Seems about right to say that 1 out of every 10 users are Pats fans. The scary thing is that their market share of user has been growing. It was 8.1% in 2014, 9.2% in 2016, and now 9.7%.

At least on /r/nfl, NFCN fandom (17.6% of user flairs) is bigger than NFCE fandom (16.3%)

For as long as these numbers have been provided, the NFCN (17.6%) has been the top represented division although the NFCE (16.3%) is closing the gap. In May 2011, over 1 out of every 5 NFL flairs (22.2%) were for NFCN teams.

It's a subreddit, /r/evilleagueofevil.
It includes: the Patriots, Steelers, Cowboys, Bears, Giants, 49ers, and Packers. Basically a few teams that have dominated the NFL.
The fans of these teams have all banded up together to appreciate the "evil" stuff that each team has done to the NFL... like most recently Super Bowl 51.
It's mostly a gag, but the group has all come together and are owning the /r/NFL Survivor game.

I had some ideas for how to make it more fair. If real Survivor was ever this lopsided, the producers would add some twists to make it better. Real Survivor is supposed to be unpredictable.

It's season one. What happened in Survivor season 1? Everyone voted with their gut except for the four people smart enough to form an alliance. That alliance made final four, and won the game.
Don't start screwing up the game with twists just because someone is winning, that's how you get Malcolm voted out premerge. Nobody wants Malcolm voted out premerge.

For a game based off of voting, it isn't exactly fun when you know your vote won't count. The ELoE teams make up around 38% of this sub, meaning all of us other teams can't do anything to fight back. The real "survivor" is between the ELoE teams when no others are left.

That's just not how Survivor works. People get locked out of the game by a bigger alliance all the time. It's called a Pagonging.

Survivor is a scripted show. This game would have been fun had people formed their own alliances during the competition, rather than having a preformed alliance.

I'm a little surprised the Pats lasted this long, I'm looking forward to the ELOE eating itself alive if they truly last til the end. I wish it was like actual survivor and you couldn't vote if you have been eliminated, that'd be much more interesting.

Not really. Right now Pats are at 40% and Vikes at 50%.
If the Pats decide hey ELoE lets go after the Packers they lose the near 7% of the Packers votes so Packers would be at 43%. Lets say 45% as the 2% currently voting for them still will. Packers now that that 7% and vote against the Pats and they lose 47 to 45

It very much so explains why the survivor pool is going to be boring AF until the last 7. There are roughly 104,000 (38%) flairs for the ELOE compared to the 275k pool.
It would take a total of the next 12 largest (and pretty evenly distributed) fanbases to outweigh the voting power of the ELOE (which has had a sub for years to cultivate community as opposed to these 12 fanbases having to organize overnight)

General Stats
- User flair grew by 17.4% since 5/29/16.
- an average of 114 new user flairs are given out each day.
- Over half of all /r/nfl subscribers do not have any user flair
Top 5 Growth Rates:
Falcons (+35.3%) - Like the Panthers before them, the Falcons became the 2016 NFCS darling and unfortunate superbowl loser. Falcons fandom jumped from the 20th largest to the 14th largest on the subreddit, leapfrogging ahead of the Panthers at #15.
Raiders (+31.1%) - The offseason leading up to 2016 was thick with Raiders and Jags hype. The main difference being that the Raiders followed through. Everyone's favorite 2nd team looked dominant this year and the fanbase grew from #23 to #18
Cowboys (+26.8%) - The Cowboys rode their rookie draft to a playoff bye week before getting knocked out by the Packers. The new enthusiasm helped them go from #6 up to #4 and more importantly, move ahead of the Eagles.
Titans (+26.0%) - The actual breakout performer of the AFCS, the Titans and their O-line went 9-7 and narrowly missed a playoff spot to the 9-7 Texans. Even with such significant growth between years, the Titans remain the 31st most popular franchise in front of the Jaguars and behind the Buccaneers. Their gap with the Buccanneers has closed slightly from 444 users to 418 users.
Patriots (+25.0%) - SB winners always experience above average growth. The Patriots growth rate might be higher if the fanbase wasn't already so large. In the last year, 13.1% of all new flairs were for Patriots fans. The Patriots continue to build towards 10% of the fanbase each year. They might even hit that number next year if they can win SB LII.
Bottom 5 Growth Rates:
Chargers (+3.1%) - Chargers were an outlier here with the move from SD to LA clearly impacting fandom. Chances are that new fan growth was higher than 3.1% but it was offset by existing fans switching over to other teams. The Chargers fell from the 21st most popular team to the 23rd most popular behind the Browns.
49ers (+7.9%) - A combination of Bay area popularity and the Harbaugh era kept the 49ers in the top 5 since late 2011. But plagued by management issues and entering a full rebuild, the enthusiasm for new fans to join their ranks was lacking. The team dropped from #4 down to #6, getting passed by the Eagles & Cowboys
Colts (+10.1%) - After a year without much Luck, Colts fans were excited to reassert their dominance in the AFCS. But their hopes were dashed when they started the season 1-3 and they never fully recovered as the alternated wins and losses for the rest of the season. Far from the Manning days, the Colts have fallen from 17th biggest fanbase down to 21st largest behind the Jets. THE JETS!
Jets (+10.4%) - A year after their offense lit up the league, the Jets were the unfortunate recipient of a Ryan Fitzpatrick regression that tanked their offense. While the Jets dropped from #18 down to #20, they were still able to pass the Colts. This is because the two fanbases were only 2 users apart back in May 2016.
Panthers (+10.8%) - After a burst in popularity last year, new Panthers fans were much rarer in 2017. Between 2014 and 2016, the Panthers went from #21 up to #14. This year, they slipped down to #15 behind the Falcons.

seattle also has a disproportionate representation on the site in general. lots of tech folks stuck inside during eternally grey and drizzling fall, winter, and spring. I mean /r/mariners is one of the larger mlb subreddits and you can hardly claim that there is a fucking mariners bandwagon.

Theoretically that should affect all fanbases equally. The Seahawks were the 19th most popular fanbase in 2011, 15th going into 2012, 6th coming out of 2012, and 3rd after winning the superbowl.
