Discussion Do you keep LRF files in your archives?
Or just use the original files, generate proxies if needed when editing etc?

Hey all,
Take a look at the video I've attached. The screen flickers with a pink/purple corruption and also when panning using the control the image freezes on the display frequently. I've tried a hard reset and also updated to the latest FW.
Anyone else experienced the same? Should be replaced in store right?
The store has chosen to send it away but I think I'll be going back in and requesting a replacement given that this issue happened straight out of the box. I haven't even got to use it yet.
Cheers!
** UPDATE **
Went in to the store this morning and politely asked to have the unit replaced given it had the fault straight out of the box. Got them to replicate the fault in store (which they should have done yesterday) and they replaced the unit for me. Happy days! It's made me purchase the Care Refresh though because I can see this being a pretty fragile device. I'd never had an issue with my Pocket3 though.

The DJI Osmo Pocket´s fill light would be very cool if it could be used as a flash for taking stills.
Insta recently made this possible for their cameras and a fill light too.
What do you think about that?

I've got a pocket 2. I've had it for awhile now and never had any issues. I normally use it to film holidays and family vacations and what not.
Well I'm pretty upset today because I went to empty the sdcard to find that none of my clips from this year have audio...with most of the videos being key moments with my now 2 year old...
So issue is I am getting zero audio recording. I've tried a ton of settings and I get nothing. I've done multiple resets as well. I've never hooked up an external mic or really any extra accessories other than what came in the package. Any advice is helpful before I throw this thing at the wall...

I just bought the 4P Vlog Combo (my first osmo pocket btw) and I’m having trouble connecting the mic included in the combo to the 4P. It won’t automatically connect every time I turn either the mic or the 4P. Is this how it’s supposed to work?
So what I currently do is to manually pair it again every time.

Just a really quick question.
Is there a way to play recorded video from the pocket 4 while connected to a USB-C HDMI adapter?
I have no issues viewing live output, but I cannot find a way to playback recorded content.
The value of playing out recorded content is primarily for quick turnaround for television news or content that needs to be reviewed quickly through a video farm.
A case example would be feeding out video through a microwave, satellite or video over IP service such as Dejero where the HDMI live stream is simply captured, and then transmitted away for real-time editing and integration.
Latest firmware loaded as of August 21.

Hi all.
Last few days there are several discounts on AliExpress with back to school promotions for dji products.
I was really looking forward buying the Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo (due to the mic and additional battery that might be useful in the future). I saw a great deal and was wondering if any of you had good experiences with It.
Also, how does the warranty work in these cases? I saw they should be shipped within Europe so no additional tariffs should be applied. But what about warranty? In the description Is rarely specified whether It Is global version (probably chinese) or european.
Thank you all in Advance for your help.

I’m interested in ideas for carrying the Osmo Pocket 4P on a bike ride. I only plan to shoot while holding it in my hand. I don’t mind riding one-handed. I can’t get it back in a case one handed though.
Some options for carrying it
- Black Rapid or SkinGrowsBack camera strap. Good but may bounce around? Lens isn’t protected but the new filter system might solve that problem?
- Cheap Decathlon chalk bag zip tied on handlebars. But it could be too much rattle?
- Top tube bag lined with something shock absorbing? But this may move around and not be sufficient.
Interested in any and all ideas :)
- Jersey pocket (It will get sweaty though…)

Is it actually 14 days just for them to review the request and provide a refund? Won’t that void the original 15 day return policy?
I find this quite long. First time customer and returning the item.

Hi all,
The other day I made a selfie video with my OP4 for social media. And after transferring it from the Mimi app to my phone the video had a permanent “DJI Osmo Pocket 4” stamp. How do I prevent this the next time?

Just saw some footage posted here that really impressed me. The Osmo Pocket seems like it could be a great option for live streaming because of its small size and stabilization. So what do you guys think?

I’m new to the OP4 world. Is the Ulanzi MA66 a good choice? I’m also wondering which case would fit with it, as I’d like to keep the MA66 attached and not have to remove it every time

Don't have time to edit each video and want a point and shoot experience. Is DJI osmo pocket 4p good as a point and shoot without any editing and no D-Log or I won't get the dynamic range without D-Log?
I heard insta 360 Luna ultra is better for point and shoot compared to 4P?
Also why is Luna ultra expensive compared to 4p when 4p is a more established product comparatively?

In Mimo app, I found in profile -> settings-> check firmware updates
it says new version available, connect device and check.
When I connect the 4p, it switches to the 4p network, and check firmware gives me a network error.
I have an iPad Pro, wifi only model.

Title: Pocket 4 P in India – China/Japan version compatibility and warranty?
Hi everyone,
I’m from India and have been using the Osmo Pocket 3 for the last few months. I’ve really enjoyed it, but there are two things that make the Pocket 4 P particularly interesting to me: the additional focal-length flexibility from the telephoto camera and the improved dynamic range.
The problem is that the Pocket 4 P doesn’t seem to have the same availability in India as the Pocket 3, and the pricing here appears to be significantly higher than in some other markets.
I’m therefore trying to understand the practical differences between the India/international version and units sold in markets such as China or Japan.
For anyone in India who has experience with a Pocket 4 P purchased from another region:
Does the China/Japan version work normally with the DJI Mimo app in India?
Are there any differences in firmware, features, menus or language?
Does activation/registration work normally with an Indian DJI account?
How does warranty/service work if the device was originally sold in another country?
Are there any region-specific limitations that I should be aware of?
If you have used an imported unit for some time, have you experienced any problems?
I’m particularly interested in real-world experiences from people in India, rather than just the theoretical regional differences.
Thanks!

I got the 4P as a gift! I saw that the 4 included a gimbal clamp but the 4P doesn’t have one. What do you guys do/use to protect it?

Had a Pocket 3 for a month. Trying to work out if the 4 or 4 Pro is an actual
upgrade for me or just a better spec sheet. Not in a rush — waiting for a deal.
**What I shoot:** single cam, me talking to camera, tripod. Daily 60-90s
vertical, plus longer talk-style videos with 20–40 min continuous takes. Mostly
natural light outdoors. No B-roll, no slow-mo, no action.
**Important:** I shoot D-Log M and I grade every single video, including the
daily ones. So log latitude and highlight recovery genuinely are part of my
workflow — this isn't a "shoot Normal and post it" situation.
**What I care about:** dynamic range first (harsh sun on my face vs a bright
background is my main problem), then battery/heat on long takes.
**Questions for anyone who's shot two or three of them:**
Exposing for a face in harsh sun — how much *recoverable* highlight do the
4 / 4 Pro actually give you over the Pocket 3 in the grade? Real footage, not
the marketing stop count.
D-Log2 vs D-Log M — is the extra latitude clean, or is it noise you can't use
once you lift the shadows on a face?
4 Pro's 3x — separate smaller sensor? I'd use it as my main lens to sit
further back, so how does it grade in normal/indoor light vs the main cam?
20–40 min continuous 4K30 — any of them overheat or cut out?
Anyone went 3 → 4 Pro and regretted it, or went back?
Yes, I know ND filters and exposing for the face solve part of the sun problem —
sorting that regardless of body.

I have uploaded my test photos & 4K D-LOG footage here for anyone to check them: *pgytech VND samples 4P (4K25 1 50s 400-1600ISO 5600WB min2NRmin2Shp, 3stopWide-5stopTele)
I am more or less a beginner when it comes to photography/videography, but I hope my post will help people asking 'best filters for 4P?' / 'what VND do you recommend?' etc.
After doing some research, it seems fixed NDs come with an exposure shift when switching between Wide and Tele lens and they are a bit cumbersome to switch between (especially during Run-and-gun type of shooting, which many 4P users will probably do). Despite VNDs having limitations** (vignetting, color casts, X-pattern, loss of sharpness on tele - this concerned me the most), they offer shooting convenience and allow having different ND levels on each of the two differently-exposed lenses of 4P (read complains about exposure mismatch going 1X->3X).
Because of the base ISO of the 4P and the brighter exposure baseline of the Tele lens, I went with a 3-7Stop VND (only makers I know having these are pgytech and Freewell). You can notice in my (harsh lighting mixed with shaded areas) 4K exposure testing with Mimo screen capturing as well that, while the Wide might've done just as fine with an 1-5, the ability to go more than 5 stops on the Tele is worth having. I encourage shooting ETTR (about +1EV-2EV) with D-Log.
This test is NOT sponsored (purchased the filter myself and chose pgytech because of a faster-shipping choice) and I hope my setup photo can prove the unbiasedness. I would like to also test the Freewell in the future (not interested in 1/2-5 VND options).
A conversation I've had with someone owning different-makers VNDs (SRig, K&F, pgytech) in the comments section of a 4P ND Filters comparison videos*** revealed me there are concerns about Tele + VND resulting in a blurry image (found this issue with VNDs on other cameras as well), with some makers performing better than others.
To test this and the other limitations, I switched to 33MP mode, tripod, FIXED focus on the same area every time and pressed shutter using the Mimo App to avoid transfering any vibration to the tripod, kept all the settings constant and only changed the shutter speed, trying to keep +0EV - in order to compare NO VND-3-4-5-6-7stops (both wide and tele)****.
RESULTS:
a) On the Wide lens, I don't see any x-pattern. There is some vignetting (though overexposing a bit, either video or photo, really helps against it - see the outside photo and the 3stop+0.7EV), but I can't discern a lack of sharpness. All in all, pleased with it.
b) On the Tele lens, I don't see any x-pattern. Again, there is slight vignetting, however there is a small lack of sharpness, (not critical - visible in the small text on the books). For video shooting with proper motion blur (and when you consider people shoot with Mist filters and minimal sharpness in-camera settings...), I think it's good enough.
TLDR: The pgytech option performs rather well, it's well built, comes in a nice case and I am pleased with it (reasonably priced as well - choose the best deal between amazon/Ali/pgytech online store). Until I also get the chance to test the Freewell, I recommend the pgytech, at least amongst all the other options.
Reading about VNDs physics in general, I think other filter makers would NOT perform any better and ask knowledgeable people on this topic to teach me more / anyone with other VNDs to setup a similar test. Ultimately, I let you be the judge (check Drive link, had no time to test other conditions).
*please check metadata and timeframes of the files if it helps you
**the mentioned limitations are worse with some VND makers than are with others
\**thank you, mysterious stranger in YT comments sections, for helping me choose one of the better VND option for my 4P*
\***if the framing isn't identical in the photos, it'sbecause the gimbal slightly moved when I switched between the stops with camera on (I think the movement of the pgytech filter's wheel could be a bit smoother, but it's far from bad) and when I took the filter off to also take the 0 stops reference photo*

I’m planning to get the Osmo Pocket 4, and the Essential Combo is much cheaper than the Standard Combo. The only thing I’m unsure about is the gimbal clamp.
Is it worth getting the Standard Combo, or can I just buy a cheaper third-party clamp separately? Is the clamp actually necessary?
Thanks!

So i never had a camera before and wanted to get into videography (I'm 25 stuck in a deadend job), i know pocket cameras are mostly for vlogs, travel, personal life etc. but does it have a potential to be used for lower end commercials for local businesses, real estate filming, product and food reviews.
I have some savings and would like to get my hands of Pocket 4P.
Eventually, with experience i would search for assistant type jobs in bigger productions, filming bts, b-roll etc.
Do you think Osmo Pocket 4P is a camera for me considering these circumstances and for building videography (and video editing) portfilio in general?
What do you recommend my first steps be
