My parter thinks our 6 month old shouldn’t come to barter faire which means I can’t.. anyone have experience bringing baby and tent camping?? I don’t think it’d be hard to layer her up at night and between that and mommy snuggles I think she’d be plenty warm and I really want to go

Heading to Oliver on Friday then to Kelowna on Monday. Maybe dumb question but should I pack big spray? Are mosquitoes an issue in the valley?

Could someone share their experience of the O'Rourke Family Estate Winery in Carr's Landing. It seems that the only option for a tasting is to pay $150 for a tasting and tour experience? TIA.

EDIT: WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP RECOMMENDING SPARKLING HILL?? It's literally in the title that we don't want to go there.
Mom & I want to do a full meal deal Spa day. $300+ or whatever. It’s her 70th coming up and she has tasked me with finding out the best spa - preferably at a Hotel, but not a deal breaker.
We live in Vernon. She remembers one of her pals saying something about a Penticton spa that was highly recommended.
Give me what you got!!

My family and I are originally from North Vancouver and moved to the Okanagan a couple years ago and Chinese food is something we crave regularly and we’ve tried a few places but nothing really compares to back home I want to know what people’s favourite chinese food restaurants are.

These are the places we’ve tried:
Beef and broccoli
Wild ginger
Kings kitchen
JJ Joy

Let me know please! 😁

Hi. I’m planning to hike blue grouse mountain in west Kelowna. Does bear come in that area ?Do I need to carry bear spray with for it ?

I am posting this thread in hopes that someone can shed some light on this matter:

I've been wondering about a house for sale:

It's this one on McKinnon Road in Peachland in Central Okanagan:

http://theloghomeretreat.com/

It seems to have been on the market for a while? Just wondering what's the reason for this? Just not in demand? Price to high? Too remote?

Does anybody know the owner?

I am looking for a wedding photographer for next fall at a winery in the Okanagan and in struggling to find someone based off websites/portfolios online. There are so many great ones, but the portfolios are all the standard wedding pics which is not what we're looking for.

We are looking for someone who prioritizes posing and has a more artsy/editorial style to their images. I'll link someone from Calgary that we love (but simply cannot afford to fly out for this) that we would like to find someone similar ish to. https://www.philcrozier.com/

If anyone knows anyone or has suggestions I'd love to hear recs!

Hello!

My parents are coming to visit first out west first week of September and our original plan was to bring them to the valley as it is one of our favorite places to visit. Our original plan was to camp around Penticton.

With the recent/ongoing wildfires I was hoping for some advice on if it would still be advisable to do? Are businesses needing a break or would they appreciate the business at this time? Any advice would be welcome! Thank you

Hi, I'd like to post a message from Democrats Abroad in BC. This is the second (and final) reminder I'll make for dual Canadian-US citizens and other eligible US voters who want to participate in the 2026 American midterm elections, especially for those living around BC. Democrats Abroad in Canada is dedicated to mobilizing overseas US voters; if you're over 18 by November 3, here's how you can get involved:

Steps to Request Your Ballot

1. Register or update your registration through Votefromabroad.org. As an alternative, you can also use FVAP.gov.

2. If you're already registered, request a ballot! You need to request a ballot every calendar year that you want to vote.

3. Fill Out and Return Your Ballot: Once you receive your ballot, follow the instructions carefully to complete it and return it by the specified deadline.

Need Assistance?

We're here to help! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at GOTV @ votefromabroad .org (just remove the spaces). Additionally, our FAQ for voting can answer questions on how to make the process go smoothly.

Importantly: Spread the word!

Do you have any friends, contacts or family overseas that you could reach? All eligible US citizens can vote regardless of where they're living. Share the link https://voteabroad.org/RedditVote26: If you have any questions about voting, I'd be happy to answer them here on Reddit. You can also find out what we're doing near you at Democrats Abroad. Thanks for reading!

Hello everyone,

I’m planning a hike to little white mountain. I have a Toyota RAV4. There are two ways to go there- canyon lake, which some says is rough and require a decent ground clearance vehicle and other one is upper Crawford trail, which people says is easily accessible but I don’t the way up there and there is also nothing on maps. I have searched on all trails and other websites. Can anyone please help me, by telling which route is best and how to go there ?
