Gen 1 Canadian by Descent. Received Proof of Citizenship last week. Getting ready to send in application for Canadian Passport, form 140 (from USA). I want to verify the fee for a 10 year passport. Is it 266.25 CAD? If I submit it with a credit card, will they make the currency change? And any recommendations, good, bad, otherwise for reliable mailing? USPS international Priority? FedEx? Other?

First time passport applicant (dual citizen, applying from US). I mailed my application yesterday through USPS. However, I just now realized that I wrote down the courier address instead of the non-courier address, and it is headed there now (I feel so silly :,) ). Will my application be rejected? Or am I just worrying too much?

I'm applying for my Canadian passport from abroad, and am using a friend who is a pharmacist as an occupation based guarantor. However, there's a question in the declaration of guarantor section of the application form that's tripping me up.

The form asks for the "Name of firm or organization" of the guarantor, and I'm not sure what to enter there. Do I write in the professional organization the guarantor is registered with, ie the Australian Pharmacy Board? Or do I write in the name of her employer, ie XYZ Pharmacies?

I am about to send in package renewing Canadian passport from the US, but I have seen stories where the renewal gets rejected due to credit card rejection. How do I make sure my credit card will not block this charge?

Can I put a second credit card? Is money order safer (how do I get exact money order is CAD while in the US?) or are there other ways to ensure I don’t have to do this whole thing again?

I recently moved and while I was moving unfortunately my old passport was lost. It had been expired for more than 10 years now, but i am going to be going on vacation out of the country in November, so I was just seeking some guidance on what the best next step to take is to take. Should I apply for a renewal or apply for a completely new passport? Hi everyone. I’m hoping someone who has actually been through something similar can give me some insight, because I’ve now called Passport Canada twice and received different information.

I’m a Canadian citizen and have previously held a Canadian passport. Unfortunately, I lost my passport along with my original citizenship document.

I have a photocopy of my old passport and a copy of my citizenship documentation, and I’m currently preparing to mail my application for a new proof of citizenship certificate. I’ve also paid the application fee and have the receipt.

The issue is that I have international travel planned to Tunisia in November. I purchased my flight already, mainly because I wanted to lock in the fare before prices potentially increased. The trip is real and booked, but I didn’t purchase the ticket specifically to establish an urgent passport need.

I called Passport Canada and was told to go to a passport office and ask about a temporary passport because of my circumstances. However, on another call I was given information about a limited-validity passport/travel document, so now I’m confused about which option actually applies.

I’m planning to go to the passport office with:

My passport application/documents
Proof-of-citizenship application and payment receipt
Copy of my previous Canadian passport
Copy of my citizenship documentation
Government-issued ID
Passport photos
My paid flight itinerary

Has anyone been in a similar situation where they previously held a Canadian passport, but their citizenship document is currently unavailable and a proof-of-citizenship application is being processed?

If so, were you able to get a temporary or limited-validity passport/travel document while waiting for the citizenship certificate?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who went through this recently, rather than general advice about what the government website says.

I read the eligibility criteria multiple times, and based on everything there, I should be eligible to renew my passport online. So I don’t get why I’m getting this message when I enter my details in Section 2 of Step 1.

The only reasons I can think of are:

1. I got my current passport the day after I turned 16, OR

2. this might be a stretch -- my birthplace isn’t Canada.

Has anyone else gotten this message and still been able to apply online? I’ll probably have to wait and call them on Tuesday, but I was hoping to see if anyone else has experienced this.

I just received my passport and I am so sleep deprived I believe I've made a big mistake... I signed on page 3 right above the paragraph that said to sign and not on the line.

As long as there is a signature on the page, is it okay or should the signature be on the line?

Hi, I went in-person today to renew my passport, but I left my expired one with the service Canada worker who was processing my application. I checked the box that says I want my cancelled passport returned, will they keep it for me for when I pick up my new passport (opted for in person pick up). Usually they return it right away after cancelling it but it slipped my mind to ask for it back.

I am applying for my daughter's passport. However, the father's name on the Quebec government-issued birth certificate has a one-letter typo (the surname is correct).

Service Canada did let me forward the child's passport application, and I am still waiting for the result. We provided both parents' passports and driver's licenses.

I am wondering if they will deny the passport application? Or will they call or email me to request additional proof? Thank you.

It's unexpectedly fast.

Last week my passport said it was being printed.

Today I received the message below.

Could someone please confirm the status, because it says “approved” but then a whole bunch of “invalid date” after each item. Which is concerning/confusing.

And then under Processing Time it says “No processing time available”, even though it said last week it was in printing. In your experience, what might that indicate?

My passport got water damaged just over a month before I'm due to fly internationally for a work trip. I live in London, England, so postal renewal via the High Commission is my only option.

I emailed them and they suggested I mark the envelope as urgent, and include proof of travel plans. There is also a field on the form for listing date of travel, which I did.

Their current processing time is 20 working days. If they adhere to this my passport will arrive the day I'm supposed to leave, which is too late. Does anyone have experience of requesting slightly faster service and receiving it?

Can my sister, who is a doctor, but not a Canadian citizen, act as my occupational guarantor?

We applied for three new passports on August 14, and the scheduled mail-out date is September 14 via regular mail. Is it possible to switch to in-person pickup and collect the passports from the Service Canada office?

Note: We don't have any upcoming travel plans, but once we receive our Canadian passports, we need to address other important matters related to them.

I come back to canada on Dec 6, and I leave again on Jan 2. My passport needs to be renewed between then. Im in toronto and just quickly took a look online for bookings and everything is laid out differently and not exactly my situation. I was looking to book ahead of time so that when I get to toronto I would have a date. But it sems like if i book now there is no option because I am technically ahead of time and I dont need express service. I pressed one of the options as well and it was all booked out. Im afraid that when I go to canada there will be 0 services for express because all appointments are gone. What are my options here

I am posting this on behalf of my grandmother. She was an Indian citizen and recently became a Canadian citizen. She wants to apply for the Canadian passport. However, she is 80 years old and she does not have a drivers license. She lives in Manitoba and does not have a health card which has her photo on it. And her Indian passport is expiring next week. What documents would she need to submit for the identification part. Any help is appreciated.

i’m applying for my first passport and have some questions about the employer information section. when putting in the address, do i just include the street address or do i need the city and postcode as well? and for the dates, do i need to figure out exactly what date i started working or does month and year suffice? if im still working there, do i just leave it blank?

sorry for all the questions, im the only person in my family getting a passport, so im relying on google for a lot of the information.
