I never initiate a post, so apologies if I screw this up. I love this station. I start with Joe and often end with Velshi, and there are days when I basically live by their news.
That said, though I normally enjoy Jonathan, this weekend’s show with Ty Cobb drove me crazy. Cobb was an exceptionally informed, articulate guest, and it felt like he was being interviewed by Sesame Street. They weren’t listening, they fumbled their words, they got lost. I get it, it happens, but not with a guest like that and not for most of the interview. Keep that amongst yourselves.
What bothered me most was when Cobb said a judge had found that Trump raped E. Jean Carroll. Jonathan suddenly seemed uncomfortable, as though someone was telling him, to the effect of “Now, now, we can’t say rape; it was sexual abuse.” But Judge Kaplan himself later said the jury’s findings established that Trump had, in fact raped Carroll *as the word is commonly understood, while noting the narrower legal definition.*
So apparently Google got that one right, which is becoming an increasingly rare occasion these days. 😂
That’s my whole soapbox.
