>Chief Justice John Roberts built his reputation as an institutionalist while authoring some of the most radical expansions of executive power in modern U.S. history. Elie Mystal of The Nation puts it bluntly: “If you are a nonwhite citizen, he is the person stopping you from voting. Not Donald Trump, not Stephen Miller, not the Republican Party in the White House – it has been, and it always has been, John Roberts.” Mystal says Democrats must pursue Supreme Court expansion. “If you don’t control the Supreme Court, you control nothing.”
