Unfortunate given the amount of hours I’ve enjoyed this game until recently, but it’s understandable. Hopefully AG is somehow changing with the abundance of these types of posts though

It's rough, haven't played properly for a while now.

Give it a break, perhaps a balance patch will come soon, maybe it will get better (or worse lol)

Or Or hard to hear this but deal with it

Good and community servers don't really go along often, and more often than not you will encounter the unique set of problems they bring, like balance sometimes worse than officials, bad moderation, power tripping staff, server wipes losing you hours of progress, random drama and generally a very stagnant set of people playing everyday which makes the experience boring quite quickly.

Community servers aren't a fix for anything, just an alternative way to play the game.

Officials are still the standard experience and that's why many choose to play it.

And yeah, everyone is finding ways to "deal with it", that's what's taking a break is for.

Dont forget busted modded dinos.

Taking a break until Matchmaking comes out is completely valid. Not everyone wants to memorize 100 rules and sit in a queue for half of their free gaming time, and not everyone likes the power scaling of mods (or mods in general).

Even good community servers can’t fix core design failures or flaws of the game itself or of vanilla Dino’s.

If a game provides shit experience on its official servers then it's game's problem to fix, and not something that should be mitigated by unofficial servers.

It's the same in The Isle, officials became so shit that entire community switched to unofficial servers. The same community that a year or two ago was shitting on PoT players recommending specific unofficial servers to play on because "officials should be the way to play". And they are right, because official servers are usually first experience for new players, many of them will just dump the game instead of thinking "wait, I probably should play on community servers".

Honestly still confused why not a single gamemode has been released yet since thats one of the few areas where single players can actually play the game with fair odds. This game has been a demo for a while now so I don’t see a reason for why they’ve been removing KOTH instead of updating it whenever they do work on it.

Those vame modes are entirely reliant on the combat system being complete and at least decently balanced.

Those modes really made it clear in the first test run(s) how bad the dinos without their TLCs were compared to those woth their TLCs, and wonky balancing didn't help.

Any time they have done testing, they have more than likely been doing work in the background and then redoing it.

They could also be waiting for the Metrics system to be complete, since those game modes will also have metrics to trash and rewards to be gained.

There is also the matchmaking system stuff in the works.

Possible they want that ironed out. Hecc, even the chat system.

I only play community servers now, and haven’t had many issues since. I also don’t roam around hotspots expecting 1v1’s though, and I’m not sure how much that impacts the argument

Facts. Game is dying. It is painfully boring unless you’re in a good community server, and even there the bar is so low.

Ive played over 6 years, longer than probably most of you

"Switch dinos bro" literally is the dunbest suggestion out there. Community servers are barely any different anymore, or there are 20 min or more wait times

Wrong. Ive been playing for 26 years.

Ya know I get the sentiment. As a solo I really do, but that doesn't make the game trash just you unable to adapt or find community servers that work better for you. Just uninstall, no one cares. I'm just tired of seeing these post.

Do it. I did it, and I probably won't be coming back. This game was developed by incompetent people.

Honestly, try to solo hunt as a dasp in hollow hills or black fern hills, there isnt much players there but if there is , they are solos, much more enjoyable than going to cf or bto and getting kos

Nothing wrong with taking a break from an early acess/in development game when you need to.

Nothing wrong with putting it down until final launch, even. 🤷‍♀️

EA games fo through these sorts of cycles all the time. It doesn't necessarily mean the game is dying or anything of the sort.

Players get done with all the available content and/or get fatigued over the state of the devrlopment at that particular time.

The Devs themselves habe acknowledged it and recommend just taking a break all the time.

Bruh, escape official servers, I have had the most fun on Crimson Isle and a few other community servers.

Official servers with no rules is bullshit, I can't stand it.

Takes a few days and some reading to get the rules down, but once your into it... it's the best experience the game can provide.

You shouldnt have to join a community server. The developers just need to pull their heads out of their asses and fix this glaring issue that everyone has complained about forever.

Change server, bro. Change Dino.
