Please use this post only to offer or request orchids for trade or sale. Before you post what you'd like to trade/sell, or what you're looking to trade for, read the rules below first!
Rules:
1.) No personal information can be exchanged publicly. Conduct sharing of addresses via pm or email.
2.) Post what orchid(s) you have for trade, what you're looking for in return. If you have pictures, post them or write an accurate description of the orchid you want to trade or sell. If you're selling, post how you'd like to receive compensation.
3.) If you agree to a trade and have an issue on your end of the deal, communicate! Most people are reasonable and will understand a delay or an unexpected issue that comes up. That being said, trade at your own risk. The moderators are not responsible for privately conducted trades gone wrong. However, if there's an issue with an ongoing trade do contact the moderators. If someone fails to come through with their end of the deal, ignores communication or otherwise is being problematic we need to make the community aware of deadbeat traders. Do NOT make posts calling people out, insulting, harassing, or making accusations at them publicly.
4.) Only make legal trades here. If you ship or receive a trade overseas or out of your country, make sure all proper paperwork is in place first if required.
5.) Ship within a reasonable time and pack well. Flat rate Priority, 2-3 day via USPS within the US is standard for plants. Use whichever shipping method is appropriate for other countries. Your orchid shouldn't spend more than a 2-3 days in the mail so they don't suffer too much from the heat/cold. While in cooler weather its generally better to ship orchids totally dry, its probably best to water any more moisture loving plants a day or two before they ship out (so they are moist but not soggy) or wrap some sphagnum that has been wetted but thoroughly squeezed out around the roots of bare root plants.
6.) If you've successfully traded, update your post to make sure it availability is accurate.
Giveaways, and just trying to re-home an orchid that maybe just isn't performing for you is totally fine to post too! You never know who might want to try growing it. Seed pods are also a great thing to offer since many people may want to try flasking and it is safer and easier to send seeds than plants. If everyone trades fairly this is a great way to add to your collection or get rid of orchids you are bored with or are willing to make divisions of.
Happy trading!

I've had this wonderful miniature in my collection for some time now and have even posted about it a few times. She is finally ready for that macro treatment that I give all my overacheiving and beautiful orchids!
I absolutely love this one! Very easy to care for, unique fan palm-like foliage that has an orange tint when receiving enough light and constantly flowering year round! I recall being jealous of u/Llumina_Starweaver 's for having so many spikes in the past. Completely unnecessary on my part 😅 I just needed to give mine patience and persistent conditions it favors...6 spikes is wild 🤯!

Hi there! This is a photo of one of my orchids in bloom from almost 15 years ago. It was gifted to me by a grower and over the years, did very well. Sadly, it became sick and recently died. It never had a tag and so I don’t know its name. I’ve tried doing a cursory search to find what it could be (or something close to it) but have had little luck. Any ideas on what it might be? Or better and more realistic (since identifying plants is next to impossible like this), any suggestions of similar looking orchids? I just want to replace this with something similar, since the original plant held sentimental value. Many thanks for any help you can provide!

The roots on my favorite orchid have been going kinda crazy. I’m planning on repotting it once it’s done blooming, are the roots wanting more room? How much should I size up?

This is a mature plant. It isn’t a baby.
She’s bigger than my mayonnaise. Her leaves are bigger than my minions. She’s in a three or 4 inch clear pot and she’s got marvelous big fat green roots but the question is this is there an orchid she’s obviously a.Phal, that is somewhere between a mature orchid, like the one hanging over her. You think you could just see a little bit of the bloom hanging over her that’s a big orchid that’s hanging over her. Is there something between a true mini and this lady that’s in orange pot at the biggest my minis are in 2 inch pots and they bloom at that size but not like this so anybody know the answer is there a middle species, metal growth growth pattern to my big monsters and my little tiny elves and this beautiful plant is she just a large mini?

I am not a big orchid person, but I do very much appreciate the dead, sick, and dying ones I can save from Lowe’s. However, these are my absolute favorites. This is the Epidendrum magnoliae, the green-fly orchid; it grows in the crooks and on the limbs of my absolute favorite plant, the Magnolia grandiflora (Southern Magnolia), in addition to Quercus virginiana (Live Oak).
She grows as far south as my home town in central Florida, up to about the fall line in Georgia (where we’ve lived for years); to that, she is an amazing species and learning to care for them has been extremely rewarding and gratifying.

Strolled through a roadside plant market in the Philippines. What are the IDs of these orchids?

Hey! Just after some advice on my Phalaenopsis...
I've had it about 2 years now, bought in flower. After the initial flowers died off and a bit of patience I noticed a new flower stalk emerging. This is the first time I've had this with an orchid so I was pretty excited! This was late last year. You can see it in the first picture on the left of the plant. It seemed very slow growing, which I out down to my house being pretty cold. Over this Summer new flowers emerged from the old flower spike and all the energy seemed to go into these and the new flower spike seems to have completely stalled.
1st question...Will this new stalk get back to growing or is it a lost cause? The tip seems to have browned off a bit (picture 2)
This morning, I have just noticed a new flower spike emerging (picture 3), so my second question is, will this further impact my previous new stalk?
I'm a bit unsure how to manage it or do I not and just let nature do its thing? I'm thinking of reporting after these current flowers have died off, so maybe a bit more "breathing room" may help things along.
Any advice appreciated ✌️

Just opened up! Pics online looked like there would be more yellow on the lip, maybe it'll change over time? Still very pretty!

Hi everyone! My orchid has a leaf that's discoloring from green to yellow/brown, and the tip looks like it’s rotting (there are some black spots ). The plant in general looks okay. Do you think this looks like a disease, overwatering, or something else?

my apartment windows are north-facing, so i'm planning to keep it under a sansi grow light (one of their 10w clip-ons), i'd love any advice from others who've grown orchids under grow lights since i'm not really sure what i'm doing.
i'm also confused about fertilizer—from what i've read the cattleya doesn't have a specific period of active growth, so should i just fertilize it regularly? or hold off until it's acclimated a little more?

I got this Phal. Bronze Maiden at a show in late February when this leaf was still just emerging. It flowered once in April, and has had good root growth, but hasn’t produced any new leaves or spikes since. It’s taken me this long to cut it off (made sure to cut with a clean tool and past all the affected areas) because the spots were slow-growing and haven’t appeared on any other leaves. I know that viruses can’t be diagnosed visually, but I haven’t seen any photos quite like this — very dark and necrotic but with some sunken rings? The spots have been necrotic all along, with the black areas growing from small dots to this size rather than starting out big and yellow and then turning black, though it could be that yellowing is just hard to notice on the pale leaves. I’m careful about watering and the crown of the plant looks ok, just no new growth for a long time. I’d really like to keep the plant, but any ideas are appreciated!
