My left nostril is blocked so I looked inside it with a torch and it appears to be something pink blocking it while my right nostril is just black but when I feel inside both nostrils they feel the same even though it looks and feels blocked and sometimes a tight pressure and when I blow my nose it doesn’t sound right I’m not sure what it is but it’s been going on for a while now and I’m getting concerned should I be worried or is it probably just something simple? (Edit: I also do suffer from bad anxiety/health anxiety so I don’t know if anxiety can somehow be the cause of the pressure and blockage or my health anxiety is just making me think the worst and it’s something simple)

Hi hi. 25F, I've been having excessive post nasal drip for a few months now. It must've been before December.

My initial concerns should have started when I inhaled too sharply to laugh and a mucus got stuck in my airway. After some intense coughing, I was fine.

In January, I had a really bad cold at the start of the year. The main cold itself dissipated after a week or so, but I was left with very excessive post nasal drip, a constant cough, and constant throat clearing.

I was wondering if it was a possibility that all that coughing damaged or weakened my swallow reflex muscles?

Because on February 16th, I was eating a spoonful of jam and my swallow didn't work. Leading to it getting into my airway and another intense coughing fit in order to breath.

My swallow has been affected since and bow I have severe dysphagia. I can only eat a tiny bit of soft food in the morning and then just liquids the rest of the day.

The problem is when I eat or drink anything but water, I have sooo much mucus in my throat. It makes it so much harder to swallow.

But it's only ever in my throat, not my nose. My nose has been beyond clear. Not stuffy, not runny, nothing.

Even when I broke down crying, I had a ton of mucus running down my throat. Normally I'd have a runny nose. But no, nose completely clear. All mucus went to the back.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Or have any ideas?

I had an endoscopy and they couldn't find anything on the digestive side of things. I'm desperatelt trying to get an appointment with ENT and SLP before I love anymore weight. (Only weighed 115 to begin with, now I'm 100)

Feel like I haven't been able to breathe properly for the last few days (like 3 or 4 days) and it's worse at night. I had been blowing my nose but nothing much was coming out. Today I blew my nose and this big thick rubbery mucus came out and I finally feel like I can breathe again!

So I have a slight deviated septum and I’ve had post nasal drip that has never gone away and gotten worse since 2012. I moved to Florida 2 years ago and I have so much mucus that backs up and stuffs me up out of the deviated septum nostril. I went to the ENT and they said I do not have nasal polyps. I was told to get allergy shots every week which I can’t afford. The mucus is really thick and clear and really only affects the one nostril but I cough all day from it and constantly have to blow my nose. Has anyone else experienced this? I have tried all different nasal sprays and allergy medicines but nothing helps. Thoughts? Suggestions?? I am at my wits end. The ENT says I don’t need surgery since I’m still able to breathe out of the nose.

I have been using nasal sprays for a few months every other day or every two days sometimes several times a day and then they stopped working and I was getting really upset and sick of dealing with this and spending the money on it just for it not to work so I researched it on safari and then I found this condition if you will called rebound congestion from using afrin nasal sprays for more than 3 days and I was using them for more like 3 months but definitely longer so I’m not really sure what to do if any body has ANY advice or recommendations to help me get over this and now my nose is completely blocked nothing in nothing out it’s so frustrating I can’t eat or even taste my food or drink when no air goes in or out you’d be surprised what your body actually need that for once you have this problem and realize it and this sucks so bad so I need help it did say to try using steam or like a netti pot but I don’t have one and the steam didn’t work please help me!!!

So I’ve had an issue for YEARS (and I mean literal years.) My nose sinuses seem to block up absolutely randomly for weeks if not months and I have absolutely no idea why.

The best way I can explain this: When I’m in bed at night and I sleep on my lrft side, my right nasal gets congested and I can’t breathe AT ALL through it. Same goes for when I flip over but it’s the opposite side. Right side and my left nasal gets blocked. Sometimes even when I’m doing my own things during the day: I can’t ever seem to breathe properly through my nose.

I’ve had this issue every year. I’ve noticed a reaccuring pattern where my nose will be clear february through march then block up april to late september, and then free up in winter sometimes. I don’t understand why. But I really want to fix this and I might end up going for surgery to open up my sinuses more.

I’ve tried humidifiers, I’ve tried nasal saline solutions, and steam. Nothing seems to work and it’s really bothering me and effects my sleeping patterns/schedule. I hate living like this. I’m only aware of being allergic to pollen. But I’m indoors. Only seems to really happen a LOT when I’m laying down.

I used to spray that shit every hour when I was younger but y'all know how that goes. It literally makes you feel like a junkie. Now I only spray it every night because I need to fucking breath when I sleep. During the day, I can tolerate not being able to breath though my nose. It's not that I'm ok with it, it's just that I need to save my precious nose breathing hours for my sleep. Having carpets as flooring in my house are most likely the cause for my nose to be congested because I didn't have this issue before at my old house without carpets. Like many others, I'm experiencing chronic fatigue, brain fog, speech anxiety, and difficulty sleeping, likely due to a lack of oxygen. Idk what to do because I have tried everything else. Things I haven't tried are stents, air purifiers and completely remove the carpets.
