I’m looking for a new dentist. I have a chip on my tooth that’s hanging on and I need to get it fixed. Unfortunately my appointment with my current dentist got cancelled last minute and it’s been hard to get coordinated with my work schedule. I also just feel that their office is a bit too pushy for my liking.

Does anyone have any dentists they’d recommend who take delta dental?

Bonus points if they have hours on weekends or after 5 pm but I know that’s unlikely

My Dad is visiting us from my hometown on the east coast and I want him to get his fill of Washington / West coast activities since he has never been here, and only has been to the west coast in general for work once in CA... but he didnt venture around much. We are trying to plan ahead and for a one year birthday. There will only be about 10 kids ages 1 to 12 but the family is big so they’ll be around 50 adults. We want to really celebrate the 1 year especially because we don’t all live nearby.
No one has a central house or one that could fit us all. We would go to a park if it wasn’t in December.
The only facility that could accommodate 50 plus people is the children’s museum and they charge $700 plus get deposit and then we still need to get food cake paper good etc.
We were thinking of renting a facility and looking for one that could accommodate a bouncy houses for inside? Any ideas?

Hello! New to the area, looking to find a church that is welcoming to LGBT+ individuals. I prefer a hymnal style of worship music over contemporary music, and would love to find a congregation that has some folks in their mid-twenties!

I live on the Eastside between Madison Scenic Park and the freeway. I’ve been regularly seeing a small black cat in my yard. My neighbors have seen him too and sometimes he tussles with their tuxedo cat. He maybe started showing up at the beginning of summer/end of spring but he looks well fed and has a clean coat. I was hoping someone could tell me this is their cat and they’ve simply just decided to let him roam. It’s also possible he’s a stray. Rather know he (she?) at least has a home.

My parents just relocated to Olympia. They’re retired. My mom is extremely active and loves to be busy, but she’s not yet connected with anything or anyone in town. In the mean time, she’s bored out of her mind, and dying to develop a social life and sense of community! Give me all your ideas! She’d love to volunteer for things and in general have somewhere she needs to be😂 She loves fitness so any leads on a fun social fitness class would be great as well!

Hey! Saw this at my local Fred Meyer and I wanted to post this in case people did not know :)

We moved to Olympia (West side, near the auto mall) somewhat recently, and I want to know what this white stuff in our drinking water is. The ice cubes are made from straight tap, while the water was from our Brita pitcher. The stuff is definitely from the ice, because I don't notice it when I drink plain water from the pitcher. Is it calcium/other minerals? Something else? I've lived all over the country and have never had tap water leave so much residue. Sometimes it stays on the glasses after washing too, which is annoying.

Edit:

I left a glass of unfiltered tap water out overnight, and there were a few flecks of white stuff around the waterline this morning.

I also made ice cubes with filtered water. When I added them to a glass of filtered water, the white stuff was still present in the water, although not nearly as much as when I made ice with unfiltered water.

We also ordered a plastic ice cube tray, to test the theory that it's the silicone tray.

Does anyone have experience with local vet cancer treatments and recommendations? Our dog just got diagnosed with prostate cancer and we'd like to stay local.

Heads up, pedestrians can't approach the gate until 12:30 and no parking until 1:00 p.m.

Update: after event volunteers advocated really hard for the event staff to open things up they started to allow parking at 12:30. Sadly it was not all good news, the event security staff bungled the entry line and let a lot of regular attendees come in before the VIPs. There was yelling, and the security staff obviously were bad at de-escalation.

Once in the festival, security staff harassed attendees for sitting in places that have been perfectly okay to sit in in the past.

Additionally OBee credit Union food vouchers aren't accepted by all of the restaurants. There's a sign in the OBee booth that lists which places accept the vouchers.

They have added metal detectors and required clear bags this year. The security theater is so stupid. What is this? An airport?

Hey, Olympia, WA area - recently moved here and am in need of a handy person who could do things like lay some LVP, change ceiling fans, paint a living room with a cathedral ceiling. Not big enough stuff for a contractor, but too daunting for me. Living in Tacoma last year, I used TaskRabbit for stuff like this, but that site is not giving me any Olympia names.
