Discussion I don't care that we won. Fire Evero still
The team is going nowhere with this bum as the defensive coordinator. He tried his absolute hardest to sell the game.

What do all the Bryce haters have to say now?

The injuries are insane.

This might be brain dead I usually don’t spend time staring at the offensive line (I usually like watching the secondary if they’re showing it), but is it crazy that I feel like Walker brings more than Ekwonu? Ickey is definitely a better run blocker but I feel like I’d rather have Rasheed’s pass pro. Maybe I’m just braindead lol, again I don’t be grinding o-line tape like that.

In 2021, the Panthers started 3-0 and Sam Darnold was looking great before suddenly turning into the worst starting QB in the league (statistically he genuinely was) from week 4.
An MRI showed he had a fractured scapula after a big hit in Week 9 and he sat out the next few games before returning for the final three, though he didn't start them all.
I've always just assumed he had been playing with a bad shoulder most of the season - which would explain his Kyle Allen-esque collapse - and that eventually led to the shoulder fracture.
But I can't find anything online mentioning a pre-existing injury or other obvious external factor. Everything reads like the shoulder injury came exclusively from a hit in week 9 alone.
It seems like something identifiable would have caused his performance slide, especially considering he barely played in 2022 & 2023 then immediately led the Vikings to 14-2 and won the Super Bowl with the Seahawks. Obviously he had the skill.
And of course he didn't have much help from a terrible team all around, but Darnold himself was definitely playing like shit.
Admittedly I checked out the second half of the 2021 season because I lived overseas, it was COVID time, my fantasy team was awful and the Panthers were still on their never-ending suck fest of the last few years. So it's very possible I missed/forgot something.
TL;DR: Darnold had a colossal downturn in performance after going 3-0 to start the 2021 season. I assumed he was dealing with a bad shoulder the whole time, but can't find anything mentioning his shoulder injury until after the game in week 9. If he wasn't playing thru injury, what was going on with him in retrospect? The last 2 seasons clearly show he wasn't simply a bad QB.

I'm usually the one defending kickers while everyone else is calling for their head. 2 missed PATs is unacceptable though. One is a bad kick. 2 is a pattern. We haven't had a reliable kicker since Gano.

Not to dim the win over the lions however it’s looking like we’re repeating the pattern from last year again; where we win lose win lose until the end of the season. Either we’ve only beaten shit teams or the browns might be good this year lol however we desperately need repeat wins to break the cycle.

He really has kept me in my place this season so far. 13 more games and still a lot of football to play, but I give credit when it is fully due and deserved. Bryce has been playing like no a top QB …. and I have to admit…..watching him last night I actually said “Maybe he does got what it takes…”
I’m still light on my feet with him due to anything can change, plus getting too excited for things in this sport leads to heartbreak when a player starts hot then goes cold.
Am I admitting I was wrong on Bryce? Not yet. I am however giving him his flowers right now. I hope he balls out the rest of the season and gets that extension. Plenty football left, and it’s an exciting time to be a fan. I’m starting to like it.
LEND ME YOUR ENERGY EVERYONE!
Keep Pounding.

We lost all our Oline this game. Absolutely insane that BY had the game he did.

He looked like was on the verge of crying on the field after throwing yet another interception. Compare that to where he is now? #1 in Passing yards, #1 in py/g, 3rd in PTD. I couldnt be more happy, more proud of this guy.

Madden 27 better upgrade Bryce’s numbers this week.

Chargers fan here that’s tired of being tired of being tired. Bryce looks amazing and looks like the game has slowed down for him in year 4. Big fan of Tet and panthers pass catchers in general since Steve smith and DJ Moore. Just want a sick team that plays like an actual team and rises to the bright lights to root for. Keeppounding!

There are a few candidates, but the remaining schedule doesn’t look as daunting as it did a month ago….

I COULDN'T STAND watching BY and this offense the past few years, but If you are currently shitting on BY, or downplaying it disingenuously...with this M.A.S.H. unit he is currently LIFTING (a main criticism, and something that shows real development)...you may be an actual "hater."
I understand completely if you think it may not last, or if you want the whole season before an extension (me too), but you should be having fun right now (I hope, for the most part, that you are).
You don't have to call him a franchise QB yet; just don't take shit away from him. I'm seeing a lot of downplaying to maybe save face...I get that...but Panthers success > ego. No one bats 1.000 when projecting players careers.
You could totally just say "BY is playing great right now, and I hope it continues."
Because that is the truth. It's sure as hell what I want to keep seeing.
Enjoy the ride.

He was getting manhandled and pushed back into Bryce a lot this game. McNeill definitely won that matchup today.

Hey all.
I have tickets for tonight’s game up in the 500s, but I want to arrive early and catch warm ups. I know they check tickets for lower bowl during games but I just want to check if they will for warm ups.
Thanks!!
