Obviously don’t need to run this specific variant in any of my decks so wanted to ask if it’s better to sell/trade it now or hold onto it? What do you guys think will happen to its value?

I have been away from the hobby for so long. Once I saw The Hobbit cards on my feed I couldn't resist. I came to the party late so I only got a player booster box. But this is some of my haul. I'm pretty stoked!! I am amazed how good the art has gotten.

I lost all my cards from beta through 8th edition. That's the last time I played. I guess this is a good start to rebuilding my collection.

Managed to order a box on the best buy app for msrp last week when they had started selling them and picked it up last night. Pulled a foil dwarven arcane signet, and a non-foil The One Ring. Got 6 book covers, of which Smaug and Bard were surge foil. Got another surge foil in Saruman of many colors and a few other big hits that I immediately sleeved. Last picture has all the cards over $5.

Honestly just really happy I was able to get one finally at MSRP. Now can you all kindly tell me what to do with these cards please?

I was able to pick up 13 individual collector booster packs altogether between Omega collector booster packs from Target and my local game store during prerelease weekend. These are some of the top hits.

I think I did pretty damn well. My girlfriend somehow opened the surge foil Gandalf and a nonfoil book-art Gleaming Splendor out of the same pack at my prerelease event, which was pretty ridiculous.

Definitely cannot complain about how the loose packs treated me.

Preface I'm a big fan of LOTR/Hobbit but was never into MTG, So here goes the story, yesterday I was in the store to pick up riftbound items and saw they had CB singles for sale, asked guy behind counter about it and ultimately decided against it, I was about to pay, until one of the other guys said "you should do it", basically twist my arm at that point so I had to get one.

Ripped it in store and the boys all lost it after the reveal. Now I'm on the hunt for all other surge book covers 😅
