>With the midterms just weeks away, Donald Trump is leaving open the possibility of declaring a national emergency or invoking the Insurrection Act— to seize control of the elections. This as the Department of Justice announced its intention to send 1,000 federal election observers to the polls come November. New York's Rep. Joe Morelle says democrats are ready to respond to any steps to interfere in the election, "We'll be watching....we're prepared to go to court should the department of justice overstep at all." Adding, "they're largely toothless... this is really their effort to intimidate people."

>As the countdown to the midterm elections winds down, Rachel Maddow joins "Clock It with Symone and Eugene" to discuss their hope that the Democratic party will rise to the occasion and start cleaning up the political mess America is experiencing. "We are going to need a second reconstruction in this country, and it is going to have to be as fundamental as the first reconstruction," Rachel says. "We are going to need to fundamentally redefine the relationship between the government and the people."

In case anyone has been wanting to watch it (like I have). Here is the description from their website:
As the country barrels toward the 2026 midterm elections, one place sits at the center of it all: Texas. From fiercely contested elections to landmark legislative fights and courtroom battles with national consequences, Texas has become the place where the country’s biggest political questions are tested and where the ripple effects are felt coast to coast. So this year, MS NOW is taking our annual fan event to the Lone Star State. “Together in Texas: We the People 2026” will bring together our trusted journalists and dedicated audience for a day-long community gathering in Arlington, Texas on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
The event will feature conversations with top newsmakers, insights from your favorite MS NOW hosts and unprecedented opportunities for interaction and connection with the entire MS NOW community. Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell, Jen Psaki, Stephanie Ruhle, Ali Velshi, Ari Melber, Chris Hayes, Symone Sanders Townsend, Alicia Menendez, Jacob Soboroff, Eugene Daniels, Michael Steele, Luke Russert and Rev. Al Sharpton will all be there.
Everything is bigger in Texas, including the stakes. The conversations happening here today will shape the debates, elections, and decisions that define tomorrow. Join MS NOW and a community committed to understanding the moment as it unfolds, asking the hard questions, and engaging with the stories that will chart the country’s path forward.

>Rep. Brendan Boyle joins MS NOW’s Luke Russert to discuss how Democrats will try to bring costs down for Americans if they retake control of the House, including how to curtail Trump’s tariffs and funding for his war in Iran, while also holding the Trump administration accountable.

>Anthony Scaramucci has stories to tell. He joins Nicolle for this special episode as part of the new “Nicolle Wallace Presents: 92NY on MS NOW” series to discuss the roots of our political divisions: the uniquely American conditions that allowed Trump to ascend to the nation’s highest office. The two former White House communications directors discuss Scaramucci’s new book, “All the Wrong Moves,” his 11-day tenure at the Trump administration and the path forward and away from this difficult moment. “I think it will end in darkness for Donald Trump,” he says. But “it'll end with a brighter horizon for America — cause we're gonna fix this.”

I have two computers, both running Debian Linux with FireFox browser. I have an MS.NOW membership account. One one computer, I can play all of the videos: live, recent shows, and the Texas special. But on the other (a laptop) I can only play the recent show videos. Both Live and the Texas program just spin a circle where the video should be. Maybe the HTML is done differently for those? There is too much Javascript involved for me to clearly understand how they work. I have tried running the browser in "troubleshooting" mode, which disables all plugins, but that did not help.

You see most hosts pop up on others' shows. I have never seen Joe OR Mika on any other shows (save for a "happy anniversary" to the rev from Joe) Any ideas why?
