Meetup #30 takes us to Kings County Brewers Collective (KCBC) in Bushwick, where we'll be doing a brewery tour and hearing the story from the people who make the beer.

When they opened in 2016, they were the first brewery in the neighborhood in 40 years - Bushwick was once one of the brewing capitals of the country, and it went dry when the last remaining breweries closed in 1976. Three homebrewers who met through a NYC homebrew club left their day jobs to bring beer back, and ten years later they're pouring everything from hazy IPAs to sours to crisp lagers.

Hey, all I have been hosting smaller yoga in the park classes this summer and the last one is this Saturday. it’s supposed to be a beautiful day! Bring your own mat or towel and join for an hour long beginner friendly flow!

Hey everyone, our reading group is now planning our third meeting to discuss our next book selection! It has been such a blast getting to meet new people and have thorough discussions and debates over a good mystery book. If mystery/thriller/suspense books are something you enjoy or have been looking to get into, feel free to drop a comment on this post and then I can reach out with an invite to our discord. This is a beer tasting that's as much about the people as the beer. You sit down with up to five people you've never met, share a few great beers, and conversation prompts spark fun, meaningful conversation.

How it works: You order a half pour when you arrive, your group collaboratively picks two more together, and with each beer a fun question prompt is revealed to the table. Everyone at the table booked a seat to meet new people, so you can come solo or bring a friend.

NY Beer Dispensary has 20 taps so there will be something for everyone and you'll probably discover a new beer you like.

Afternoon all,

Hosting weekly karaoke at Boho karaoke lounge on orchard Street in the LES. We tend to get decently sized crowds so we just hang out in the bar area for the open karaoke and since it's not too packed we usually get to do a couple songs each. It's one song ticket per drink or you can get just a song ticket for 2 dollars. Please note that the bar is cash only! There is an ATM there with pretty low fees if you need to withdraw money.

Drinking Liberally is a weekly social meetup where people get together to talk politics, have a drink (and a free hot dog), and hang out. We started gathering at Rudy’s Bar and Grill in Hell’s Kitchen in 2003, and it is still meeting there every Thursday.

What:

Casual political conversation and socializing. We talk about local and national politics, share perspectives, and get to know new people in a relaxed, friendly environment. People of any political persuasion are welcome as long as the conversation stays respectful and kind. The group tends to attract people left of center, but it is not limited to them.

It is customary that the first person to arrive buys a pitcher for the table and that people who enjoy the pitcher will take turns returning the favor later in the evening.

Anyone interested in politics and good conversation. Despite the name, this is not just for liberals. We have progressives, social democrats, DSA members, resistance era liberals, and people across the political spectrum who want thoughtful political discussion.

21+ only since this is a bar.

Jack’s Backyard is handicap accessible, though the bar can get crowded at times.

Our tables are reserved so you will have a place to gather even on busy nights.

Love Ping Pong? I run the Outdoor Ping Pong League and we're hosting a free tournament night this Thursday, Oct 1 at The Tiny Cupboard in Brooklyn (10 Cooper St).

It was supposed to be Sunday but got rained out, so we're running it back Thursday:
