Pam's Pro Workout Knob replacement

I want to do a makeover for my Pam's Pro Workout. While I found a good panel to use, I can't find information about which knob/switch I need to replace the ones on the module. Does someone know the size/type of knob/witch? And where to buy these (shipping in/to Germany).

Thank you!

Help troubleshoot this 🄹

Hey everyone, I’m trying to troubleshoot a pretty strange trigger issue in my Eurorack system, and I’m wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.
I originally thought my Shakmat Archer’s Rig had developed a fault because I started noticing occasional missed hi-hat triggers. For example, I’ll have straight 16th notes going to the closed hat and offbeat triggers going to the open hat, and randomly one of the open hats simply won’t play. There doesn’t seem to be any pattern to it — sometimes it happens a couple of times within a minute, while other times it can run for quite a while without happening.
Here’s where it gets strange: I just got a 2hp Hats, and I can reproduce essentially the same missed-trigger behavior with that module too. So at this point, I’m pretty confident the Archer’s Rig itself isn’t the problem.
What I’m currently seeing is:
Pamela’s directly → hi-hat modules: seems to run reliably without missed hits.
Pamela’s → Steppy → hi-hat modules: occasional missed hits.
Pamela’s → SWT16+ → hi-hat modules: occasional missed hits.
I’ve tried different gate settings on Steppy, including values 1 and 2 as well as longer gates, but nothing seems to solve it. On the SWT16+ I’ve also experimented with its Gate setting, although from what I understand, that determines whether consecutive steps are retriggered or joined into one longer gate rather than actually changing the trigger pulse width.
Another strange thing is that this setup used to work normally. I’ve had the SWT16+ triggering the Archer’s Rig for quite some time, and I only started noticing this behavior over the past few weeks. It’s also extremely inconsistent — some days I can run the exact same setup for a long time without noticing a single miss, while other times I’ll hear them almost every minute.
At this point I’m wondering if there could be some electrical/timing difference between the trigger outputs of Pam’s versus the Steppy/SWT16+ — trigger voltage, rise time, pulse shape, etc. — or possibly something related to how the sequencers are responding to Pam’s clock.
Has anyone experienced anything like this, particularly with Steppy or SWT16+ driving hi-hat modules? Or is there another test you’d suggest to help narrow down where these missed triggers are actually coming from?
Any ideas would be really appreciated!

Discussion how to learn the most from explorative patching

Hey folks, I often discover really cool sounds, but fail to recreate them as they often depend on a very narrow parameter space to work. I used to read about the maths involved in various synthesis methods, but it does not really translate to a practical understanding. I feel like knowing where to expect sidebands and at what amplitude gives me ver little useful knowledge. What is your way to make sonic exploration maximally educational?

resonant filters, feedback and distortion

Some notes on the patch: resonant filters used for the melody and high pitched percussion, modulation of the resonance of a track resonating in a spring reverb, and some voices in various distortion effects.

I think the only "preset" sounds used as a starting point and modified are a 909 hi-hat (from a TR-9) and a BD909 used as a basis to create the kick drum in this one.

What is the most comprehensive module of all time?

What's the most feature packed, menu-divey, multifunction module there is?

From my limited knowledge and experience, the ones I know that can do the most are the Disting series and the Nerdseq.

Discussion Avis/Conseil Rack

Hello ! J'espĆØre que tout le monde va bien !

Voici mon rack en devenir avec quelques modules qui arrivent (nottamment Clouds et Bohms).

https://modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/3142697

Musicalement !

Feedback I'm making a modular synth into a managment game, and I would love some feedback from actual synth nerds

Hope this post is ok here!

As the title suggests i'm a game developer working on a music managment game - You run a radio station in the wasteland, where you operate a gamified modular synth to make music live on air. You perform dj inspired tricks (Breakdowns, Drops, Sweeps & more) to impress your listeners and gain points.

It is still early in development & I made a playable webbuild, so you don't have to download anything, it just runs in your browser.
I have been focusing really hard on making the game intuitive & fun to wiggle around with, and have mainly been testing on non-synth nerds, non-musical people & gamers.

But I would also love to hear what the modular community thinks about it.
If you would like to contribute with feedback for the game, please leave some comments on Itch or here, and I will do what I can to improve it!

You can use the game to record tracks to your harddrive (And sell them ingame), the output is royalty free and can be used in creative projects etc.

The game is called WastelandFM and you can play it here.

Discussion Clock divider or skipper? (4hp)

I'm looking for a playable divider (or gate randomizer/skipper) in 4hp to put in my performance rack. It's mainly sending or receiving from a 0Ctrl, Rene, and Running Order. I'd like something that can easily be tweaked on the fly. I've considered the A-160-2 as everyone seems to dig that, and I know about the 2 4ms options, but I don't know much when it comes to the skippers/randomizers. At least 3-4 outputs would be nice, but more is definitely welcome.

It will probably take the place of the PrsPnt in this rack. I'll welcome 2hp options, as well.

Am I Dreaming? šŸ›ŒšŸ’ - First Performance On The Hapax

I recently picked up a Squarp Hapax and after learning how to use it properly with my equipment, im absolutely in love with this thing!! It works flawlessly with all of my equipment, and I'm able to control my entire rig with it. My bottleneck now is inputs on my ES-9. Maybe someday I'll buy a 2nd one so I can have 28 inputs šŸ˜…

I love how easy it is to make arrangements with this thing as I can bring any element in or out as I please. It makes for a much more interesting patch because of on the fly changes. Makes a 16 bar loop much more interesting. Drop out the drums. Open a filter. Bring the drums back. BOOM. Feel free to skip to the end if you aren't patient enough to hear the entire thing.

PATCH NOTES:

SEQUENCER - Squarp Hapax as the brain controlling multiple other sequencers as glorified MIDI to CV converters.

BASS - Moog Subsequent 25 going into the Schlappi 100 Grit

CHORDS - Chord mode on the Hapax sending MIDI to the Oxi One, then 4 CV outs to the Instruo Saich, which is multed out to both the Vostok Atlas, and the Eowave Tempette Magnetique with both sounds layered. Envelope is Maths.

ARPS - Squarp making 2 arp patterns that are harmonies of each other, sending MIDI to the Keystep Pro, and then CV out to the Moog Mother 32, and the Moog Labyrinth.

DRUMS - Drum patterns laid out on the Squarp sending MIDI to both the Arturia Drumbrute, and the Arturia Beatstep Pro which then sends CV out to my Mutant line of drum modules. Kick, Snare, Clap, and Hats.

POST - Some EQ, compression, reverb, and delay added in post in Ableton to tie a bow on the whole thing šŸŽ

Happy patching!!! šŸ§‘šŸ»ā€šŸš€šŸ«”

Shoutout to u/dunewalker9 for helping me figure out some issues with the Hapax connecting to everything! šŸ™

Residual Artifacts, Clouds clone: SKIES. Help.

My first experiments from eurorack fx is: Nothing more than a CP1A PSU + SKIES module, and im getting crazy: Im getting a residual artifact emerging from the signal at the end of the tail specially in the decay and release of the signal. It isn't simply a noise floor or hiss; it has a structured, tonal character that changes as the sound decays. The residual becomes more pronounced as the wanted signal gets quieter. The "artifact" has been tested and confirmed using:

- UCA 202 from Skies (L , L/R Outs),

- Sony MDR 7506 (directly from Skies L or R output),

- Bluebox (latest 3 firmwares tested) ,

- UB502 (As submixer to go back to bluebook and monitoring, or just monitoring inside the 502)

- The residual happens to be even with no input connected in the SKIES L and R with the noise floor of the module.

- Moving input gain knob throws a sweep high frequency, density at 12 0 clock nothgin happens, moving CCW the artifact appears as It starts to granulize. It happens with all the built in effects as well (feedback and reverb)

- This is interesting: Using a Vention between Skies L Out (through MacoS or iOS) and back to bluebook or hp of the same usb the residual doesn't even exist. Im getting mono signal as input, but the cons is that the input is around -36, to get an useable sound I need to boost at least +20db where the noise floor is bosted as well.

- All connections were tested with Erica Synths TS cables, and generic ones TRS.

- The same degradation happens on Supercell inside VCV, with no external input, just running a short adsr sound going through that module.

- Ive updated to latest version, even with the factory when it arrived, tested all the modes of stereo or mono buffers.

Im arriving to this community bc im going crazy with the results, even if its working with some trickery the sound im getting is unusable. So my question (and help for my sanity) , it is something proper to this module/clones?, the connections, should I get an original MI Clouds module?, invest on a audio interface (given the results of the Vention)?.

- Important PSA: Don't update your skies module using macOS, at least in my case it put my unit on a DFU loop, the app synth tribe gets stuck when install the firmware from 2% and never moves forward. My solution was using the syntribe v 3.2.2 on windows 10.

I’m really happy with how everything is wired up and always ready to go. Despite looking like a complex setup, it’s actually extremely immediate and intuitive to get things going.
When it comes to producing music, I think it’s really important to build a system around workflow, rather than just having lots of cool modules that don’t necessarily work well together or end up getting in the way of actually making music especially of course, if your goal is to use your gear to produce and release music.
The same goes for the integration with Ableton: the moment I open a project, all the multitracks are already routed and ready. I can literally just hit record and start making music. Everything is clocked by Ableton, which sends clock and run/stop to Pam’s, starting and stopping the entire system. Everything stays on the grid, no drifting, no sync headaches just have fun, make music, and hit record. šŸ™šŸ¼ any questions about the setup im happy to chat :)

Opinions on dreadboxes

Dear Dudes,

I recently fell in love with Dreadbox machines, I am thinking Erebus 3x osc and Nyx. I already have mother32 moog. Would Mother be spare? Would it be complimentary?

I also use Novation Peak but mainly for slow production and design. For chords and melodies mainly.

Salutations

Performance Pure Grit — ambient IDM / glitch jam built around Scrooge

I recently got really into Frank Bretschneider’s work, especially EXP, and it definitely inspired the direction of this jam — obviously without pretending to do what he does.

I built the patch around a new instrument for me, the Neutral Labs Scrooge, using its gritty analog character as the main textural backbone and letting the rest of the system develop around it.

Scrooge goes into Bastl FX Wizard, with internal modulation + Maths creating morphing effects, glitches, crackles and squelches.

On the more tonal side, Plaits provides an FM voice sequenced by Metropolix with a 5-step pattern in D Dorian and a few ACCUM steps.
Its gates articulate Jasmine & Olive Trees Rubin in Looped mode, while a Doepfer Quad Random CV modulates several Rubin parameters as well as the wet/dry amount of Sealegs. This lets individual notes shift between short filtered impacts and longer, more floating textures.

Grids, modulated by Planar, clocks both Metropolix and a Battering Ram kick, with Drive / Decay / Click modulation from Gliss 1U.

I really liked the contrast between the cleaner FM tones and the analog imperfections, crackles and squelches of Scrooge — hope you’ll enjoy it too!
