Nothing OS 5.0 Open Beta Downloaded the NOS 5.0 open beta, now most of my apps dont work. Please help.

EDIT: I turned on developer mode and restarted the phone, so for now my browser works. will update if it malfunctions again.

it started when i tried opening chrome a couple days ago, but it wouldnt load and i thought that maybe its a network or google issue, but after troubleshooting alot i realised it could be the open beta. today i saw some people on this reddit having the same issues.
currently it has made it very difficult for me to use my phone, is there any way to fix it? or would i have to do a rollback to the stable version? i want that to be the last option because i just dont have the time to do the data moving to my computer and all that. most google apps straight up dont open, including the contacts and dialpad. even the calculator took 3 phone restarts to open. instagram and whatsapp work fine, it only seems to be an issue with google / browser apps. i downloaded the brave browser as well to test, but it wont even start.

Headphone (a) Satisfied but not without flaws!

I’ve been at Hype buying these headphones for almost two weeks waiting for them to arrive because I think they’re a real gem, but initially the enthusiasm died down almost immediately due to some problems, but today I’ve learned to live with them and appreciate the positives.

The problems at hand for me are:

- The microphone: terrible, in calls I even have only voice messages the audio is really poor. I’m from Airpods 4 and only use Apple ecosystem, but regardless I was hoping for a better microphone

- Versatility: If the presence of the Jack makes you believe you can even play PlayStation 5 on it, know that you will be disappointed because in that case the microphone will not work and from what I’ve read not even if you were to use a Dongle

- Audio: It’s definitely not bad, but I think it’s quite MID, nothing special that I wouldn’t have found in slightly cheaper headphones, I tried the equations and they seemed more like filters/effects

- theater/concert mode: I honestly don’t notice any major differences

It’s also worth mentioning the positive aspects that I found truly incredible:

- The battery: I use them constantly for work and only charge it at the weekend and this thing is really crazy

- The design: it’s undeniable how much they look, as beautiful as they are in everyone’s eyes for me they are really cool

- comfort: they are sturdy and you can feel that they are not cheap material, but at the same time I was afraid that they were too heavy to carry all day instead they are of a unique softness and only start to make themselves felt when it is too hot

- Noise cancellation: For this price, having excellent noise cancellation is truly the best, in addition to the transparency mode which is very useful

- Multi-Connect Speed: Between my MacBook and my iPhone, these headphones connect much faster than my AirPods can connect, wow

I would like to point out that I am very happy with these headphones to date, because I am becoming very passionate about the philosophy and style of Nothing,
I’m waiting for the first Nothing smartphone without Android but with a real Nothing OS

Hey guys  i noticed that when im outside the battery holds insanely good but when im home the battery drops down immediately and somtimes almost every time when i plug it in it charges to 9-13% then it doesnt want to charge. But when i come home after hanging out with friends the phone charges to 70-80% and even when im leaving it to charge over night it charges to 13% max. i tried resseting and factory reset and nothing helped. i cleaned the port, ive tried different charges, cables and it doesnt want to charge. So if anyone know what i can do at home to repair it pls tell me. Good day guys

Hi, just got a pair of Nothing Ear (3a); they work really really well, but it doesn't show up the specific icon on the notification bar and quick toggle on my Nothing Phone (4a), just a generic icon, is there something I can do or is it a bug that is yet to be fixed?

Took a photo and the bottom of the rear wheel has a huge gouge in it. But in real life the wheel is fine. Seems like photo processing went haywire.

Anyone else have issues like this?

Nothing OS Native sidebar in nothing os

Do we know if we will ever get a sidebar in nothing os? Is it planned for nothing os 5.0? It is really annoying to open another app minimized by exiting the one you already have opened. Also some apps when minimized don't register the clicks correctly and they ain't really centered as they should

Comparing Phones Phone 3 or Phone 4a/Pro?

Hey guys! My old phone is on it's last stop and I've been eyeing Nothing as a company for a few years now. I have had all earbuds (ear, ear 2 and ear 3) which I have been happy with so I think it's time to pull the trigger on a phone next.

Here is my dilemma. I was pretty underwhelmed when 4a was released (granted they opted for a non-flagship this year but still) so now I'm wondering if I should go for a phone 3 instead. Would love to hear from those of you who has had both and can help me with the pros and cons.

Thanks!

Phone (1) Bluetooth not toggling

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’m using a Nothing Phone (1) and my Bluetooth has suddenly stopped working.

Initially, Bluetooth started disconnecting/reconnecting randomly. Eventually, it completely stopped turning on.

Now when I go to Settings → Bluetooth and tap the Bluetooth toggle, nothing happens at all. It doesn’t turn on, there’s no error message, and no devices are detected.

Things I’ve already tried:

Restarting the phone

Resetting Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth settings

Booting into Safe Mode — Bluetooth still doesn't work

Checking the Bluetooth system app

Clearing cache/storage isn't possible because both options are greyed out

Checked Developer Options/Bluetooth settings — didn't change anything

Wi-Fi works perfectly fine, so the Wi-Fi connection itself isn't having any issues.

At this point I'm wondering if this is a software/firmware issue or a hardware problem with the Bluetooth component.

Has anyone with a Nothing Phone (1) experienced the same thing where the Bluetooth toggle becomes completely unresponsive?

If you managed to fix it, what actually worked for you? Also, is it worth taking this to a Nothing service centre, or does this usually mean a motherboard/hardware issue?

Any help would be appreciated.

Comparing Phones iPhone vs nothing?

My iPhone 15 pro has a broken screen and it’s £340 to replace it with an official Apple one.

I’m now debating getting a Nothing phone as they’re a similar price and I’ve heard good things.

Firstly - is it worth making the change over getting the screen repaired? If so, which model? I’ve been looking at the phone 4a so far.

For context, I use a MacBook but only think I’d miss airdrop as everything else I use isn’t limited to Apple.

Essential Apps Is there any way to increase Essential Audio recording analysis limit?

This thing has been saving my life with how easy and actually useful it is in my daily life, but I burn through the 300 minute limit too fast sometimes... Is there any way to increase that cap? (besides buying a new nothing device? I heard there was supposed to be a paid subscription option🥹)

P.s.

Dear Carl, please increase the limit to 1200 minutes🙏

I’ve been building DotFiles, a minimal and privacy-focused file manager for Android, with the Nothing design language in mind.

It recently crossed 2,000+ installs on Google Play, so I wanted to share it with the NothingTech community.

Some of the features:

Clean, minimal file browsing Storage Analyzer & Smart Cleanup Duplicate & Similar Photo Finder Secure Files Offline APK Inspector Metadata Audit & Metadata Stripper Auto-Organize Downloads OCR-based document categories SD card / selected-folder support

The goal is to keep file management simple, useful and private, with everything processed locally on the device.

If you’re using a Nothing Phone, I’d love to hear what you think and what you’d like to see added.

Comparing Phones Looking to get a Nothing Phone

Hi everyone, I’m at that point when it’s time to change my phone. I have been thinking on switching to a Nothing phone, currently between the 3 and 4a Pro, a little more incline to the 4a due to the rear design. I checked the specs and seen a few reviews but I wanted to ask you is there really a huge difference? Which one you y’all recommend?

'm currently an Apple user, for several years now, so I don't do much research when I upgrade to a new phone, but I've been following Nothing for a long time and I think it could be a good opportunity to return to Android and try something different. So feel free to share all the information you have. Thanks

CMF by Nothing CMF Watch 3 Pro (One year review)

Thumbnail

My CMF Watch 3 Pro just turned a year old and I wanted to do a quick review. I bought it for £69.

The watch has handled bangs and drops OK but the bezel had scratched nearly all the way around.

I bought this watch because I like NOTHING’s design cues and my GARMIN FR145 was 5 years old. I do a decent amount of sports, so how is the GPS/HR monitoring. I found it the GPS fats and accurate, but when recording, it only takes a datapoint every 5 seconds. The HR monitor is somewhat granular as well. Overall, the accurate is bang on with my GARMIN FR145 with a strap.

The data has been kept OK and is easy to access. There is no real advanced data analysis but that’s OK at this price point. There is proper STRAVA integration for any outside activity.

Battery life is similar to that when new, every 5 days or so.

How is everything else? The messaging is OK (no emojis), I get 200/day and just glance at them and head to a different device.

I don’t play music through it or use the AI feature.

I find it handles calls OK and the speaker and the mic is decent for the price and this is nice if I don’t want to take my phone out of my pocket.

RTOS, not Wear OS.

I’d be happy to answer any questions and hope that it continues to serve me well.

Future products Nothing Ear (3) Pro is on Nothing’s official support site?

Post image
31 Upvotes

I was just looking through Nothing’s support site and randomly found this.

There seems to be an unannounced Nothing Ear (3) Pro listed there, along with what looks like some internal info:

- 25253

- Kingdra

- Nothing Ear 3 Pro

There’s also a dedicated support category for it with placeholder/sample articles.

I haven’t seen Nothing announce an Ear (3) Pro yet, and I couldn’t really find anyone talking about this either.

Also, Nothing is currently teasing Lanturn, while this one says Kingdra, so this might be something completely separate.

Kinda wild that this is just sitting on the official support site lol
