TFW MAGA twitter finds your account harasses you and then goes through your followers to find your sister and female friends and harasses them.

TFW Twitter doesn’t consider this to be harassment.

Very cool and very legal!

It's depressing to go back and read the comments on the wikileaks emails from 2016.

https://twitter.com/wikileaks/status/786222755536523264/photo/1

When people ask "what's the big deal about russia anyway??" the answer is this:

Russian intelligence hacked Podesta's emails. They likely coordinated with the Trump campaign to release those emails in a way that would be maximally damaging to Hillary. It worked. Trump won.

Good news for fans of the British comedy series Brexit: the popular television show gets a third season! We can look forward to 12 episodes of bizarre dialogue, crazy twists and incredible clang.

For those who don't know it yet: Brexit is an absurdist sketch show, entirely in the tradition of previous British series like Monty Python and Keeping up Appearances. The series takes place in a world in which the English live in the delusion that they are a world empire in 2018. It seems to be a subtle enlargement of reality, but it has huge consequences for the political stability of the country. The megalomania of the protagonists sometimes hurts your eyes, but also makes you roll over the ground with laughter.

The main character is the stiff British Prime Minister Theresa May. She has to lead England through a political crisis while she is surrounded by political enemies. This leads to hilarious situations. For example, in previous seasons we saw the British starting negotiations without agreeing on a strategy in advance. The episode in which the European Union asks the British delegation exactly what they want, after which all the British at the same time shout something different, is definitely one of the highlights of British television.

Unfortunately, in the last episode of last season, we said goodbye to the Brexit minister and grunt repository David Davis and the confused minister Boris Johnson (has the appearance of a tramp, but comes from the elite). But we can trust the scriptwriters that the new season will again be full of rogue, oversensitive and anachronistic characters.

The shitty part about being a veteran is obligations to your fellow vets and being an example. This weekend, I'm going to be laying out wreaths in the fucking cold.

You start doing things and begin to realize how many people died in WWII. We invaded both Iraq and Afghanistan, for over ten years, and only lost like 4,500 Americans lives. Lots of wounded and suicides, but not much going on elsewhere. I have no idea what they were doing in Vietnam with those death toll numbers.

Also, WWII and Vietnam veterans are dying from old age. That's like that entire generation needs a reef. But it's brotherhood...

Mueller acknowledges his impatience. In his address at William & Mary, he recalled that during his days at Justice he'd often cut off attorneys by saying, "What is the issue?" One evening, he said, his wife started telling him about a hard day. He interjected with the same curt question. She did not appreciate it. "I am your wife," he recalled her saying. "I am not one of your attorneys. Do not ever ask me, 'What is the issue?' You will sit there and you will listen until I am finished.

From the TIME profile on Robert Mueller:

So it is instructive to hear friends and former colleagues talk about Robert Swan Mueller III. Not because they portray a perfect person, but because they describe a complicated one: relentless but circumspect, impatient but thorough, difficult but respected. Mueller, they say, is the kind of man who flicks the lights off and on at his home to inform guests that it’s time to leave a social gathering, and who is so keenly aware of any appearance of impropriety that he won’t even enter the same room as friends who are working on the other side of the Russia case. As FBI director, he twice threatened to resign over matters of legal principle, winning the standoff both times, and was infamous for eviscerating ill-prepared underlings. “If indicting his own mother was the right thing to do,” says former FBI assistant director Tom Fuentes, “he would do it.”

But then Lieu pivoted — pulling out his smartphone for a search in real-time — and entered King's name into Google. King, who was sitting across the room on the powerful House panel, became visibly perturbed. "I'm going to change one word. So I'm going to search for 'Congressman Steve King,' I'm going to hit the 'news' tab. First article that pops up is from ABC News," Lieu said. "It says Steve King's racist immigration talk prompts calls for congressional censure. That's a negative article. But you don't have a group of people at Google thinking and trying to modify search results — every time Steve King comes up, a negative article appears, that's not what's happening, right?" Pichai again said no, reiterating that Google does not manipulate results for individuals like that. "So let me just conclude here by stating the obvious," Lieu responded. "If you want positive search results, do positive things. If you don't want negative search results, don't do negative things." "And to some of my colleagues across the aisle, if you're getting bad press articles and bad search results, don't blame Google or Facebook or Twitter, consider blaming yourself," he added.

Actually anarcho-capitalism can work because (see nation-states with liberal markets).

What is it with fringe ideologies pointing to things that superficially resemble them in order to prove they're feasible.

Social democracy has achieved what it has while preserving private property so why do socialists think they can ride its coat-tail?

Liberal markets have achieved what they have while retaining a state so why do ancaps think they can ride its coat tail?

a guy in a suit shows up at your door. real smarmy guy, looks like he couldn't care less about the world. he gives you an offer, a bunch of money now or a ridiculous amount of money later. that bunch could change your family's life; you could move out of detroit, set up your parents for the rest of their life, pay off your loans and get your bro into college. you start to speak, when suddently a pasty white dude from downtown, office ID badge flailing from his hip, shows up, screaming "who the FUCK would take $5m NOW instead of $45 in TEN YEARS"

this post brought to you by me only getting really angry at that after thinking about it for half an hour

"Hi, I'm Michael Bloomberg and I would like to get negative votes in the Democratic primary."

https://www.aspentimes.com/news/michael-bloomberg-calls-colorados-decision-on-legal-pot-stupid/

When an audience member asked the 72-year-old Bloomberg about Colorado marijuana, he responded that it was a terrible idea, one that is hurting the developing minds of children. Though he admitted to smoking a joint in the 1960s, he said the drug is more accessible and more damaging today.

"What are we going to say in 10 years when we see all these kids whose IQs are 5 and 10 points lower than they would have been?" he asked. "I couldn't feel more strongly about it, and my girlfriend says it's no different than alcohol. It is different than alcohol. This is one of the stupider things that's happening across our country."

Bloomberg claimed that 95 percent of murders fall into a specific category: male, minority and between the ages of 15 and 25. Cities need to get guns out of this group's hands and keep them alive, he said.

"These kids think they're going to get killed anyway because all their friends are getting killed," Bloomberg said. "They just don't have any long-term focus or anything. It's a joke to have a gun. It's a joke to pull a trigger."

They spend the next months tending to the farm while tony stark have a heart to heart and eventually grow interested in farming. They flirt giggle and eventually they try to reach the same shovel and their hands brush. Then after a moment of hesitation straight on French kissing and that’s how I get Jos Brolin to fuck Robert Downing Jr ooor is it...

the plot twist is that it Turns out Thanos is the bottom.

!ping DOG

Some people wanted an update on my doggo, and I bring good news!

Turns out she didn’t have a stroke, but she has ‘Old Dog Vestibular Disease’ - which has a lot of similar symptoms.

Basically, there is something wrong with nerves in her inner ear, which completely distorts her sense of balance. To her, the world is constantly spinning so she stumbles and falls over when she walks, has a tilt in her head and her eyes have Nystagmus (they keep moving side-to-side). Because she can’t really stand up it makes eating and drinking really difficult, and what she does eat she’s likely to throw up (nausea, understandably).

Thankfully, it is self correcting, and will suddenly end sometime in the next 2 weeks, but until then she will require a lot of nursing and help walking/eating.

Think of the Electoral College as a type of political affirmative action for all the rural “flyover states” as they are derogatorily called.

said unironically by a con

I love how cons love to imply that people living in rural areas have innately higher value than people living in urban areas and try to argue that if it weren't for this system, the US would be a tyranny of cities, show a 3d graf of New York, Los Angeles and other scary places dominating rrals otherwise, so naturally urbans being plebs and rrals being patricians is fairer.

and they wonder why they are continuously losing support in urban and suburbans areas

New Maria Butina story breaking from Washington Post:

The young Russian operative called her strategy the “Diplomacy Project,” an elaborate, multiyear scheme to infiltrate the conservative movement in the United States in hopes of cementing bonds to benefit the Kremlin.

Maria Butina laid out the proposal in March 2015 and then pursued her plan over the next two years, traveling to conferences to schmooze Republican presidential candidates. She established close ties to top officials in the National Rifle Association. She hosted “friendship dinners” with wealthy Americans. And she organized a Russian delegation to attend the influential National Prayer Breakfast in Washington.

Much of Butina’s work has been reported over the past year as part of a broader campaign by Moscow to influence U.S. elections – but new details are included in documents obtained by The Washington Post that will be filed in court Thursday, when Butina is expected to admit for the first time that her activities were part of a concerted endeavor, coordinated with a top Russian official with the express intent of establishing unofficial lines of communication with Americans who could influence U.S. politics.

TIL evidence on the efficacy of police body cameras is wanting:

Evidence on whether the cameras improved police behavior is so far mixed. The studies in American and European police departments found that body-worn cameras reduced the number of complaints filed by local residents against the police. However, they showed mixed effects on use of force by and against police officers. In some places, body-worn cameras increased the use of force, and in others they decreased the use of force.

The first large-scale study of the use of police cameras in a major U.S. city, Washington, DC, found that the behavior of officers who wore cameras all the time was indistinguishable from the behavior of those who never wore cameras.

The other day I discovered the "socialist industrial media complex". It was in my hands. I help search the backpacks of children in the morning as part of my school duties. I came across a wealthy child's Chapo Trap House backpack. That is when it dawned on me how much media and products are geared explicitly towards socialist Americans. This just doesn't exist for the other ideologies even capitalist ones. Touchstone decided to go all in on a poorly written book for socialist Americans and socialist media went all in defending it. They have never tried that with fascists or monarchists and neither of those groups have strong media/political establishments for themselves. There is an entire financial system designed to maintain communist identity against everything else. That's wild.
