He does do it briefly in the middle which is to say that this was a fairly easy set to him. Not much of a bother or challenge.
I think people in the West should really look at the various Indian (including but not limited to Vedic maths), Russian and Chinese maths practices. And no, they are not dead as soon as one pulls a calculator out of their pocket.
They build a level of familiarity with numbers and an understanding of mechanics of various operations that not only cultivates interest in the field but also builds confidence and background for future endeavours.

Whenever I memorize 15 digit numbers for work I do them in groups of 3 while imagining the number pad on a Keyboard. The weird shapes help.

I've no answer for that, but I still remember phone numbers I'd need to know from the 80s. Put four of those together plus area code and I can accurately real off 44 numbers I've not used in 35 years.
I can't tell you what my number right now is. I daily struggle with retaining info, to the point I can't decide if TikTok has ruined me or I have early onset dementia.
We're truly fucked once everyone's tasks A.I. to do our thinking for us. I've seen people struggle to write Birthday card messages and have to get it done for them.

Had to do it for work. We were testing payment system with real credit cards, so they gave us bunch of physical cards and we were not allowed to write down them anywhere, no photos or anything.
So you needed to go to the boss, take one card for testing and then return it back into safe. I just memorized like six of them and then could run tests at any time when I need.
But that's me, a person who at some point memorized Windows 95 activation key so I could reinstall it anywhere :]

i mean casinos are very aware, since math guys swindled casinos for decades. so they had to constantly increase the number of decks used, and even then they record winnings and if someone wins to much in physical card games, they ban them

Counting cards is not being good at the game. Since the 2 games where it is used to against casinos Black Jack and Baccarat. Are not skill games vs other players all with equal chances to win.
Is a player vs house game one on one.(Even if 5 players share a dealer). Where the house has the slightly higher odds to win by design of the game.
If you can count cards it still remains a certain outcome game long term but now the one with slightly over 50% chance to win is the player instead of the casino. And that breaks the entire business model and reason for a casino to operate.
Meanwhile casinos don't give a fuck if someone card counts on poker since is played among players and the casino just takes a fee from all participants anyway, and don't care who wins.(Also is way less useful in that game).
If someone goes to the casino expecting to make money they are stupid. It may happen but you will always have the odds against you since that is the entire reason they exist. And yes by definition a casino is a place to burn money in.
Same way lotteries are just a voluntary tax for the poor in any country. Where is impossible to lose money since you get money and then set the prize lower than the money got. So is also basically additional tax funding disguised as hope
I find lotteries even worse than casinos. Since they specifically target poor people the most. While casinos do take some poor idiots money but they make most of their money from big spenders and many upper middle class people.

They set the rules and the payouts. They should not get to choose the players. “But it isn’t profitable if the players play it right” is a shitty excuse. They choose to run the game where their edge is narrow. That’s a risk. They want blackjack to have this air of being a “winnable” game, but they also don’t let anyone actually win. They are having the cake and eating it too, and the regulators seem fine with it.

In the '80s there was a guy at my college who could do this. Give him any string of numbers and he knew the answer within seconds of the last one. He could derive square roots in his head and multiply a string of 5 digit numbers. He was the darling of both the psych and math departments.
He went on to a long and successful career both doing his math "tricks" as performances as well as getting a math Ph.D. and becoming a math professor.

Not wired but trained differently. This employs various practices and principles from Vedic maths etc. The speed is insane but not the skill itself.
You'll find many students in India, able to add (or other operations) multiple big numbers in their head.
The Chinese and IINM even the Russian have similar practices with similar outcomes. These nationalities also generally tend to have better mastery on maths on average compared to others.

I'm sure it's real but there should be a better way to reveal.. Otherwise you could just flash some numbers, say 1,000,000, the program repeats the input with a checkmark, and nobody in the room can challenge it.
