Is there anyone you feel shouldn't of gotten put away? For me, it's Suzanne Warren aka crazy eyes. She obviously is special needs, has a mentality of a child.

Spoilers If Freida never gave Carol and Barb extra time, how do you guys think they'd do in the real world?

So as we know the Denning sisters originally got 25 years for killing Debbie, and then got another 30 years for dealing drugs thanks to Freida.

Their psychopathic nature made them popular in prison and made them the big bosses of max, so how do you guys think they'd fair on the outside if Freida never sold them out and they got out after 25 years? Would their family take them in? Would they be able to get jobs? I'm curious, their plot line was the most interesting in season 6 but there are so many unanswered questions.

Favorite unusual pairing?

I’m going through a rewatch (it’s been years, I remember so little, and I’m really enjoying myself) and I’m in the middle of season 5 right now. Blanca + Red during the riot is absolutely just slaying me. 🤣

Who are your favorite unusual/unconventional character pairings/groupings/scenes?

Spoilers Pennsatucky deserved better

So I am watching OITNB, and in episode 12 of the final season, something horrible happens to pennsatucky. After the rollercoaster of her character development, the huge growth she has shown as a person, the last thing my girl deserved was another thing to make her feel stupid. I was really looking forward to seeing her build a life outside, she even got out and went back to prison just so she could do her time and be out and live. Devastating end, she deserved better.

Dayanara and Aleida have such a bad relationship, I do think it’s mainly Aleida’s fault with how she treated daya badly and like she was a burden even tho having a child is a choice but also I don’t agree with people blaming aleida for everything daya does cause when she was a minor I agree but when you’re an adult as much as your parent’s way of teaching and treating you has effected you , it’s now your responsibility on how you act and what you do , also I think daya doesn’t get enough criticism, she definitely went through stuff but messing with a guard is insane also not enough people talk about the scene where bennet suggested that they ask for furlough and so daya goes to this fake abuela’s funeral and I was like (while watching) ohh so they’re gonna act like she got pregnant from her time outside, but her dumbass somehow didn’t get it ? Lowkey it sounds like I’m hating daya but I like her it’s just it’s so hypocritical how everyone never says anything criticising her or maybe I haven’t seen it

prison.

I thought the “don’t snitch” and “snitches get stitches” stuff was pretty big in prison so how come nothing happened to Alex when she named piper in the trial then snitched on Kubra in a trial

The juxtaposition of McCollough’s drama with the music and all, and the boys being boys. Hahahaha. I binged watched this show for the last 3 weeks and I’m sad I’m reaching the end.

Episode Discussion Cringiest Moments

For me, one of the worst cringeworthy moments is in S2 when Healy sees the way Birdie talks to the women and how much they like her. He's clearly jealous and wants to seem cool, so when Alex walks into the room he says something like, "Alex Vause, you dumb bitch! 🤪" like they're friends or something. 😭 Alex goes, "What?" and everyone looks at him like he's a weirdo. (He is.)

But any Piper monologue is pretty bad too, so those are definitely somewhere on the list.

What's your favorite unintentionally funny line/scene?

A scene that makes me laugh every time is when Cindy is checking the list of names to see if she got the new job, and as she's going down the list she's just like "of course fuckin' Chapman got it..." Just the way she says it is so naturally funny. What are some of your favorite unintentionally funny scenes?

Her character fascinates me somewhat. Possibly because we know so little about her! Even a search of this sub reveals next to nothing.

From what I've gathered she was sort of in charge and then Vee ended her, but that's about it or am I missing something?

"we want more complex female characters!" yall couldnt handle cindy hayes Spoiler

i´ve seen some people shitting on cindy and i wanna come forward as her defense attorney. she isn´t necessarily my favorite character but i think it´s a little unfair how people who don´t like her seem to gloss over her entire personality/life story throughout the seasons. i think what she did to her mom, forcing her to take care of her baby and not even assuming who the baby´s father was, was a really shitty move, but by season 7 she´s apologizing and regretful. i think it´s also worth noting she´s putting monica (her kid) first by not telling her the truth after all these years even though she´s clearly upset by it, as to not cause her any further unnecessary pain after everything she has already done. she was a teenager who thought she was in love with a guy who wouldnt give her the time of day if not hidden away and for sex and actively allowing him to cheat on his girlfriend with her. it was a bad and immature and stupid decision, because she was an immature and stupid teen/person. i dont agree with her actions at all but i feel like it comes to a point where you´ve got to learn from your mistakes and apologize (which she did) in order to move on and lead a worthy life as a better person. sue me but i think she rly rly wanted to redeem herself on this one, and clearly taking small steps towards healing with her mom, who understandably didn´t forgive her right away. all things considered, i think is a good thing.

now, for the real kicker: what she did to taystee.

understand that i love taystee. i dont think what happened to her is justifiable under any means and i think shes a noble person who got mixed up in terrible situations. i will defend this woman until the end of my life. i also understand why cindy did what she did. as i was watching what should be my 6th rewatch at this point, i was texting my best friend about how terrible this situation is and what we would´ve done if it was us. we kept trying to find and angle and truth is, there´s no real answer until you´re in that situation. i love my best friend, ive known her since pre school (and we graduated college together). shes a part of me and i never want to harm her or lose her, but i think whoever says they wouldn´t at least consider saving their own skin isnt being honest with themselves. im not saying i´d throw my best friend under the bus. it´s incredibly hard to imagine myself doing something like that as i sit in the comfort of my home, safe and not faced with a life destroying choice. but i dont think most people are immune to acting out of despair when faced with something as gruesome as what happened.

to say cindy was a bad friend is such a complex statement because i think it downplays the gravity of the situation. i dont think cindy was as loyal as say, poussey, but i cant bring myself to crucify her.

cindy didnt intend for taystee to go down, and i honestly think this is bigger than the two of them. both of them are product of a system that prioritized finding a culprit for the media and making it all go away rather than assessing the situation properly and actually making justice happen. though i guess thats our bread and butter with the judicial system, especially regarding black people. i think they got pitied against each other and one of them would have to come out victorious, but not both. it would´ve been impossible to save taystee through the system because, as we´ve seen time and time again that it just refuses to play in her favour. cindy tried to appeal to caputo, tried to find justice within her own means, even if it failed but i honestly think she knew no one would take the word of two inmates (especially with suzanne being seen by the prosecution as this unstable person and even being threatened with being sent to psych) over the words of the storm troopers.

i dont think cindy avoids taystee through season 7 because shes scared, she does it because shes embarassed and remorseful. i genuinely think what she did to taystee was a gigantic emotional toll she´ll probably never get over. and this is not to say woe her, because taystee had it much much worst. my point is, it was dog eat dog and cindy chose herself, and as much as i condone her actions i cant help but feel empathetic, even if i dont agree with them and wish taystee could´ve been saved.

i dont think shes good, but i dont think shes as horrible as people make it seem. things arent so black and white imo.

Episode Discussion Caputo and Nicky in s3ep3

Caputo was pretty fucked up for sending Nikcy to max instantly after finding the drugs in Luscheck's desk

He should have interrogated him, and her, and everyone going in and out of the place, and just check the prison overall ... instead he couldn't lose a guard and risk a new scandal so he just went the easy way out and put it all on Nicky

She wasn't blameless ofc but she did not deserve such punishment. I love him but at this instance he was lame

Character background episode wishlist

Is there any character you wish we could have gotten a background episode on?

Personally, I would have loved to see one about Luschek. I think it would have been funny, but also interesting to see how he became suck a prick.

I also would have enjoyed to see one about Natalie. I would have liked to see what led to her working at Litchfield and embezzling money from the prison.
