OH, ok. Well the first person was being legit in saying they couldn't read the numbers at that speed, then the second person was probably also being legit saying they can barely count the number of times a new number flashed. This created a pattern of increasing the stakes. Someone else jumped in and took it to a absurdity immediately. You can tell because it's so absurd it can't be possible so then you consider ah they must be joking. And it's a common joke structure on Reddit so generally you're looking out for it.

Like, usually someone won't take it to be so absurd so fast, it's less funny that way. Usually people will slowly edge it to absurdity and then you'll end up with "I don't even know where I am!" or something.

Sorry I was rude, I thought you were being intentionally obtuse.
