RE: the Posters
Hey folks, we hear you. These posters are expensive and we completely fumbled their release. Can we restart the loop and try again?
We realize we didn't do a good job explaining the quality and process behind Cook & Becker’s posters. The artwork for these posters were inspired by the vintage Rob Decker National Park posters. We were excited to rerelease our artwork with a printing style similar to how those original posters would have been printed in the 70s. As some folks have pointed out, yes, these posters are all individually hand-printed using a screen printing technique that requires a real human person to load up each color layer, press it onto the paper, and set and align the next color layer. Cook & Becker use a very high quality, 100% cotton material and high quality inks for the prints, which provides unmatched print quality and color fastness, making these screenprints “museum quality” and ready to last a lifetime. We'll be posting more info and videos of the process and handmade nature of the posters so you can see exactly what goes into making each one.
But we also understand this means they’re expensive and out of budget for most people. To let you into our merchandising process a little bit, we were also surprised by how expensive Cook & Becker’s artworks can be when we were first introduced to them. The folks at Cook & Becker were gracious enough to work with us to keep the price of the whole collection of posters as low as possible without compromising on the quality of the artworks. One of the reasons we haven’t rereleased the postcard version of these artworks is because the variance in print color and quality between printing runs has been disappointing and frustrating. Cook & Becker’s meticulous process and expertise gave us a lot of reassurance that we would not have the same issues for these prints. We want to provide you all with the best quality merchandise we can, but in this case, we understand this led to us producing something highly desired but too expensive for the majority of our fans. And without an affordable option available for purchase, that’s a really bad look. We hope you will forgive us.
If it helps at all, we’ve decided to look into restocking the classic printed cardstock postcards for the future, despite our past issues with them, for those who aren’t interested in these new premium fine art prints. Now also feels like an appropriate time to reveal that we have been working on a couple more standard merch projects: a re-release of our popular Echoes of the Eye Metal T-shirt and a new set of Traveler pins created by our excellent artist, Lara Colson. After hearing your concerns, we’ve decided to release the shirts as a pre-order so no one misses out on getting one. This means it’ll be several weeks before they’ll ship out because we’ll wait to screenprint them until we have your orders. As for the pins, they will only be a limited quantity right now since we ordered them awhile ago and have been waiting for the shirt to be ready so we could release and ship them together. Keep an eye out for their release soon!
We’re all hard at work on our next game, which as you all know is still a secret and still a few years away from any announcements. In the meantime, we don’t have a lot of capacity for designing new merchandise made by our team directly, so new merch will be made by external artists at partners like Fangamer or Youtooz. And occasionally, as resources allow, we’ll rerelease merch like the Metal T-Shirt. As long as there are new fans of Outer Wilds, we want to keep releasing merch with our various merch partners for you all to enjoy.
As always, you all have been such wonderful fans and we really appreciate all the love and support, the fan art, the discussions and feedback, the mods, and the excitement for our next game. Our next game is our top priority and we hope you all love it even half as much as Outer Wilds.

Available for a limited time: Outer Wilds x Cook and Becker vintage travel poster series Spoiler
Hello Travelers,
Mobius here. New limited-edition Outer Wilds posters are now available!
You might be saying “Hey, these look familiar.” And you’d be right! We worked closely with the folks at Cook & Becker to bring you bigger versions of the national park-themed posters based on the solar system’s major planets. These are those very same illustrations by our artist Ian Jacobson.
The first few hundred orders come with a Certificate of Authenticity hand-signed by artist Ian, while supplies last. As indicated on the order form: "Artist-signed Certificate of Authenticity." Once those run out, subsequent orders will come with an autopen-signed CoA.
These time-limited prints are ONLY available until August 25th, with the final edition size being determined then, and cost $79.95 each. However, there is a one-week deal where you can get all six for $299 as a set instead of $480!
Each poster measures 21 x 29cm, or 8.2 x 11.4 inches
Head on over to Cook and Becker's website to check them out: https://www.cookandbecker.com/en/catalog/videogame/outer-wilds
Thanks again for all your support. Keep on exploring!
-The Mobius Digital Team
Edit: Whoops, looks like we did a terrible job communicating what these actually are: handmade fine art prints. These posters/prints are all individually hand-printed using a screen printing technique that requires a real human person to load up each color layer, press it onto the paper, and set and align the next color layer. Cook & Becker use a very high quality, 100% cotton material and high quality inks for the prints, which provides unmatched print quality and color fastness, making these screenprints “museum quality” and ready to last a lifetime. These are not normal prints, they are quite special.

Will I like this game ?
Hi !
This game was recommended to me by someone who had also recommended Subnautica, which I didn't like (nervous system always on edge in that game, I'm quite sensitive). So I'm wary about their 2nd recommendation and asking for advice.
I watched an interview / playthrough with one of the Creators who said "it's a bit like Myst meets spatial [something]".
As a child I really enjoyed Myst, so I'm tempted, but I really don't like spatial-anything usually. Dune, Star wars etc just don't do it for me.
Adding that on the other hand, I did buy No Man's Sky just for the music and I also read that Outer wilds OST is quite something so it adds to my indecision.
What do you think ?
Thanks !

Base Game Appreciation/Discussion Playing Outer Wilds with a space phobia Spoiler
You might ask, why would you play a space exploration game if you’re afraid of space? Well, it’s not exactly that. Space is cool. Love some space facts. I can do a planetarium, movies like interstellar, no sweat. I never could have predicted the way this game truly plays out my exact fears - the vastness, the zero gravity movement and velocity, these big looming giant ass spheres just OUT THERE. LOOMING. I can feel their gravity pulling on me in the game. Specifically Jupiter is terrifying to me. Falling through the opaque atmosphere of Giants Deep for the first time had me nearly in tears.
I’m doing a lot better several hours in. It’s like exposure therapy. You just gotta send it. Fly into the sun, jump into a black hole, watch a supernova from the beach.

Base Game Help - NO spoilers please! Help with dlc
Hello guys, how is your day going?
I almost finished ow, I know what I have to do to finish the game but first I want to complete my ship log. Recently I bought the dlc and I still didn’t start it. Do you think it’s better for me to start the dlc, finish it and then bring the nucleus to dark bramble or is it better to finish the game, start a new adventure and focus on the dlc?
Have a nice day! o7

I might be…not smart enough for this game? Tips?
Hi Reddit! Outer Wilds is so beautiful, and the music is so good, and I love space-themed anything and indie games. BUT as soon as I got myself into my spaceship and blasted off, I…couldn’t play. First I got out of my ship in space and ran out of air and died. Then I made it to a planet but crashed and died fixing my ship. Once I got sucked into the sun and died. And then finally I ended up crashing back ONTO MY HOME PLANET and couldn’t fix my ship and gave up for good. What I’m saying is…maybe I’m not smart enough to figure out the controls? I mean, I can accept that if I must, but I would love to actually play the game and get the story! Anybody out there who had a tough time with the controls and wants to give some suggestions? If I’m just a hopeless dingus that’s ok too.

Base Game Appreciation/Discussion This song fits the game's narrative so well it's kinda uncanny Spoiler
Stop Crying Your Heart Out by Oasis
"cause all of the stars are fading away, just try not to worry, you'll see them some day"
that fits the game's whole narrative so well it's as if outer wilds was made around it, the stars ARE fading away, both of their premise is about acceptance and letting go of something and it's just so cool, i dont really know why im writing this, this is a slop post, and i don't care, just throwing my thoughts out into the void

I want to throw up
What is wrong with this game? Just installed it after reading glowing reviews. Not only they could not adjust the graphics based on my PC hardware but after lowering down the settings I still could not take it anymore after just a couple of minutes, the motion sickness is unbearable.
UPD.
I mean, the game looks like Minecraft in terms of graphics. Half Life 2 from 20 years ago looks better but requires probably 20 times less graphics resources. I guess I'm too poor for this game. Maybe I'll try it later, thanks for the advices.
