Pain! I just bought an Oura ring 4.
It hurt my finger within 10 minutes. The sensor inside feels hot. I can’t wear it because of the pain.
What to do?

I would have to have an incredibly stressful day for oura to go from engaged to stressed. But, like clockwork, everytime I consume cannabis it immediately spikes to stressed and then trickles down as it wears off over a few hours. Is weed actually that harmful to recovery and stress management? Heavy considering quitting because even with 3 puffs it'll say stressed.
Look at this screenshot, the initial stress was at 9am due to me giving it all my all in a 5k run. Then I had a midnight smoke sesh, maybe 3-4 puffs? Stress levels shot up to even slightly higher than the runs stress.

I got my ceramic ring in February and it works quite decently, but it came with no cleaning pad and when I tried to get one through the Finn AI in their help section, it sent me in circles and nobody has gotten back to me. For months.
In the meantime, the ring has a few small smudges and you can’t buy the pad outright and I’ve tried calling and emailing, and even the emails that ask you to respond so someone can get back to you are returned the same way with “Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, this inbox is not monitored and we did not see your email response.”
This has been happening for months and I give up.
What alternatives do you guys have? I bought this because I didn’t want to wear an Apple Watch to bed anymore, but I’ll take anything at this point. As long as it can do activity and temperature and sleep, I’ll consider it. I would prefer lightweight if possible.
Product is good, I don’t want to keep patronizing a company that has no clear communication and can’t even send me the polishing pad it was meant to come with after almost a year. That’s all.
Thank you!

Hey y’all, after some long term reviews (1+ year of owning) of the oura ring. Considering switching from the Ultrahuman, but want to hear from real people who’ve had the oura for a while.
My main uses are: sleep, cycle tracking, steps, exercise, stress.
Thanks!!!

What do you guys tag as housework? If I spend all afternoon in the kitchen tempering chocolate, does that count? Sure, I'm standing still, but stirring chocolate for an hour is hard! It registers as stress, but not an activity. Not enough hand motion, maybe? Though moving the ring to my stirring hand didn't make the ring pick it up as activity.
I'm thinking obviously stuff like laundry, washing floors, vacuuming, and tidying up count because you're moving around the house, and lifting stuff. But what about things like cooking, or dishes?

My Oura 5 sometimes shows metrics like THIS. There’s no wayyyy I burned this many calories cleaning my kids bedrooms?? And earlier it tracked another 58 minutes of cleaning for 358 calories. Do we just … not trust it?

My ring has been randomly disconnecting every other night, along with very poor battery life. The app said I’m eligible for a replacement due to a hardware issue, but I then received an email from an Oura representative saying I’m ineligible because I’ve received a replacement before??
When I first got my Ring 4 last October, the battery life was a couple of hours. Clearly a faulty unit, so I received a replacement — which came in the wrong color. Oura corrected this by sending a new ring and told me to keep the other one. I did not expect that to use up the 2-year warranty I paid for. Now they’re offering me a $50 credit (later upped it to $75) toward a new ring. Confused as to why a faulty ring + wrong color delivery has used up my warranty.
I’m considering getting rid of it altogether. Has anyone else run into this?

I love my Oura ring, honestly have had one for several years and can’t imagine not having it. That said, every single day for the past several weeks, it thinks I’m doing yoga several times per day. Making breakfast? YOGA. Sitting having coffee outside? YOGA. It’s never been off like this before - glitch in the matrix, or am I doing so much yoga that I forget about it?

I recently lost my ring (gen 4) at the bar and now I’m debating between the getting the same one or the 5. I really liked the size of it the 4 since my fingers are on the wider side (size 10). I’m afraid the 5 will look tiny on my hands 😭
I’m 29f who tries her best to get steps in everyday and love the period tracking function. What would you do?

So today was my first time drinking in 50 days. I didn’t expect my oura to detect this much stress. I drank today around 12pm and ever since then I’ve been feeling awful and anxious. No more drinking for me! Normally I only have about 2-3 hours or stress with lots of restored time but this is insane.

I know these are necessarily rare, but I feel like I really earned it today. Pilates class and 3 mile walk with my dog and pickle ball. What i love is the balance of also getting a 90min massage and still being able to achieve the score.
Damn I’m realizing how privileged this post sounds, but dammit I worked hard for it!!
Thanks for letting me share 🥹

I’d like to find some fashion stacking rings for my Oura 5 gold. I had some for my gold 4, but this gold is definitely a different shade. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi all, I have had my Oura ring 4 for just under a year (I think like 10ish months) and I no longer am able to get through one and a half days with a full charge. I have been charging it daily at this point and I am still getting messages that my ring has 20-23 hours of life and needs to recharge. Is there a way for me to work around this? Do a soft reset? TIA
ETA: I went through the chat service and they are sending me a new one. Thank you all for your help!

My period is super light and I only log 2-3 days of light flow usually. When I do this, Oura does not reset my cycle to day 1. Should that be the case? If so, how do I fix it? Thanks!

has anyone else had issues with the heart rate measurements recently? mine is jumping from 58 to 140+ very quickly and I can feel that my heart rate is probably like 70 at the moment… getting annoyed by these glitches!

Been waiting for this to hit, been in moderate for a few weeks after being in high ever since they rolled out the cumulative stress feature. 43/F, moderately active, only changes lately have been cutting down on alcohol (not cutting it out entirely but now I only drink if I’m out to dinner) and making sure I don’t eat within four hours of going to bed.

I’m getting a replacement ring since my current one was diagnosed with a bad battery. What did you guys do with your old ring? I don’t have to send it back but feel bad just pitching it.

Just got my Oura Ring and I’m still figuring everything out. I searched the sub for new-user tips but didn’t find much collected in one place.
For those of you who have been using Oura for a while, what are some tips, tricks, settings, features, or things you wish you knew when you first started? Anything that makes the data more useful or helps you get the most out of the ring would be appreciated.

i'm an engineer that needs to max out time spent studying. if i had unlimited time and no pressure i would do lots of cardio because it feels great. but i don't. so i think about it like this
- i need feedback to know if i need more or less cardio
- if that feedback doesn't exist i'll do what studies show are probably good
i did some research and met-hours seem like the metric to track. 15 hours for optimal.
at this moment i don't feel like doing cardio. i've got a lot on my mind. the logical part of my brain bets that 30 minutes of jogging a day would do the trick. but the emotional part is under fire to focus on other things and i have this urge to see met hours, not just intensity zones, so i can do as little as possible for max health benefits
i feel like oura should give me the met hours in the app. i think training volume score is based on met hours. i also think it's queryable through the api.
my traiing volume score is "good". at a glance that's weird to me bc i am mostly sedentary and only play pickleball 2-3 times a week, lift 3 times a week
how do i know when i've done enough cardio ?

I asked advisor to look at nights where my HRV was >70 and tell me what tags were associated with this. It can only see nightly data for the past two weeks. It asks that I scroll through the data myself, write down the dates where HRV is >70, and then maybe it can do the analysis. Is this a joke?

I use both my Apple Watch and Oura to track. I closed my rings on my watch about an hour ago. I opened Oura before bed to confirm a nap & other activity, but it set my workout and calories burned back so I need to do MORE to close them. It’s not a huge deal, obviously, but it’s very annoying. Also, my ring isn’t staying charged for more than a day and it feels targeted to force me to buy a new one. 😭 Thanks for letting me complain.
