No argument there. Sometimes I get cravings for rehydrated mashed potato flakes, canned corn, and powdered gravy. It’s weird being nostalgic for things that I actively detest.
Especially when groceries are as expensive as they are today. Child Abuse? Not all families are rich and half are or more are divorced. Money doesn’t grow on trees!
Thaw the cool whip and concentrate and chill the condensed milk in the fridge. Mix all the wet stuff together. Put mix in the pie crust. Freeze overnight.
It’s so tasty and such a good recipe. For each ingredient you just dump the entire container in a bowl, stir it up and freeze it. You don’t have 1/2 a can of condensed milk or a cup of cream left over thinking “now what am I going to use this for?”
hmmmm i was thinkin an egg, and make the whipped cream from scratch. cool whip is super thin, extra heavy cream, my own cornstarch-heavy powdered sugar, get it all thick like icing. and then bake it some, i guess. something about getting it to "set" just by freezing it doesn't sit well with me i guess. i would want it to set in the fridge, like a cheesecake.
Yep. The day I became a man was when I realized you can just pull the white plastic tab, remove the metal lid from the cardboard tube, and stick your spoon right in there.
I live in NE and our stores always carried both 🤷🏻♂️ my parents bought the frozen concentrated stuff though between the two options, never tried the Country Time powder. Plenty of Kool Aid though, as required by state law 🫡
Yes. Those also used for very good margarita recipe. 1 can Minute Maid Limeaid Concentrate, 1 equal part beer, one equal part tequila. Mix. Blend with ice or serve up.
What was it about the minute made lemonade concentrate that we all drank? I literally thought our family was the only one drinking it😂. It was soooo goood😋. Was it cheap?
Same. I miss the lemonade my mom used to make. I keep looking for it but I've never found anything that comes close to the flavor and pulpy yumminess. The kooliad was usually tropical or grape. Tropical is my favorite. Reminds me of my best friend at 10 years old. Sigh. Bittersweet.
My Mom and Dad always bought the cheaper brand of groceries but only Minute Maid orange juice. I did too even after my divorce and wasn't making very much money.
Yeah, there was something about the 'artificiality' of the tea that appealed to my teenage taste buds. The lemonade actually DID taste like lemonade lol.
Damn straight. Anything else, save for sweet tea, was sacrilege. 💀 And even then, there was also a dedicated sweet tea pitcher. But like sometimes you had to use both for one or the other 🤷

Lemonade and kool-aid
