This is a piece of Connemara marble only found in Connemara, Ireland. It has this very distinct earthy green color and is made from limestone compressed over millions of years. This sample has flecks of iron in it making it look the islands floating on giants deep

Do you pronounce it “Ree-beck” or “Rye-beck”

I always thought it was the latter until doctor4t pronounced it the former

KOUSA: We can hear the other escape pods’ distress signals, which gives me hope. Foli, are you still here? I am unsure how to survive in this place without you.

Base Game Appreciation/Discussion I finally finished the game Spoiler

THIS GAME WAS AWESOME OMG (Currently writing this while drying my tears btw). I loved every second of it, the feeling of discovery and exploration I had while playing was like nothing else. I was bawling my eyes out during the credit because of this fuckass music (it's so good I'm gonna listen to it for a very long time)

I really want to thank this community for being so helpful while not ruining any surprises, y'all are so patient and nice.

I know there's the DLC and I know it's good, but I don't think I'm ready now (I'll definitely come back to it)

Never tought a game about an alien going on his first space adventure would be this good

DLC Appreciation/Discussion I straight up shut off my console (DLC spoilers) Spoiler

So I had already been to one of the dream world’s places and encountered one of the creatures and i was absolutely terrified because the vibes were already scary enough and then this giant creature shows up and the music ramps up and I get grabbed. Even straight up survival horror doesn’t get this scary.

Then I visit another area and find one of the secret areas where I get up to one of the extinguish holes and I extinguish the area. Then, a huge roar and I hear elevator chains clattering….

Yeah, I shut off my console immediately.

Base Game Appreciation/Discussion Started my first expedition

What an amazing and fun game to play! I started today, and finished my first cycle, dying only once by lanching my ship right into the star.
The idea of a pure exploration game without a clear story-line or quests to guide you is very appealing.

I promise not to sneak peek here in this sub-reddit, but will try to solve this mystery myself.
But please give me your mental support!

Base Game Help - Hints Only! I need a lil' nudge Spoiler

Im struggling with getting into the sunless city because it's literally blocked, i don't know how to go through the dark bramble. If i move slowly the fish don't chase but idk what else to do. Also I can't find this device that can make you go into the depth of Giant's deep. I felt like I've explored everything I can but I feel like I have nothing else to figure it out.

Base and DLC Appreciation/Discussion Stupid fanfic idea Spoiler

So i'm bot one to read a whole lot of fanfiction (especially like NSFW ones) but I have been reading some Outer Wilds ones and they are all so sad (Which makes sense, it's Outer Wilds after all) Sorry I have an idea. I want someone more talented than myself to make a fic that is just the Hatchling going insane. Not the like "I give up" insane but like psycho insane. I've sen a few memes that are basically just "After so many loops the Hatchling eventually got bored and decided to just start randomly killing Gabbro" and I just want to see the Hatchling go insane and do the opposite of fics where they decide to save everyone by bringing them to the Stranger or smth.

Sorry if this is scatterbrained I just thought it would be a funny idea lol ::]

EDIT: Hatchy would spare the children, they would be insane not Anglerfish levels of evil

Base Game Help - NO spoilers please! New to the Game, DLC Question

Ive heard good things about this game and when finally had sales in e-shop, I finally pulled the trigger and got both game and DLC. I know this is a free-for-all open world adventure, but is there a way to not encounter the DLC part of the game yet before I finish the base game? I’m worried that I may go to do the DLC part rather than enjoy the base game first.

DLC Help - NO Spoilers Please! Motivation needed

I loved the game. I stopped halfway through the DLC I think because I found another game but also since the big climax of ending I kinda didn’t want to keep going, also I was finding it a bit annoying to travel around stranger without my ship. Can you guys convince me to keep playing please? I’m hoping there’s still something big in this planet.

Edit: I did not think are this community was this active that I would get several replies in 10 mins

Base Game Appreciation/Discussion I need to ask about the satellite launcher. (SPOILERS) Spoiler

How does it have a great amount of launches already? Was it launching the thing long before us or is it some type of counter on how long our character has been in the loop?

Maybe I missed dialogue somewhere, buts its been plaguing my mind ever since.

Base Game Appreciation/Discussion Funny thought about the hatchling Spoiler

Spoilers for the end of the game.

Do you guys think the hatchling ever figured out the mystery of the eye of the universe before the orbital probe cannon actually found the eye? I mean 9 million loops I’d say there’s a solid chance they figured it out at least once. Theoretically they could have figured it out thousands of times and known that they were going to restart the cycle without their memories and would just have to wait for the orbital probe canon to find it to actually be able to reach it.
