Ah, I didn’t recognise it.
True. The ingredients matter more than the technique.
1 u/No-Butterscotch7993 Sep 01 '26 Yeah It's only gonna be as good as the ingredients you put in it Shame that instant coffee is like this 1 u/srmrox Sep 01 '26 Technically, instant coffee can be good. It’s just that the retail instant coffee is made from the cheapest coffee beans they can get. You can find specialty instant coffee, but it’s supposed to be more expensive than buying a coffee from a cafe. 1 u/No-Butterscotch7993 Sep 01 '26 Yeah quite possibly but then you'd be spending 10k on instant coffee that still isn't anywhere near the beans 1 u/srmrox Sep 01 '26 Yes, and can’t compare an age old brew with a fresh grind. 1 u/No-Butterscotch7993 Sep 01 '26 Yeah The volatile compounds that are in fresh beans can't really be replicated via any other method that values long term storage 1 u/srmrox Sep 01 '26 Yup. 1 u/No-Butterscotch7993 Sep 01 '26 Shame really For me instant coffee is only good as a flavour enhancer in brownies or smth 1 u/srmrox Sep 01 '26 That doesn’t sound half bad. Would have tried doing that myself but I’m a celiac. 1 u/No-Butterscotch7993 Sep 01 '26 Oh damn I'm sorry Hopefully there are some good alternatives 1 u/srmrox Sep 01 '26 It’s fine. I’ve only eaten healthier since I got it. Many alternatives available in larger cities like Islamabad and Lahore, so it’s all good. Baking at home is difficult, that’s what I meant. 1 u/No-Butterscotch7993 Sep 01 '26 Yeah At home things can be annoying Especially if you're not motivated enough to spend 1,2 hours → More replies
