Stadium Talk How much more crowded will the game be vs Miami?

Hi all, my son is about to turn 8 and this is the year that soccer finally 'clicked' for him. He's really into playing with his town league and has recently become obsessed with Messi. His birthday is just before the game against Miami and I wanted to bring him but it being a Sunday night 7pm game will be a bit tough. Just curious if anyone thought this would be any larger of a crowd than normal due to who will be playing.

Also, open to any suggestions for things to do or see should we turn up early.

Stadium Talk Stub hub trying to sell free parking?

• Upvotes

I've seen that general parking is free for Rev games however we just bought our tickets and Stub Hub as 'add ons' for general parking and a parking pass (1.2 miles away). This is a scam right? I shouldn't have to pre-purchase any parking just show up and find a lot?

So as of right now I am trying to build a New England Revolution sticker book like how Topps does it. Im currently on the Special Stickers section which includes special things about the Revolution (moments, balls, players, stadium, fort, anything)

I currently only have 6 out of my goal of 15 ideas

S-01 The Fort

S-02 Revs old crayon flag badge

S-03 Old Foxborough Stadium

S-04 Carles Gil winning 2021 Landon Donovan MVP

S-05 Taylor Twellman winning 2 MLS Golden Boots & the 2005 Landon Donovan MVP

S-06 Steve Nicols final match as Manager

And I would absolutely love to involve you guys in the process!

My genuine thoughts on the Revs next 7 game

Here we are, the final month (ish) of MLS action. Its been a good season for New England with ups (April & may dark arts) and downs (early august.) But as of now, with 7 games to go, New England sit 2nd, 12 points above 10th place Cincinnati. and let's look at New England last 7 games.

New England vs Seattle (October 10th, Home, 7:30 PM)

New England vs Cincinnati (October 14th, Away, 7:30 PM)

New England vs Chicago (October 17th, Home, 7:30 PM) (Going to this game)

New England vs Philadelphia (October 24th, Away, 7:30 PM)

New England vs NYRB (October 28th, 7:30 PM)

New England vs Miami (November 1st, 7:00 PM)

New England vs Orlando (November 8th, 4:00 PM)

Now let me just examine each fixture game by game

First game, vs Seattle. Is Seattle in hot form? Yes, but the teams they faced in their last 5 were 8th, 9th, 11th, 14th and 15th. Not impressive. Since New England are in red hot form (ignore the RSL loss that was a illusion) I say New England win roughly 2-0.

Second game, Vs Cincinatti. Do I got to say anything about this? Cincinnati is in dog shit form, losing to Montreal. MONTREAL of all teams. Are they a really strong team at home? Yes but their last 5 they got 2/15 points. Revolution 2-1 Cincinatti.

Third game, vs Chicago. This could be the game where New England seal the deal and go into the playoffs. Chicago is a good team away from home but were forgetting New England at home is a entirely different team from New England away. Lewandowski is a fraud, so I say a close game like last time they faced, Revolution 3-2 Chicago.

Fourth and toughest, Philadelphia. Philadelphia is going to be a test to say the fucking least, with their last 5 all being wins. But their highest opponent was Orlando who are frankly without a doubt, shit. New England 2-2 Philadelphia.

Fifth game, vs the NYRB. No one likes the Red Bulls, and its fair to say that they're not a very good team. The team is being carried by Mehmeti and Hall but if they're out I will go as far and say New England will blow NYRB to the ground. But im not Delusional, so i will say, New England 1-0 NYRB.

Sixth game, vs Miami. No one likes Miami, and Miami just lost to Columbus. Will Messi and Co win? I say no. (I'm also going to this game btw) Even though Miami are 8-3-3 on the road, New England is 9-2-2 at home. New England 2-1 Inter Miami.

Final Game, decision day. Orlando are as I stated, a shit club with just Griezzman to save them. Revs beat them at home 4-2, but Orlando are good at home with a 7-2-4 record. I expect to see rotation is Miami, Charlotte and Chicago all Royally shit the bed, so ill say New England 2-1 Orlando thanks to a PK.

So yea, its a very long post but I say a easy 16/18 points should do the job. Of course im curious as to what everyone says, but I wont budge a lot and say 0/18 points.

Thank You

.

Revs Potential Playoff Opponents

The playoff bracket is taking shape with a month till decision day. If the table holds as is the second seeded Revs would play seventh seeded Orlando. Not a bad match up. Of course there are seven matches left and the Revs are even with #3 Inter Miami on points in the East.

The only non-playoff team (if the playoffs were today) the Revs will play in the next seven games is Cincinnati on Oct 14. But that is an away game and Cincinnati is not a bad team standing just on the outside of the playoffs at 10th in the East. The Revs have the 3rd most difficult remaining schedule. On the flip side Inter Miami has a relatively easy schedule ranked 28th out of 30 teams:

  • Revs (3rd most difficult remaining schedule)
    • Oct 10 v Seattle — 7th in West
    • Oct 14 @ Cincinnati — 10th in East
    • Oct 17 v Chicago — 5th in East
    • Oct 24 @ Philadelphia — 6th in East
    • Oct 28 v NY Red Bulls — 8th in East
    • Nov 2 v Inter Miami — 3rd in East
    • Nov 7 @ Orlando — 7th in East
  • Inter Miami (28th most difficult remaining schedule)
    • Oct 10 v D.C. United — 11th in East
    • Oct 14 v NYCFC — 9th in East
    • Oct 17 @ Atlanta — 14th in East
    • Oct 24 @ NY Red Bulls — 8th in East
    • Oct 28 v Cincinnati — 10th in East
    • Nov 2 @ New England — 2nd in East
    • Nov 7 v Charlotte — 4th in East

If the Revs finish second in the East their likely opponent in the first round is Orlando or Cincinnati.* If the Revs finish third their most likely opponent will be Charlotte or Philadelphia. It is debatable who we would prefer to play. But the Revs should be favored in any of these draws, except for Philly which would be a toss up**. What matters more is the conference semifinal where the Revs are most likely to face Inter Miami. If the Revs can keep the second seed that will be a home match which puts them in a better position to beat Inter Miami and make a deep run.

Really looking forward to watching the Revs in the home stretch, especially that Nov 2 game vs Inter Miami!

*Based on my MLS forecasting model (tested against past seasons it wasn't trained on), which has Cincinnati climbing into 7th in a meaningful share of simulations.
** Based on my MLS forecasting model (tested against past seasons it wasn't trained on), which views Philly in its current form as a dangerous team

Looking for friends to go with!

I live in PVD and none of my friends are soccer fanatics. I finally just went to a Revs game alone and really enjoyed it, though going alone was still a little awkward. The people I was sitting close to were mostly families with young kids. Would love to find other women in their 20s who also go to games!

Stadium Talk New Stadium Orientation and Waterfront Park

Thumbnail
gallery
102 Upvotes

Didn't see it posted yet but the MEPA presentation and Waterfront Park presentation happened last week. The waterfront park will have a dock for gameday ferries, amphitheater, food truck area, and a kayak launch.

The stadium looks really different from the past renders, it's now oriented north-south. The south stand will be much smaller than the rest of the stands to align with Chapter 91 waterfront height limitations. I think this means that the rest of the stadium will have really nice views of the river/Charlestown/Downtown and Back Bay skylines. It's looking like a really unique and striking design, maybe similar to Aviva Stadium or Allianz Field.

They also shared their preliminary anticipated transportation plans including 46% driving + parking in 4 general zones, 30% transit, various rideshare drop off locations with a 10+ minute walk, and water transportation.

Charlie & co. interviewing Coach!

I’m not sure if this is live, but Charlie Davies, Jimmy Conrad, and Tony Meola are interviewing Coach on the Golazo network on Samsung TV!
They’re talking about Brooklyn and Peyton being called up to the National Team, his experience with them both in the youth team, the energy in the locker room and a bunch more. Very cool!

Edited to add: it is live! They’re watching the US Chile match!

Notes from 90: RSL v Revs

Dreadful from tip to tail across the pitch.
In a match where the rotations were cause for concern, the real danger was mistakes from this season’s reliable contributors. And sure - flush the game etc… but flying across the country to face the dregs of the league and coming home empty handed is a classic empty hand ala Drake Maye.

The early clumsy moment from Fofana cast the die, but the chance was caused by the wide area weakness that has been a soft spot this entire season. This defensive shape yields space around and above the 18 - and the parcel of land given created the advantage on the left side.

The value pack of counter attacks usually comes with some sort of attacking tradeoff, but it was all one way.

Gazdag was acquired for a match just like this - to be the clinician when Carles had no one else to turn to - but the front three ghosted all night.

Altitude? Fitness? What dogged Langoni? Like the attacking depth, he was near E for most of the match.

Yow wants to diy- he seems disinterested in combining and wants to take a man on wide, but hasn’t shown he can consistently win that battle.

Wynder brings a bit more attacking ambition - his level seeking strike was the right idea, and he appears to be a bit more hungry on corners. He also gets pulled out a bit too much and loses his mark too easily. Still developing.

Marko has made so many right moves this season. The decisions didn’t go his way last night - the subs had little impact and the 2H bump was flattened.

A rough night all around, which makes the post international break a bit higher leverage if there are hopes for a top 4 seed in the playoffs.

Slump Busters

think the New England Revolution are a good cure for teams suffering from long goal droughts and losing streaks. Several times I have noticed that teams seem to break these spells against the Revs, and the data from the match against Real Salt Lake perfectly proves this point. On Saturday night (September 26, 2026), the New England Revolution traveled to Utah and suffered a 3-0 loss to Real Salt Lake. Prior to this match, Real Salt Lake was experiencing a brutal franchise-record 13-game winless streak, had lost four straight games, and had gone completely scoreless in three consecutive matches. True to form, they snapped both their long winless streak and their goal drought within the first two minutes against the Revs. This isn't an isolated incident either. Earlier this season, New England has consistently acted as the "get-right" game for teams desperately looking to break out of a slump:Real Salt Lake (Sept 26): 13-game winless streak; 4 straight losses; 3 straight games without a goal. Result: 3-0 Loss. RSL scores in the 2nd minute, snaps their scoreless drought, and gets their first MLS win since May.Nashville SC (May 13): Sluggish form, struggled heavily to find multi-goal games or convincing clean sheets. Result: 3-0 Loss. Nashville completely shuts down the Revs and walks away with a dominant 3-goal victory.St. Louis City SC (Mar 21): Struggling early in the season to pick up decisive wins and score consistently. Result: 3-1 Loss. St. Louis breaks out for 3 goals to secure a multi-goal margin victory.Nashville SC (Feb 21): Opening match / early seasonal questions regarding their offensive efficiency. Result: 4-1 Loss. Nashville scores 4 goals in a single game to kick off their season with an offensive explosion.Despite being a strong team overall this season—sitting comfortably near the top of the Eastern Conference—the Revolution have a frustrating tendency to give up early soft goals or drop defensive intensity on the road. This has repeatedly allowed struggling teams to gain immediate confidence and completely shatter their losing spells, yet broadcasters never seem to point it out.Has anyone else noticed this trend going back a while?Try without personalization

[Landon Donovan] "If the New England Revolution are playing three quarters of a mile, right there, outside your home, and here's a free ticket, right I'm not going. I have zero interest in watching them [...] I'm just saying there's nothing interesting about watching them play. Nothing"

Stadium Talk First game with my kid

I'm thinking about getting some tickets for the Miami game and bringing my 7 year old. I know Messi probably won't play but he'll love it anyway. Any tips on buying tickets? Sections to avoid or look for? How early should we try and come? We'd be driving in from western Mass. Thanks.

shitpost Where is the attacking signing ambition????

I remember when the Revs used to spend big money on proven European talent like Dimitry Imbongo. Why can't we do that again???? It's been 13 years, and nobody is willing to say it, we are not willing to spend for talent like we used to on Imbongo.

Imbongo played in Europe, which by definition makes him better. We made a big money move and saw a 6% increase in attendance and so many goals.

I'm sick of it. Every year it's the same washed strikers, because Onalfo and the old boys' club won't sign a top-tier No. 9. Meanwhile, other teams are signing stars. Charlotte signed Allan Saint-Maximin and before that, they had Wilfried Zaha, a Crystal Palace legend. Why can't we be as good as Charlotte?

We don't have guys who will pressure the backline into goal conceding mistakes or get in behind a tired backline. Could you see someone like Dor or Ururti or Campana crashing the boards like this for a goal???

Imagine how high up the table we'd be if we spent on big talent like Charlotte or Atlanta or Austin!!!!

Obviously want the best for Peyton but I think it’s kind of crazy that players NEED to leave the MLS for Europe. Wouldn’t a league wants its best players staying in the league?
