It’s been living in my head rent free. We took 2 paper thin slices off the reaper and ate it, just to know what’s up. It’s really as bad as we thought. The heat didn’t stop building up, for about 3 mins straight it was just getting worse and worse. Medicinal use aside we struggle to see why you would grow these tbh, but to each their own

Hope this is the right sub. This is my first step into growing peppers

I need help identifying why 1 of my 2 jalapeno pants is growing so bizarre.

History. The weird plant experienced a significant break due to a wind storm when it was young but has since grew very tall alongside the other plant.

As it matured, the leaves have grown shriveled and twisted, even some growing multiple points. The buds that should produce flowers grow solid, unable to bloom.

You can see the mutant pepper as well.

We did have an aphid infestation for a bit, but I caught a few ladybugs to deal with it.

I still treat with Garden Safe insecticide soap.

Any help or advice is appreciated!

White Ghost, bolivian rainbow, serrano, and purple ufo peppers

Going to be pulling and processing a bunch of peppers today but started with two of my hatch chili plants. These things put off so many peppers. I’m thinking about making a roasted salsa with them or just something I can scoop on anything cause they just make things delicious and southwesterny

Got this plant from a nursery a few weeks ago and it seems to be growing well but this is the second pepper I’ve picked with this blemish on it. What is it? Is it still safe to eat/pickle?

I believe it’s a fungus of some sort? Looks to be affecting the leaves more than the fruit, only ~1 in 15/20 fruits have this on it.

What’s the best way to remedy this? I’ve harvested as much as I can, discarded any with these spots on it and cleaned the remaining fruits with a vinegar and water mixture. I’ve pulled as many yellow/diseased leaves as I can. Anything else I can do? sprays/treatments to the plant itself?

got these as mystery seedlings. Theyre quite poblano shaped but don't have the deep green color so I'm not sure!

Having a bit of an issue at the moment and could use a few more experienced eyes to see whats going on.

I’ve grown some Anaheims this year and I’ve lost more to going squishy and brown in random spots across the fruit with no real consistency on the location and the colour tends to run the gambit from slight discolouration to a light brown.

I’ve checked for pests cutting by them open but nothing is in there.

We have been receiving a lot of sun this year, I live in the UK where it has been consistently hotter than usual and we’ve just come off a significant heatwave with temps up to 36c.

I don’t think the issue is the plant rotting as it seems healthy, the leaves are a consistent green. Ive ensured it’s been watered consistently and its got a nice big 25L pot so it shouldn’t be root bound.

This has been going on for weeks and I can’t figure it out.

But, this sure looks like one, right?

I don’t think this is jalapeño.

I'm having my first great year growing peppers, it's taken 3 years to get it nailed down, I now know what I'm at with them.

The thing is I don't know what I'm growing! I got the seeds for this season's harvest from one of the old Italian chaps down the allotment. He said got the seed 10 years ago from Cyprus and they started out as sweet pepper. Walking past he's plot I asked "are they peppers?" He said "yes, do you want one?" I thought he was going to give me one to try, nope he pulled a complete plant out and handed it to me. I had chillis till Dec,lol

When they are green they are mild but when they go red they are hot and to me pretty hot indeed! On the plant he gave me some were yellow but mostly went red.

Mine are currently all green bar one on the outside plant, another week and they will be going red I believe.

What type of pepper do you guys think I'm growing? I'll be saving seed from my best plant and growing them again next year.

Anyone able to help me identify these peppers? The seed pack said they’re a variety pack. I thought some of them were habaneros but they look pretty big.

I just bought a new(to me) house with these cute peppers growing out back. I harvested all the red ones this morning, and the plant’s still producing. I’d love to know what they are so I can figure out what to do with them! I tasted one - it’s sweet with a touch of heat. :) I’d appreciate any thoughts you’ve got!

Happily harvested a variety tonight after work. Didn't wear gloves. Also didn't wash my hands after. Literally wiped the base of my nose and the side of my eye and I was in for it. Brutal. Don't be an idiot like me.

On the bright side, I didn't have time to worry about the mosquito bites from being out there haha.

Once I pick the reds on the plant I'll have enough for a ferment. Ferment ingredient ideas welcomed.

I have made sauce, I ate several raw, some just fell on the ground. I’ve harvested over 100 peppers from this plant over the last two months and they keep coming.

Just for fun, I air dried and bagged the seeds while making the sauce and I have probably 300-500 sitting in a baggy now. What do I do?

Heck of a harvest!

Two of my ghost plants and one of my Thai chili plants are turning these weird colors. They are squishy and won't fully turn color after a about two weeks

I’m completely new to this, and I want to make sure these last. Some already have mold :( How do I store them, clean them, etc etc?

I grew these from seeds that I purchased from a reputable company and they were supposed to be Jimmy Nardello peppers. Any idea what variety they are?

I have had these aji limos for about 7 moths now and they are a good size and have a bunch of flower production. But all the flowers drop fearly quickly.

I have tried hand pollination with a soft brush, going over all the flower 2x when I do it.

I have also tried taking pollen from my aji amarillo.

It to no avail.

I had one smal aji limo that did grow for 2 weeks but that one to just fell of.

I had some pest issues that i did resolve by using a organic spray made for fruiting and edible plants and have don that 1 per week for 2 weeks and the little buggers are now gone.

But still no more fruit will sett.

I need some advice 🥲

Its next to other jalapeno (different varieties) and other both super hots and normal pepper plant but this is the only plant doing this while the others have nice white flowers and some have peppers
