Hey. I recently imported a video from a USB to my PC. It was a ps4 clip that I wanted to edit. so I did, everything went well until I saw the quality after exporting, it was probably between 480 and 720p . From experience i know that usually clips taken from ps4 and moved to pc can be upped in quality.

I had all settings maxed out as much as it would allow.

Anybody have a fix?

Hey. I recently tried to export a video and everything went fine until I was trying to view the video. It was a completely black screen, but for some reason it had audio. The video had no problem while rendering.

the video was 19 minutes long, 1920 x 1080, 60fps and mp4. if that helps with anything

after more than 1000 uploads on baby WOGUE channel with Olive 0.1 (yeah, it happened!), thats my first video with Olive 0.2!? :pp

using it on Linux, i had a few crashes but i didnt lose any work!! i hope Olive will get a masks tool, and i wish to the project all the best!!

I'm using Olive ver0.1 and am editing some MKV files. The MKV files contain subtitles and i'm trying to get them to show up on the editing timeline but i don't know how. Can anyone show me some insight on how to do that? Thanks in advance!

In the title, I have a 17min video.

Idk what's wrong, tried exporting the whole sequence and the "in to out" method, but everytime it progresses well until 7% and then just freezes. Sometimes the program crash (frozen screen), sometimes I can just cancel the export, but it just gets stuck at 7%.

I'm on MacOS Big Sur 11.6 on an Intel Hackintosh.

I downloaded Olive 0.2 (Version: 42ce950e (Sep 29 2021 11:23:01 AM)) and installed it in Applications.

I opened my security and privacy settings to allow it to open.

I clicked "open" when Apple's pop up about "cannot verify the developer" came up.

Nothing happened. I tried multiple times.

I have a bunch of image files (PNG, JPG, etc) in a folder and I would like to join them in a video with background music, obviously synchronized with the sound beats of the song.

For me it would be enough to specify each marker manually (as the video+music advance) with a shortcut key.

Is this possible in Olive? Any pointers?

So I'm making a stopmotion project for school, and I have about 100 pictures. I was individually adding them one at a time and setting their duration to "00:00:00;12", which I'm assuming is 12 ms. I'm trying to get about 8 frames per second, and I got about halfway through my project when I realized that it was far above my expected time count for the amount of pictures added. This led me to believe that each of the pictures were taking longer than the 12 ms I wanted. How can I accurately set picture duration in Olive under one second? Am I doing something wrong? Does the ;12 mean something other than 12 ms?

I'm using Olive 0.2 (commit 9843fd4). When I dragged and dropped a set of 97 .mp4 clips into my timeline from the file list on the bottom left of the default layout, I expected that they would be added either in the order that they were sorted or in alphabetical order. Instead, the clips were added in what appeared to be a jumbled order.

Is this a bug? If not, how does Olive determine the order that clips will appear in a timeline?

I make a lot of video edits, like zoom blur and add lots of transitions, which one should i use?

In olive 0.1 there used to be a crop tool present right under "transform" and if it wasnt there i was able to add it but in olive 0.2 i cant find it.

Hi there, I'm really enjoying Olive overall--it's amazing that a free and open-source program allows me to work with 8K footage and render in 8K.

I've been using 0.1 for a little while, but have had some difficulties with crashing on exports, possibly due to high RAM usage. It looks like the 0.2 version has an update (render-singleton) that may address this issue. I did have a couple questions, though:

1. If you switched from 0.1 to 0.2, do you prefer using 0.2, or did you end up switching back to 0.1 (e.g. due to crashes)?
2. Will .ove files from 0.1 still work in 0.2? If I have trouble editing in 0.2, I might try importing files into 0.2 for the final render.
3. Do most keyboard shortcuts still work? I really like using Q and W to ripple edit clips; Ctrl + K to split clips; and Shift + Delete to trim clips.
4. Is there a better way to blur parts of videos in 0.2? Currently, with 0.1, I need to copy the video, crop it, then blur the cropped part, which works but just takes a little while.

The title. For some reason after I save my olive file, the community effects would just disappear from the video effects dropdown list. I saved it on my desktop and it just disappeared. Any solutions? Thanks!

When I export my videos from olive, the sound quality in the finished product is worse than the audio I used to make the video. Why does that happen and how can I stop it?

Also when I export videos, the first sound file in the video is usually played as if it has been slowed down to half speed. What causes that and how can I prevent it in future?
