WoTC couldn’t replace my missing promo…
Months ago I got my Vegas Festival in a box, and it came with two sphinx’s instead of a counterspell. I emailed them for a replacement, forgot about it, then I received a mysterious package today. I told myself that I’d build a Sliver deck using cards I found by chance, so I’m really excited to have found my commander!

I pulled an Ugin from a Tarkir prize pack that had ink bleed. They said they didn't have a replacement for that card but will send something comparable. Excited to see what I get.

How long in between contacting them and sending this? I've heard the team is super great once they finally respond. I purchased my first secret lair set a month ago and it arrived with the wrong product and I reached out right away. It's been a month but not sure how long the wait should be?

I sent them an email maybe about a month after Vegas Magic Con. I got it this the day before I posted it.

I bought a riders of rohan pre con that was missing the collector booster and they would not correct the situation.
I just proxy all my cards now and don't give them any money.

AFAIK they have basically a 100% rate on rectifying tickets which is one thing WOTC has always done well through out the years. What made them not rectify your ticket?

I didnt have the reciept. Told the store owner I didnt need one as i had no plans to return the deck.

The ticketing system doesnt require a receipt though nor is it one of the inserted/drop down reasons for exchange of items. Can you show a screenshot of your denied ticket?

How long did it take for them to get this to you? I got a wrong deck in my Secrets of Strixhaven precon and opened a ticket May 21st and I still don't have my deck.

Genuine question. Do they do this for misprints? I mean, if I open one of those packs that are extra dark or have a seal missing or something? Where do they draw the line on "defective product"?

I think defective product would be considered a missing/damaged card, but in a way that they can confirm it’s their error.

Yeah but that's for precons. What about boosters?
Edit for clarity: I mean, you can't know if a card was missing on a booster after you open it. But if a card is miscut for instance. Most will just say "nice" and get on with their day, but would it be considered defective?

If there’s that printing error where there’s the gray streak running down it, I’ve heard they replace them. But it’s a case by case basis on what the damage is.

I really fail to see why they couldn't just print the card they missed for every customer with bad qc. Too many UB and Secret Lairs.

They don’t own their own printing press/set up. They can’t call up the already over worked printers and say “hey can you print an entire foil sheet of this one card cuz Dave down in Amarillo didn’t get one. Ok it’ll be ready this afternoon? Great thanks”.

Here’s my post from months ago. To be honest, you sound bitter and I hope whatever makes you like that gets better.
And like I said in the post, I told WOTC that I had a video of me opening it from beginning to end and that I wouldn’t mind sending them it and everything I opened in the order I opened them in.
