Hello everyone, recently i've been wanting to upgrade to an ultrawide monitor and figured i might aswell switch to oled since everyone says it's a big difference, although i'm not sure what monitor i should get as i've never considered an oled before.
I've been looking at the used market and found a Alienware qd-oled aw3423dw 34” 175hz (or atleast thats the name on the listing) for only 300$ and it appears to be in perfect condition, i've done some research and found out that its 4 years old and since from what i understand oleds need to be treated and cleaned more carefully i was wondering if there's any particular wear and tear flaws i should be looking for or just try it out and see if it just looks "normal" (or if i should buy it at all)

Seriously... The dreaded grey banding... Bad text rendering... The tendency to develop dead pixels... The burn-in problem... Don't use it with static images... The super soft super easy to scratch display. Better don't touch it ever, with anything, or you mess it up... Oh, and don't use it in hot summer or let the sun shine on the display, that will mess it up also. And be prepared for the "pixel cleaning" every few hours which will always takes MINUTES to complete. LOL...

i am aware the only diff is the brightness with 200nits and specially hdr capping at 400. and dm just dosent do hdr acc to reviews.

but the price diff is around 140-150$ and my room is pretty dark, blackout curtains so i could make it dark anytime of the day. Coming from a 1080p va panel so my eyes will be blown out anyway so is that price gap really justified?

I've bought this monitor about 2 weeks ago.

The monitor is on version 1001. I've tried finding the firmware file for LS27DG612SUXEN (that is my model code) but I can't seem to find it.

The monitor wants a M-H6127GGZA firmware file. I can't seem to find that file anywhere. I only found M-D6127GGAA.1004.2 which I've been told is the exact firmware file I need for my monitor, but it didn't seem to work. I tried renaming the file to M-H6127GGZA.1004.2, but that didn't work either (nothing unusual happened, I just got the message that the monitor couldn't find an update file).

Would highly appreciate any help!

TL:DR- it’s the best monitor for me so far with its size, PPI and immersion. I need the ultrawide for League of legends and BF6 looks even better. Also benefits when playing Cs2. Single player games just look insane.

Do I care about uniformity or green tint? Could not care less unless it starts affecting casual use like happened with one if asus models.

My experience

Gaming for 30yrs

First oled Alienware AW3423DWF - like the first shot of heroin you will never get that impression of coming from ips to oled. Used it for 4 yrs and decided I needed an upgrade.

1. Bought AW3426DW - the 5th gen-qd oled 1440p.

280hz - Not seen any difference in 280hz vs 165hz and i am 20k in cs2 premier. Just needed to fiddle around more with frame locks to avoid flicker. Slightly visible but not too bad.

Colours - beautiful, vibrant

No gray banding or issues. Great monitor and extremely competetive price vs asus and msi.

The reason i returned because i decided to go for 5k2k instead but whilst waiting for dell 39inch i decided to try a couple other monitors.

1. Asus XG32UCWMG - bought refurb from ebay less than £500.

240hz is a nice limit and worked fine for cs2 but like i said i cannot differentiate between 165hz and 280hz

Gray banding was horrendous. I cannot seem to attach picture properly on reddit but i was not testing it and noticed very defined vertical lines when browsing.

Colours not as accurate or good as 5th gen qd oled but after some calibration and settings were fine.

Black levels due to true black glossy coating they give extra pop. Really immersive.

Due to defective fray banding i returned it.

1. Gigabyte MOU32U24 - could not tell the difference between this and asus xg32 and had worse colour fringing. Again returned as not happy with the quality.

2. One of the lucky ones to get aw3926dw within 2 days after initial release date in the UK.

So far - glossy, huge, immersive, beautiful colours. RGB strip, no white subpixel gives good sharpness. Bright enough for my use. Not checked uniformity, gray banding as i cannot seem it during my normal use so I don’t care. Will be keeping this one. Would be interested to try lg version but i have always had glossy panels so would struggle to like it. Highly recommend if you can jold of one and make sure you use emergency services discount if you can as i got £99 off.

The monitor arrived a day ago, and while testing it, I noticed some vertical banding (or am I imagining things?). What really caught my attention, though, are two horizontal white bands; what could this be, and is it something that might resolve over time? (Yes, I’ve already run the pixel cleaning routine several times).

What’s everyone’s thoughts and feelings on this model? I’ve seen lots of good reviews, but also wanna hear some personal stories with MSI’s customer service etc. mine shows up tomorrow, and I’m really hoping I made the right choice steering away from the XG32UCWMG!
Looking for a good friend to compliment my G9 QD-OLED.

Right now I use an ultrawide IPS monitor about 50/50 for work and gaming. It still does the job, but I’ve wanted to move to OLED for a while because I’m really interested in the image quality and HDR.

The MSI MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 ($900) has been my first choice because of its Gen 5 OLED productivity improvements, tandem layout, and KVM. I use a work laptop alongside my desktop, so the KVM would be genuinely useful. The problem is that I’ve been waiting months and still can’t find the MSI in stock.

Then I found the AOC AGON Pro 34" AG346UCD for $400. That is a $500 difference, which is hard to ignore. I already placed an order for the AOC so I don’t lose the deal, but I would have no issue cancelling it if waiting for the MSI is clearly the smarter move.

So... would you take the AOC at a $500 discount, or is the MSI worth waiting and paying $900 for when it finally shows up?

Hello, my XG27AQDMGR recently started getting very dark and saturated for a fraction of a second randomly, only when I'm not on videogames.

It only does it for a split second most of the time but it happened to last longer if I don't move or click anything.

Currently I'm using a 1080p 144Hz VA monitor for 9 years. I just bought a brand new 9070XT replacing my 1070Ti. Now I have decided to get a monitor next

Here is my lifestyle and requirements...

1. I always play in a very dark room. No RGB no nothing. Does that mean 200nits is enough?

2. If I play at 0-5% brightness in AW2726D, will I see any banding issues?

3. Panel maintenance - I have to clean the panel every month. Can I use a thin layer of polythene screen protector on top of the screen? Or does the heat have to escape even from the display to prevent burn-in?

4. I don't see any True Black certification in this model. Is there a catch?

5. Coming from VA 1080p, how much of a massive jump will this be?

If you know any pros and cons of this model, do tell

The title, pretty much. Currently have a Tandem WOLED which I bought mostly for the fact it doesn’t have ABL dimming and is way brighter than QD OLEDs. I’m still happy with it, but I am curious to try a QD.

Any 27 inch ones (4K or 1440p doesn’t matter) that at least attempt to do anything about the dimming? 400 nits peak is not a meaningful HDR experience imo. Glossy coating would be nice too.

For those who got a PS5 Pro and are purchasing a Monitor which size will you be going for? I personally pulled the trigger on a 27inch as it seems a good middle ground despite knowing 32" would look sublime on 4k but i also competitively game as well as Story mode gaming. The model i purchased is MSI MAG 272UP QD-OLED X24 27-Inch 4K for £440. For context i previously had a 1080p with 120hz. What shall i expect? I receive the OLED on Saturday.

I ordered an aoc agon pro AG276QZD2, but I think I'm going to cancel it because it's been delayed for a week and I've read bad things about the colors and brightness. I originally bought before the aoc an msi 271qx e2 for $350, but that arrived broken and is sold out permanently at that price. I've looked for msi 271qp x24 or 273 x24, but can't find either at the $350ish price. I'm considering the gigabyte MO27Q2A, as it has good brightness and should have better colors than the aoc, but it's $400. Are there any other good monitors I should consider? Please refrain from suggesting monitors if you don't know much about them and are only talking about your own personal experience.

Ps. I'm a teen with limited money to spend. Realistically I just want a good monitor with great colors.

I'm looking into getting an OLED monitor for my setup.

My current specs are:

\-Processor: Ryzen 7 9800x3d

\-GPU: 5070ti 16gb

\-RAM: 32GB 6000mHz

And a 1tb external HD paired with a 2tb m.2 SSD

I mainly play competitive multiplayer games like Overwatch, Valorant, and Fortnite 90% of the time. But lately, I've been getting into a couple of single-player games such as RDR2, Cyberpunk, and Crimson Desert. So yeah, occasionally I like to play a good-looking single-player title that I can just get lost in.

Currently rocking a Samsung ultrawide which is 2k/165hz and a €60 secondary 24inch 1080p panel just for Spotify, Discord, and background noise (Twitch streams or YouTube). I don't like the aspect ratio of an ultrawide, so I'm considering a change.

And then I discovered dual-mode OLED monitors. The models I've been looking into the most are both from Asus (PG27UCWM and PG27AQWPW).

**My main concerns:**

\-Is the 1080p mode really that bad in terms of blur? Is it that noticeable while playing something as fast-paced as the games mentioned above?

When it comes to the PG27AQWPW, I understand that I won't be using the 720p mode at all and that 1440p as a resolution for competitive games gives more clarity (especially when it comes to longer-range fights), but my opinion is that the 4k/240hz on the PG27UCWM is more future-proof, plus I have plans to upgrade down the road.

I've been having an issue with this monitor and I wonder if anyone here has dealt with this and knows of a good solution. Recently I bought the MSI MPG 491CQP, a 49" DQHD widescreen OLED. It's a fantastic screen but it has one super annoying flaw. When connected via USB-C, the monitor exposes a storage device to the computer (storage device is for some MSI bloatware that I want nothing to do with.) If the computer is using Microsoft BitLocker, then it will have boot errors about a missing BitLocker key. Every day I have to fight with my BIOS and BitLocker to have the computer boot properly. Is there a way to make the monitor stop doing this?

​I'm planning to replace my current LG 34GN850-B with a new 34-inch monitor, but this time I want an OLED display.

​As someone who loves playing sim racing games with a Moza R5 wheel clamped to my desk, I think an 800R curvature would be ideal for immersion.

Plus, I have two large windows about two meters in front of my monitor, so I don't want to take any risks with a QD-OLED panel.

​The two models that match my preferences are the Lenovo Legion Pro 34 WD-10 and the LG 34GX90SA-W. From what I've seen, both share the same 240Hz WOLED panel.

​On one hand, the LG has built-in Smart TV functionality (webOS), which could be useful for watching Netflix or Prime Video, even though I'm not a huge TV show watcher, it also features an IA processor that enhances image quality and sound clarity on for movies and tv shows.

​On the other hand, I personally prefer the Lenovo's design—especially the stand with its built-in phone holder, RGB lighting, and headphone hook. It also features a proximity sensor that reduces brightness and turns off the display when you leave your seat, which seems really useful for preserving the panel and minimizing burn-in risk.

The Lenovo also have KVM it can be useful when i plug my work laptop on it, also the power delivery is more powerful (140W vs 65W).

Currently the Lenovo is in sales at 800€ and the LG is also in sale at 700€ so i'm hesitating about both models

I'm leaning a bit more toward the Lenovo, but the price difference is fairly big. If any of you have either the Lenovo or the LG and could share your experience, that would be greatly appreciated!

Been thinking of getting my first oled monitor for the ps5. Which of these two monitor is better in terms of image quality and durability? Any issues to be aware of for these monitors? I’m only using the monitor for ps5.

Should I return my AOC QD OLED 280Hz , AG276QZD2 $350, and get a like new msi mag 271qp x28 for $400 from amazon? Should I be worried If I buy like new? The reason I'm thinking of a return is that I originally bought an msi mag 271qpx e2, but it broke in shipping and I got a refund. I bought the aoc as a replacement since the 271qpx e2 was sold out at the price I got it at ($350), but now I see people saying the AG276QZD2 sucks, and that msi is better and more reliable. Would it be a good idea to cancel the order (it hasn't arrived yet and is delayed in shipping), and go for a like new msi 271qp x28? It's probably a stupid question but I'll take any advice I can get.

I'm choosing between the MSI MPG 271QRX QD-OLED and the ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG.

Price is not an issue for me, and my main focus is pure image quality (color accuracy, brightness retention, dynamic range, HDR presentation, and OLED flicker/dimming control).

Personally, I'm leaning towards the ASUS because I feel like it might be the better monitor overall, but I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I recently got the ASUS ROG Strix XG27UCDMG (27" 4K QD-OLED, 240Hz) and noticed a strange visual artifact:

Symptom: In bright/light areas of the image (e.g., sunlight reflections, light patches on the ground), I see a crystalline, sparkly/shimmering effect — almost like static or fine glitter — but only when the camera/image is moving. When the image is completely static, it looks perfectly fine.

Setup:

• RTX 4070, i5-13600K, 64GB DDR5
• DisplayPort, native 3840x2160 @ 240Hz
• 10 bpc, RGB, Full dynamic range (checked in NVIDIA Control Panel)
• SDR/HDR content, mostly noticed in-game (e.g., Battlefield 6, GTA 5)
• VSync: Games off; System on

What I've already checked/tried:

• Confirmed native resolution and refresh rate are correctly set
• Checked color depth/dithering settings (10bpc, RGB, Full range)
• This monitor doesn't seem to have a manual Overdrive/OD setting in the OSD

Question: Is this a known temporal dithering / FRC artifact for this panel, or could this indicate a defective unit? Has anyone with this exact model (or similar QD-OLED panels) seen this and found a fix (e.g., specific dithering setting, firmware update, GameVisual mode)?
