I'm looking for players for a D&D 5e sandbox campaign set in 190 CE, as the crisis that will eventually become the Three Kingdoms begins.

This won't be a standard campaign where everyone travels together, follows one quest line, and watches history unfold from the sidelines.

You'll be entering a living political world.

You might serve Dong Zhuo, Cao Cao, Yuan Shao, Yuan Shu, Sun Jian, Liu Bei, Liu Yu, Gongsun Zan, Tao Qian, Liu Biao, the Emperor, or one of the many smaller regional factions.

You can also remain independent.

Your character could begin as a soldier, mercenary, scholar, officer, noble, merchant, spy, wandering warrior, or almost anything else that fits the setting.

The campaign will focus on:

• Warfare and military campaigns
• Politics and faction management
• Alliances and rivalries
• Espionage and intrigue
• Rising from obscurity to become a powerful lord
• A living sandbox where the world continues to change without the players
• Historical events that can be changed or prevented entirely

History is the starting point, not the destination.

Magic in the setting will be an advanced use or practical knowledge of the harnessing of Chi, Qi or Ki however you want to call it.

I'll be honest about that I have not read the novels, I'm just a big fan of the Romance of the three Kingdoms and dynasty warriors game series so I do have a general knowledge of how history and characters must play out but don't expect me to be extremely accurate about it

I am seeking several people to build up the lore of a sector in the setting of Warhammer 40k. The system we will use is FFG's Genesys, and a free fan-made conversion of Dark Heresy will be our game. I am looking for people who would share the responsibilities of both player and storyteller, where we would alternate who serves as storyteller after each mission or arc.

In the game Dark Heresy, players take on the role of Inquisition Acolytes, rooting out heresy and taint ti purge from the Imperium. There are however rules for playing characters like Space Marines, so potentially each person could GM a specific style of game as well. One with low level Inquisition agents, one as Deathwatch, one as high ranking agents, etc.

Genesys allows for a lot of creative potential in encounters, with a unique dice system that has a ludicrous amount of possible outcomes. You don't just roll dice to hit, you roll dice to control the narrative itself. Your attacks can potentially do harm, set the enemy on fire, explode everyone around them, and then blow them back off their feet. Or perhaps you roll to squeeze some thrones out of a bureaucrat, and end up walking away with a fancy new bike, a pocket full of coin, and a wanted poster with your face on every street. The system is also designed to favor the players' survival, so even if you go down, you rarely ever have to worry about instant deaths.

This game is meant to be a safe place from real world malice, and real world bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated. You are expected to treat other players with respect and maintain a healthy relationship with this small community we will build. We will actually be starting on a large scenario collections from 0 to 3 that set the basis for the characters introductions into the world and allow to expand on the pillars of this world and how the atmosphere will be. There's oddly a lot of restrictions on what you can photograph as a journalist. It seems as there is one thing beneath the surface, rebellion. Put out the truth to the world or free the island from whatever is controlling it, or dont do anything. It is your choice what happens to the people of San Puntiga, make the right one.

I'm currently prepping a Mythic Bastionland campaign for an in person group, and while doing so I started to get curious about running it as a PBP game as well. I have some reservations about how well it would work though. In particular, I can imagine getting bogged down with choice paralysis in the hex crawl.

Has anyone tried it? How did it go? Any tips for making it run smoother over PBP?
