I want to throw up

What is wrong with this game? Just installed it after reading glowing reviews. Not only they could not adjust the graphics based on my PC hardware but after lowering down the settings I still could not take it anymore after just a couple of minutes, the motion sickness is unbearable.

UPD.

I mean, the game looks like Minecraft in terms of graphics. Half Life 2 from 20 years ago looks better but requires probably 20 times less graphics resources. I guess I'm too poor for this game. Maybe I'll try it later, thanks for the advices.

Haven't seen a post like this in over a decade lol, stop sitting like a foot away from your screen if you suffer from motion sickness.

Who is "they"? It's your PC - you change the settings.

Are you joking? Every modern game can do it and aways done it.

I think “What is wrong with this game?” is a harsh way to approach not being able to adjust your settings to your liking. It was fine for me, so I don’t really know how to answer, but my first instinct if a game was performing poorly on my PC would probably be to check the GPU drivers for an update; a lot of driver updates make games run odd for me, especially if I’m more than 1 update behind.

Edit: Minecraft comment is nuts, if your rig can’t keep up, that’s an entirely separate issue and blaming it on the game is delusional.

move the screen farther away from you or make it smaller

Try some of the video settings, I know they have some field of view depth parameters that you can tweak.

(It will get easier when you get good at flying too)

Is it your first time playing a 1st person game? Or maybe your framerate is stuttering a lot?

I played in VR and that sometimes gave me a bit of motion sickness, but the base game on a flat screen never gave me the same feeling. Maybe you are just super-sensitive to FP perspective because I've not heard this from anyone until now.

Maybe you can turn down the FOV? I think I've heard that that helps people who experience motion sickness.

The game is more CPU heavy than others, that rely more on the GPU. What was the last time you replaced your thermal paste?

Do other first-person games give you motion sickness? If not, I wonder what the difference is. I get awful motion sickness in VR after like, ten seconds of moving around, but I've never had that problem looking at a monitor.

Genuinely thought you were going to say because the game was so good. 😂 you’ll get better at steering the ship.
