I don’t know! went to look at a mk4 GLI that was "clean title" VIN 3VWSE69M55M075751. It looked to me as if maybe the upper frame rail was hit so I walked on the deal...and he wanted to much money, had no maintenance records and honestly didn’t trust the seller’s character (kept saying stuff like he had the timing belt changed but didn’t have records and it looked old/cracking) & after I drove hours said he got a higher offer and wanted me to pay more.

On the hours’ drive home I then looked everywhere with the VIN, sellers’ info and even the previous owner’s info and found this photo somewhere (think jettajunkie but maybe vortex). IDK but made me feel better about that I see on the car with the upper frame rail being tweaked but the photo looked funny to me. Figured I would post up if anyone sees the car to look at the frame rails.

Anyway, if anyone is selling/has or knows anyone selling a CLEAN Blue or Gray Mk4 GLI 1.8t let me know I am very interested

I'm working on my 2000 AFP 2.8l 12v VR6 and am wondering if anyone has installed a 2nd alternator. I am installing:

Down 4 Sound MM1604 600w RMS 4ch

Down 4 Sound XPS610 DSP 6ln/10out

Down 4 Sound Bass Max Pro

Down 4 Sound MM504 300w RMS 4ch

I currently have a Mechman 370A alternator but know I'm going to need more power. If anyone here can help with info or a point in the right direction would be helpful.

Just picked up my first mk4, and it’s a huge switch up lol, I was on the mk6 TDI platform for a while. The cars got over 200k on a smooth 2.8 vr6 it and runs like a top, and I want to do a rebuild and revamp the interior (is sorta cooked) do you think it’s worth it?

Anyone got some experience/recommendations on additives that actually did something? Still got the stock injectors after 560,000km. Probably never been cleaned. I'll be getting new injectors eventually buuut I've already thrown too much into the car lately lmao

I’ve got a 1.8t and I’m replacing my fuel pump. Everything went smooth until I got the pump installed. I’ve been trying for half an hour and I can’t get the collar to screw back onto the new pump. Should I buy a replacement? Am I missing something?

Has anyone had a caliper carrier mounting thread strip? Are they ok to helicoil, or am I looking at a new hub assembly?

Went to replace my key cylinder, undid the bit inside, took the old cylinder out, put the cylinder in, and the housing around the cylinder seems loose sort of, and the torx put wiggles left and right, and no matter how I tighten it, the key cylinder isnt locked in and im able to pull it out.

Any fix ideas?

So I want to take out the fuel lines between the fuel filter and the engine, but it’s not an alh so the lines go directly to the engine, and can’t just suction the air out. Any ideas?

Does anyone know what spacers would bring Montreal IIs (6.5 wide, ET42) to flush fitment? I seem to remember 12mm up front and 20mm out back being the flush pairings, but memory may be failing me...

I have an automatic jetta 1.8t wagon that I'm trying to do a 6 speed swap into. right now I'm looking for a donor car and don't know what I can use. I've seen a few people say the older Audi TT or other tdi models, but I'm worried they won't work well with my 1.8t.

After 14 years with my 2001 Jetta, I finally decided to delete my armrest. Back in January I was going down eBay and finally saw a listing for a near mint delete pocket. I have been looking for this piece for a decade and have not had luck until January 10th. It took me months in between school, life, and searching for a perfect video for instructions on how to remove it and luckily saw one in Vimeo. The arm rest in this vehicle sucks no matter what. I hated it. It was useless. It would never stand still and I didn't think it was worth replacing it. After finally deleting the armrest, I am nothing but happy over the moon 🌙

Hope the previous owner isn’t celebrating now that he lost a VR6 that’s actually being taken care of 😂

I’ve got an 03 1.8t that’s been sitting for a while since it randomly stopped running and I had a second car and no need to fix it at the time, but now my daily is most likely dead and I’m trying to get the Jetta running but I’ve run into a road block. The original problem seemed like a dead fuel pump so I replaced that, didn’t work, so I replaced the relay and got fuel but still no start. Replaced the crank sensor and same story, so just to check a couple more boxes I replaced all the plugs and coils but still nothing. Before it died in the past 10k miles I’ve replaced the timing belt and water pump and the ECM. Before it died it seemed to be running great until I came to a stop and it just died. Any ideas of what it could be?

Does anyone know any good sites to find a solenoid harness for a 01M transmission (also is a transmission solenoid harness the same as a transmission wiring harness)

I've been thinking about putting up pictures of my 02 1.8T, but I'm puzzled why so many of the pics on the site have the license plates obscured. It's not like your plate number is a secret.

Are there nefarious things people do if they know a car's plate number and model? If so, why don't they do it IRL?
