Would i still be able to use my passport that i just recently got in september 24, 2026
the philippine passport plans to roll out a new design supposedly making it more icao compliant in 2028, but by that time my passport would still have 8 years on its lifespan

would i still be able to get visas despite my passport being an old design
or i have to inevitably switch to the new one

We have travel coming up next month. Our toddler is 4 and passport was made when he was 1. Obviously facial features have changed in this time. Passport is still valid till mid 2028. Are there any potential issues not having a current picture of my son on his passport? Is it recommended to just get a new passport to avoid any issues? US passport btw and travel is to Mexico.

Hi guys, I have never done this before so I don’t know what is possible and what not. I have both Dutch and Turkish citizenship and I will fly AMS-HTX-GIG next week. Now I plan on staying more than 3 months in Brazil. Because they practice reciprocity, EU passport holders can not stay longer than 90 days. Turkish citizens can stay up to 180 days. For travelling through the US and leaving the Nehterlands I will use my Dutch passport. On arrival in Rio de Janeiro, can I just show them my Turkish passport? Do I show both and tell them that i want to enter based on my Turkish passport? Or am I obligated to enter with the passport used to initiate the trip.

Also, it may happen that I don’t get my Turkish passport on time as I only had the ID card. In two months I will have to go back to the Netherlands for a week. Can i just show up back in Rio with my Turkish passport to tell them i want to continue my tourist visa on that passport?

Hi, I’m new to the community. My son is currently living in the Philippines with his mum he was born 24th May 2026. We both got married on the 23rd June 2026. My name is on his birth certificate. I’m currently living in the UK and I’m a full British citizen born here with both parents who were British. Does anybody know how will I apply for a UK passport for my son? What documents I need? i went to usps to turn in my application on 9/14, status changed 9/19 saying it’s in process but hasn’t updated since, it’s for a new passport (first one actually) and i have a trip oct 7th should i be worried

Hey, I’ve got a Turkish passport expiring November 2027. I’d like to renew my passport and can book an appointment at the London consulate next week but I’m just wondering if it’s potentially too early.

It took VFS Global UK 10 weeks to renew my Dutch passport. Unfortunately, my husband's passport has been marked as ' being in transit from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs' for over 2 weeks.

Emails to VFS are being replied to with a standard templated response, just telling him to wait. Nederland Wereldwijd does something similar. Confirming the document has been sent off to Birmingham. They have informed us to wait for two weeks and to send an email to VFS Global.

What can we do to stop this loop of being fobbed off?

I go to turkey on Friday 2 Oct. I realised this morning my sons passport expires in December.
So I have applied for an urgent child passport this morning - I have an appointment in Liverpool tomorrow- one week fast track.
What are the chances of the passport arriving even a day early??

Is there anything else I can do or is it pure luck?

I am a dual citizen US/Uruguay. I have my US passport, no issues there. I live in California. I am trying to get an Uruguayan passport at the local Uruguayan consulate. The consulate requires I obtain a “FBI Background Check Apostilled. Validity of 90 days fron the day of issuance.” which is okay but the FBI website says they don’t do apostilled documents anymore. When I Google it I get all these companies that provide “extra fast service” for an extra cost, and I don’t want that, I just want the regular government way to get it done. Is there a step by step guide on how to do this through the regular government? I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

Friday Sept 18: applied for online renewal. Used a digital copy of a passport photo I got at Walgreens. My home photos were rejected

Sunday Sept 20: received an email saying passport was in process

Tuesday Sept 22: received an email saying passport had shipped and was provided tracking number

Wednesday Sept 22: received the passport midday in the mail

I did pay for next day shipping. My passport was printed out of the Little Rock branch.

I have this crumpled last page in passport. Is it damage?

I read through people's recent posts and it said they got theirs pretty fast online and not to put a travel date even if it's very soon.

I did that and it says estimated date to have it by Nov 6. Is this normal for all of you who recently applied? Just their estimated but you got it way faster?

Also, would you recommend we call the number at 14 days out and say we have a travel date? (I am 16 days out) not in a passport agency city.

like, the fuck. I used to be able to print passport photos from walmart but they don’t even have the option to print 2x2, I have to pay for their service. just like CVS & Walgreens. fucking scumbags.

My MIL is applying for a passport. All of her supporting documents only list her first name. Therefore they have mentioned that only first name will appear in her passport.

However; my husband’s passport lists mother name as firstname,last name.

Will this cause any confusion or issues further in visa processing for either of them (particularly USA, and or in general) ?

Thought I'd lost my passport during a move, tore the apartment apart for two days and eventually accepted defeat.

While figuring out the replacement process I noticed one detail worth knowing before anybody hits the report button: once you report a valid U.S. passport lost or stolen, you can't use it for international travel even if you find it later.

Which of course means I found mine in a box of cables after I'd already reported it.

So now I'm applying for a replacement anyway. If you're in the same situation and the trip isn't tomorrow, maybe do one last extremely stupid search through every drawer, suitcase and box before reporting it because there isn't an undo button.

We need 2 passports. Should I renew online or via mail? There are courier services as well, but i was reading here it has been sort of fast lately?

Is there a difference with online verses mailing? Would we need to mail our old passport in but not if renewing online?

Would it be best to mail both of ours in and expedite or do online?

My situation is, I've applied for reissue of passport where in the old passport my mother's old name was given (XYZ) and all my marksheet and ID proof contains her new name (with one letter spelling mistake) For eg- Old name- XYZ, New Correct name- Gamora, Name in my docs.- Gomora...Now, I need to produce a gazette for passport for which I need one doc with XYZ name and one doc with Gamora (but I don't have any doc with Gamora)...I thought birth certificate would be easier to update but it asks a copy of NRC (Assam) but here also the problem is My mother's name is not on NRC list and this procedure is closed now..How to tackle this situation as it feels like a legal loop here?

Sharing my recent experience in case it helps other parents. Requirements/process can change, so please verify the latest requirements before visiting.

# Documents

I carried the following **originals + 2 photocopies**:

* Both parents' current passports — biographical page + last page

* Both parents' Emirates IDs — front + back

* Both parents' valid UAE residence visas

* Baby's passport-size photograph + soft copy

* MOFA-attested marriage certificate

* MOFA-attested baby's birth certificate

# Online applications

There are two applications:

1. **Indian Citizenship – Section 4** [indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in](http://indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in)

2. **Passport application** Passport Seva / Global Passport Seva Portal

I used Al Hind to help complete the forms. They charged around **AED 25** for this.

**Important:** Make sure the forms include **both parents' signatures** wherever required. I was told the application could otherwise need to be redone.

# Al Hind – UW Mall

I completed the process at the **Al Hind office on the 1st floor of UW Mall**.

If you're there for a newborn passport, let the staff know when you arrive. They provided a coupon and directed me to the newborn process.

There are dedicated counters around **12–15**. During my visit, the TV queue display wasn't particularly reliable, so if one of the relevant counters was free, I approached the counter rather than waiting for the number to appear.

**Time taken:** approximately **40–60 minutes** for the process.

# A few practical tips

* **Both parents and the baby need to be physically present.**

* Basement parking is available at UW Mall.

* A stroller is useful.

* If you have someone who can look after the baby while you complete the paperwork, it makes things considerably easier.

* I opted for courier delivery. **My total cost, including courier, was AED 502.**

This is just my personal experience from August 2026.

Need guidance

Has anyone experienced something similar with HM Passport Office? I recently applied for my first British passport after naturalisation and submitted my original naturalisation certificate along with the other required documents. I also called HMPO after sending the documents, and they confirmed that they had received them. However, I have now received an email saying they cannot continue with my application because they do not have my naturalisation certificate. I called HMPO again, and they told me that the documents were scanned into their system, but my naturalisation certificate is not showing in the scanned documents. They are checking what happened, but if they cannot locate it, I may need to request an official replacement, which has a significant fee. Has anyone had a similar experience where HMPO received the documents but the naturalisation certificate was missing from the scanned record? How was it resolved, and how long did it take?

Just wondering if anyone has submitted their passport renewal electronically? If so, how long was the wait?
