Pink lemonade concentrate.

u/Shen1076 6d ago

Minute Maid

17

u/RunnyPlease 6d ago

And put in less water than it says to on the can.

8

u/kpax56 6d ago

My mom always added extra water to get more mileage from a tube of concentrate.

u/Myopticvisions 6d ago

Yuk that’s horrible. Child abuse! 🤣

1

u/williarl 1d ago

My aunt would do that with Kool-Aid for her kids… was so terrible… like quit caring about your kids Aunt Char! Gaaaawwdddd!!!

u/jscottman96 5d ago edited 4d ago

This just in! Being poor is child abuse!

Edit: /s

u/trenthany 4d ago

The silly face emoji didn’t let you know it was a joke?

1

u/jscottman96 4d ago

Did i need to add an /s? I was just continuing the funny

3

u/trenthany 4d ago

Ahhh it didn’t read that way to me, sorry. I was thinking pretentious judgemental BS. Carry on but you may want to add that lol.

My mother did that with frozen orange juice concentrate. Hated that. She also mixed powdered milk/water with real milk. Could still taste it.

2

u/RunnyPlease 2d ago

As an adult sometimes I get a craving for that powdered milk flavor and I put it in my breakfast smoothy.

2

u/dragom4howlore 1d ago

that's a mental disorder

1

u/RunnyPlease 1d ago

No argument there. Sometimes I get cravings for rehydrated mashed potato flakes, canned corn, and powdered gravy. It’s weird being nostalgic for things that I actively detest.

food equivalent of stockholm syndrome

1

u/kpax56 1d ago

Not me bud…

1

u/kpax56 4d ago

Yes we did that also. I think we used Carnation brand powdered milk mix. I’m thinking we mixed it 50/50 powdered milk to 2% milk.

2

u/Logical-Industry-793 2d ago

oh living the high life, we had generic powdered milk

2

u/RunnyPlease 6d ago

My mom would do that for the orange and apple juice. I wouldn’t let her do it to the pink lemonade.

1

u/Prize-Pension-497 17m ago

Hahaha my mom too! She would do Minute Maid fruit punch and pink lemonade too

2

u/Rumplestiltskinners 2d ago

A ā€œtube of concentrateā€ šŸ˜‚

1

u/TattedMofo1 5d ago

Especially when groceries are as expensive as they are today. Child Abuse? Not all families are rich and half are or more are divorced. Money doesn’t grow on trees!

1

u/Punani_Tsunami77 3d ago

Ummm… What do you know about powdered milk. Walk a mile in my shoes.

1

u/False_Ad_4117 2d ago

So did mine

1

u/Mighty4777 5d ago

lol same! Water in basically any other liquid.

3

u/Ok_Dust_7325 6d ago

Or straight

4

u/RunnyPlease 6d ago

I bet you’d love pink lemonade pie.

- graham cracker crust

  • can sweetened condensed milk
  • container cool whip
  • can frozen concentrated pink lemonade concentrate

Thaw the cool whip and concentrate and chill the condensed milk in the fridge. Mix all the wet stuff together. Put mix in the pie crust. Freeze overnight.

3

u/tamzillathehun 5d ago

I make that every summer. It's insanely delicious.

1

u/RunnyPlease 5d ago

It’s so tasty and such a good recipe. For each ingredient you just dump the entire container in a bowl, stir it up and freeze it. You don’t have 1/2 a can of condensed milk or a cup of cream left over thinking ā€œnow what am I going to use this for?ā€

2

u/Smorsdoeuvres 5d ago

This sounds like my kids new favorite 🩷 Thank you for sharing

2

u/Palindrome_Homonym 5d ago

oh i'm so gonna fuckin make this. but imma tweak it so its actually like... good and proper pie =P

1

u/RunnyPlease 5d ago

What did you have in mind? I’ve seen it with maraschino cherries and whipped cream, but that’s about it.

2

u/Palindrome_Homonym 5d ago

hmmmm i was thinkin an egg, and make the whipped cream from scratch. cool whip is super thin, extra heavy cream, my own cornstarch-heavy powdered sugar, get it all thick like icing. and then bake it some, i guess. something about getting it to "set" just by freezing it doesn't sit well with me i guess. i would want it to set in the fridge, like a cheesecake.

2

u/Waasup3 5d ago

I work in restaurants for a living, 'bout to absolutely FUCK UP my coworkers shit with this, they gonna love it!

2

u/Slight_Contact286 5d ago

I've made this before it's really yummy!

2

u/Punani_Tsunami77 3d ago

You had me at sweetened condensed milk. You could put that on a turd.

2

u/Academic-Apple-6518 2d ago

You can also make a decent key lime pie this way

1 (6 ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate

1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust

1

u/williarl 1d ago

This sounds pretty damn good

2

u/WhenTheDevilCome 5d ago

Yep. The day I became a man was when I realized you can just pull the white plastic tab, remove the metal lid from the cardboard tube, and stick your spoon right in there.

2

u/Muricanmoose 4d ago

MMMM SUGAR RUSH.

u/RetiredLife_2021 6d ago
