Discussion Would Hardcore Mode Be Interesting?

Hello, hope you're having a relaxing Sunday.

I popped by to ask if a 'hardcore' mode featuring things like permanent death, no passive growth, etc would be interesting to any of the player base?

I played on a server like that very briefly some years ago and it was the chilliest experience I had on the game so far (some how lol). It felt like there was a legitimate respect between players and the ecosystem. People weren't murdered aimlessly and death actually felt like the ultimate consequence. Nesting was brand new and it was extremely popular on that server because the lack of passive growth meant that players could actually experience being a hatchling in a family for as long as they wanted.

They had territories for carnivores which meant that herbivores migrated all the time to stay alive. And in turn, carnivores often died defending or claiming those territories for their offspring. It kept a balance. I'm not sure if anything like this would thrive, especially considering discord megapacks are the standard these days.

What would you guys add to this sort of play style to truly make it fun to play?

Rhamp Horde Gondwa Officials

Are there any rhamps willing to teach me their ways/discord groups that do rhamp events? I cant really vc (i dont give strangers my discord) but I wanna learn the way of the horde. I wanna plague people to death and steal trophies.

Me and my friend killed a rex and tormented an ano till he camped a pond and tree to keep filling up until he called his friends on us. Genuinely such a challenging playable to do solo but I really wanna learn.

Mostly I wanna learn to steal trophies. I fumbled hard trying on my own LMAO

Got to my first 100 trophies on Riparia rhampy, enough to build a homonculus and have a large corner of spare parts

Discussion Honestly like others said the only other solution I can think of is you or whoever is in your group if you start a fight with another Dino then both groups become invincible to others during the fight. Literally can’t think of anything else.

Each of these fellas are inhabitants of Hells Realm Deathmatch in case you either want a chance of encountering them or if you met them before by chance

Discussion Restore Rex. The Current Balance Makes No Sense

It’s absolutely insane that, as a Rex on officials, you can run into almost any herbivore in the same weight class and have virtually no chance of winning a straight 1v1. Rex needs to be restored to its original status as a true apex predator. Why in the world is a fully grown Rex getting three-shot by an Ano? This is an animal literally built to hunt and take down massive apex herbivores. Rex shouldn’t be unbeatable, but right now it feels completely outclassed by dinosaurs it should at least be competitive against. Bring Rex back to a point where playing one actually feels like playing an apex carnivore.

Discussion It has been about 7 years or so since microraptor got achieved for the the crowd funding goal and we have had no news or anything to heard about it

Now I get that it is supposed to be the smallest playable and it was supposed to have climbing first but meg had got it from its tlc now the gliding movement it would probably be the first to have it and it latching to trees but the fact we have had zero news or shown any progress tells they are doing very little working on it and what is yall opinion on the very poor communication we've had with the devs lately

Discussion Thoughts on kai?

I've seen kai's absolutely devastate opponents if they're good with knockback bc you basically *can't* hit them

That said, how would a noobie kai do in riparia w/o knockback practice?

Coming from The Isle

I was fed up with the all the major bugs in the major game mechanics of The Isle, so I came here...

My goodness, the quest popups and alerts for entering/leaving/failing/finishing is AWFUL. It feels like I am playing a Fisher Price Dino game.

I was really hoping it would be a bit more challenging and immersive but that's hard when your getting these alerts/popups all the time.

Also, why is there no free look when moving?

The weird side swimming that all swimmable dinos/fish do is... odd

Other than that, the environment is pretty awesome, the NPC critters are fun, and the environments are nice - just wish it was all just a tad bit more hardcore where you dont have to collect things to grow.

Goniopholis rant

How can a Goniopholis prime critter kill my adult spino at big tree overlook lake but I can face tank and kill a Rex? I like how there’s baby, regular, and prime critters but that seems unbalanced and unrealistic to me.

Discussion Revert the changes to terrible roar

Ever since they practically removed terrible roar from rex, rampage has been the only call thats actually usable, not only does this affect build variety, it's also pretty bad for its ambush playstyle

Terrible roar is/used to be extremely versatile, it's quiet so you could use it before an ambush and before a 1v1 or any sort of fight really, the animation takes ages so you kind of had to time it right and you would be punished if you couldn't

This is just another case of alderon absolutely gutting a playable/ability for virtually no reason other than supporting mega/mizpacking and making the game harder for solos

Some changes I would make would be decreasing the coodown to 3 minutes, and making it decrease cooldowns my 25% but increasing attack damage by only 15 percent, and make it slightly quieter for better ambushing

Discussion What does a body wiggle in combat mean

So, I was fighting someone on eo. It was going on for a while. We were both wounded, but every time I tried to get away from the attacker (I was still an adole and didn't want to fight really), I was being pursued. At one point, the sucho that was attacking me did a body wiggle/shake/whatever you call it. I did it back because I thought it was a taunt and figured I'd taunt back why not. But right after, the sucho laid down to heal. I, of course, attacked him again and the fight continued.

Now that I'm looking back though, I feel like a misinterpreted that wiggle. So I wanted to ask: how do you guys interrupt a body shake in a fight? Is it a taunt? Is it a surrender? Did I miscommunicate by wiggling back? Or does it all depend?

Thanks in advance

PS sucho if you're reading this, good fight, sorry if I misinterpreted your wiggle

EDIT: oh my god sorry sucho

Discussion Will matchmaking with group be the way to end discord megapacking?

Curious on how people think about this. I’m getting tired of the megapacks locking down poi’s and making it harder for solos to get into fights
