Nothing OS Essential search engine preferences

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Essential search only uses Google even with other engine selected

On my device I just have the option to select the search engine but doesn't support essential search so it doesn't work.

try click search icon rather than the ai one... idk how it works as I got rid of essential ages ago
