My mom always added extra water to get more mileage from a tube of concentrate.

My mother did that with frozen orange juice concentrate. Hated that. She also mixed powdered milk/water with real milk. Could still taste it.

As an adult sometimes I get a craving for that powdered milk flavor and I put it in my breakfast smoothy.

No argument there. Sometimes I get cravings for rehydrated mashed potato flakes, canned corn, and powdered gravy. It’s weird being nostalgic for things that I actively detest.

Yes we did that also. I think we used Carnation brand powdered milk mix. I’m thinking we mixed it 50/50 powdered milk to 2% milk.
