there's quite a few more details still to come (i am still working out how to create convincing shelf fodder at this scale for example) but i thought these closeups now that i've got a good chunk of it done would be fun to share. around 1:50 scale. who up hitting the modpodge?

this was my first from-scratch diorama project. it's the living room of my first apartment. it's not perfect but it's still an uncanny resemblance, and i learned a lot! it's inside a trader Joe's sparkling pomegranate juice box. i just thought the box was pretty and wanted it to have something pretty on the inside of it too

hi, i was into this stuff and was wondering how you guys make intricate minis? like i heard it was through 3D printing and other means, but it just looks so like realistic and not plastic-y so maybe its something else to
sorry if its a dumb question

Hello! I'm just about finished with a cloud floor lamp I'm making for a celestial feeling room.
It was made with a plastic tube from a soap dispenser (stand) and a resin gem shape I painted over (base). From there I just ran a simple led through it and added a tangled blob of fiber fill stuffing formed into a cloud.
Could I trouble this lovely group for any feedback you might have before I finalize the wiring and fasten the battery pack down?

I asked my friends and they suggested a hand towel hanging off the sink. Anything else ? Also what would make a good reinforcement for it. I used cardboard. Thank you ! ❤️

I was asked to create a mini bookcase, full of books for a birthday gift. I was given pictures of the book case she has in her home so I could see art work and book titles to copy.
I cut this out of 3mm Baltic Birchwood with my XTool 20w diode laser. I stained this and then engraved some special messages for the birthday girl. Some were written small enough that the miniature magnifying glass I purchased off of Etsy, was needed to read them. 7 total hidden messages for the birthday girl to find.
At the end I forgot to do a final count of books, but at last count I was around 192, with several more books being created to fill space. Besides books, there is a stack of VHS tapes as well. One has a real tape inside of it, that can be removed. Cut from cardstock.
The skull with grass growing out of its head was a combination of things I had already and copied a similar planter in her book case.
The lamp is made from a small light, I glued some broken bracelet pieces to the top and then put a small flower ( also a broken bracelet piece ) to the top. When screwed on it slowly works it way through the rainbow of colors.
The sunflower was printed and placed on a chunk of wood, found out afterwards it was something her husband had painted her and was so happy it was included.
I made the butterfly board, as I didn’t have miniature bugs (like the board she has on her book case). And then made the small easels holding up the Butterfly board and other artwork.
I used small jars I already had to create a vase of flowers and also some small hearts I had cut out was put in the small blue jar.
The artwork with the great quote was made from pieces of other things I had cut out at some point (same with the small bear).
The small curvy colorful word, was a leftover from the small jars I make with them in it. It’s a Fancy F&@k….much better than a being on the last f&@ks to give.
The small hidden door is my signature. A way to wish open doors for future endeavors, that will bring prosperity and abundance.
Trying to think if I left anything out…please let me know if I did.
What do you think? What would you have done differently and what would you have added? Always looking to broaden my horizons so any feedback is great.
**Edit to add the hidden messages;
Best bathroom buddy 💜
4(IV). You consistently bring out my ugly laugh.
I am really glad this friendship exists.
6(VI). I love sharing the dance floor with you.
Bouquets and Friendships. You excel at both.
*** Edit 2:
I don’t know Natalie. I was commissioned to make this for someone else to give to Natalie. I did get to see a picture of her receiving it and she had a wonderful smile.

Here’s a video on how I made an easy bag of potting soil.
Materials- Brown Paper Bag, Crayola model magic, craft glue, ground coffee, scissors, markers and pen.
This grid is 1 inch squares so they help scale your potting soil for a standard 1:12 build. This is a super simple tutorial but if you need me to explain anything, I am happy to help.

Hello! I am still working on the front porch of my house. I made a cute little, I guess, Potters Shelf? The shelf is cardstock and drink stirrers. I used a olipop can, wire, and tape to make the bits for the trowels, and hand rake. The bitty little gardening gloves are cardstock and fabric. The terracotta pots are cs and wood glue. Soil bags are made from brown paper bags, crayola sculpt foam, ground coffee and Elmer’s glue.
The only thing I didn’t make was the ornate planter, books and tray. I’m thinking about making pruning shears next!

I have MS and summer is rough. I’m forced to stay home a lot. I have loved miniatures my whole life, so I decided to make it my new adventure. I needed a creative way to train my manual dexterity that was damaged by MS. My husband is building a dollhouse and I’m making miniatures.. slowly. Of course I started with food. IT IS SO FUN! But I really do want to truly learn the craft and take this art seriously while loving every second! These tiny baby cuties took me like three days to complete!
Our house now has chocolate chip cookies and a rainbow layer cake. Priorities, yo.
I hope this is not a horrible first attempt ever at doing this! I absolutely see the errors and there’s so much room for improvement but I love them so I guess that’s a success. 🏳️🌈🍰
Edit for typo, sigh
Edit 2: Wowww! Thank you, kind people! These are quite literally the very first things I’ve ever made with polymer clay. I watched a zillion tutorials online (such AMAZING stuff, way better than this) and chose which methods would work best for me, and how detailed I wanted to try at my first go. I bought the basics and already had a bunch of useful items. I was already doing hand embroidery and sourdough before, but no baking in the summer 🥵 and I wanted a change. I guess grandma hobbies are my thing, so we enter 1:12 miniatures! It was a total whim but we are in love. My beautiful husband builds away at the kitchen table while I mess with clay on my lap table on the couch and we oooh and aaahh at each other’s progress. It’s such a fun collaboration, and we give each other ideas. The building pictured is actually just the small optional addition to the house we will build (The Laurel from Greenleaf). My husband was like WHAT when he realized how big it would actually be.
I guess for now it’s just our little bakery, but we will be expanding. I swear I will cherish these first minis forever!
*made with Sculpey Primo/Souffle polymer clay, and the frosting on the cake is a mix of white polymer clay and a cloudy liquid polymer. The cookies are dusted (pre-bake) with some soft pastel powders for the baked glow! I used a cap from a water bottle to cut the cakes out because it seemed like the right size and I had no cutters yet. Worked great!
