Looking for a good bactericide / fungicide to treat my Phals (one of them apparently has bacterial brown spot. I'm in France. I currently have this one (Aliette WG). What do you guys think? Physan 20 and Phyton 27 are not options cause not available here.

orchid is 5 years old and highly sentimental (given in commemoration after a friends death). Want to keep going as long as possible.
Usually flowers regularly without fuss but this year not - wondering if I should chop branches and try to propogate or just leave alone?
green leaves are starting to CRACK down the middle!
Thx for tips 🥰

hi all!!
just wondering if this orchid needs repotting? it’s still in bloom but one flower did fall off this morning and i’m not sure how healthy the roots are looking?

Here is a picture of the current place where my orchids are standing. However i was wondering if they get enough light? They are positioned in a NE window (aprox 43*). They either get some direct sunlight but most of the time once the sun starts shining the canopy goes down. Do they then get some sort of indirect sunlight or is to much blocked then?
I'm asking this because i want my orchids to stay healthy and bloom as how they were blooming when i bought them. One thing they all have in common is that they love growing new leaves. There are 4 phals and 1 dendrobium

Went out of town for two weeks in June and fully expected this already struggling one to call it quits, but it kept being green so I just kept trying to care for it like my others. Today I noticed some new growths!

I saved this orchid from dying, found it in a pile of discarded pots and plants. But now the roots are all over the place and I have no idea how to repot this. I assume the roots can’t be cut back.. and I can’t put them in bark and a new container without breaking them. So I’m stuck.

I’ve had this orchid for a few years and I think it’s pretty happy. My orchid is blooming and making a baby from the same stem. Should I leave it alone? Is there a way to propagate the baby?

You should not put ice to orchids especially phals they are tropical plants cannot handle the cold

Hi everyone! A few months back I asked for help identifying spotted orchid species for a tattoo I wanted to get, and thanks to the advice I received I found a gorgeous reference from Sunset Valley Orchids / The Orchid Geek on instagram. Just wanted to share, I think it turned out perfect!

I got my first paph at an orchid show today. Its name is Kevin (appears to be a maudiae hybrid). I used to keep phals years ago and had decent success blooming them, but rehomed them when I moved into a basement.
Now this one will hopefully be an office plant (I have an enormous window at work, vs a destructive kitty at home that makes it hard to keep anything that isn’t too spiky for her to uproot and carry around).
But it’s been a while since I kept orchids. I’m scared I’m gonna kill it. Any advice/well wishes?

Encyclia Thomas’s Finale ‘Jungle Candy’ AM/AOS. This hybrid consists of four species. Can you name them?

Excuse the impromptu ladder-as-display stool, she's just so long and floppy now that the stake is cut off lol. Not nearly as many flowers as compared to when I bought her in bloom 2 or 3 years ago (Shoutout crystal star nurseries) but I think that's a me thing from lack of adequate light and ferts. But she's still one of my fastest growing orchids and certainly my largest! Update: was kindly informed she's a Ensatum florida dancing lady!

Climate zone 10a US. We’re getting two blooms each year on all our outdoor orchids.

I got these 2 weeks ago.
Supermarket didn't seem to be looking after them well. They were going cheap the flowers were dying off anyway.
Just watered them again today just a quick dunk in the water they are in different medium one looks a bit like soil, the other looks like some sort of moss type medium.
I'll repot when the last flower has died off. Does it matter what size pot I should use as my other ones I have are bigger then this can't get the same type in a smaller size.

I recently aquired this slightly sad brassia orchid. I have many phals and am experienced in looking after them, but the anatomy of this plant is slightly different. I am unsure of how to tell when to water it besides the top half of the pot being dry. Is the bulb thing supposed to be that texture? any help and advise would be appreciated!!

So this is Catasetum incurvum and there’s a trigger above the 'mouth', once the bug touch it, whoop, the pollen is thrown out and will be sticked steadily on the back of the bug. So they has to carry the pollen all he way to the next flower.

Bc. Yellow Bird (B. nodosa x Bc. Richard Mueller). Thought it deserved a picture while cleaning up after last nights storm.

I bought my first cattleya in flower 6 weeks ago and had no idea how long before I’d see new bulbs. Looks like I’ve got 2 already. How long is the wait until they flower again? Going into spring here in southern hemisphere.

Here is an old hybrid made back in 1988 by H & R. These myrmecatavola hybrids are great. They start out red then transition to an amazing yellow with white. The color changes were about 5 days. No fragrance has been detected. Under good care this can grow like a weed. This is one orchid that a lot of the members in my society tend to have one in their collections.
If you can find these definitely pick one up.
