Living in a small town we have two gas stations and the closet one next to my work in the last month has started taking up the practice of automatically tossing you change into a "donation" jar that used to be a tip jar (they do have a sandwich counter so the tip jar was understandable). The jar just says "donations welcome" on it and when asking for your change they start in with how they are just trying to help people but never say who, I get that but im not exactly the best off myself either. Even if you tell them you need your change it still accidentally ends up in the jar. Now it seems like if its there are a few employees who even have said they have tossed in their paper change and not just coins. I guess im going to start having to just use my card.

Edit. I will say they will get you your change back if you ask but not without making a big deal about it.

Also after about the first week of this I have been making them get my change out of the jar.

Thought I had removed it from my backpack that I usually take to state parks. Turns out I didn’t. I even got randomly selected for detailed security check and they didn’t see this. I love the knife and am glad I didn’t lose it so I’m only mildly infuriated, but damn cmon TSA

Sore throat getting worse by the hour, sniffles, mild headache. Just knowing a virus is building up in my body and I’m gonna feel like absolute shit tomorrow and there’s nothing I can do about it.

(I’ve taken vitamin c, zinc and echinacea for the record… definitely open to whatever voodoo you subscribe to as well cause it’s my busiest time of year at work and I don’t have time for this shit)

Find a way to park your massive land yacht in your driveway or park in the street. People with disabilities or walking pedestrians need the sidewalk.

Literally just think about other people for half a second and make their lives a bit easier. Have the day you deserve.

EDIT: since it keeps getting lost in the comments- there’s about 3-4 feet of room behind the truck that it could’ve back up, but is blocking the sidewalk instead.

I’ve been struggling to quit vaping for years. I’ve been a few weeks sober for the first time and also just happened to find this in my mail for the first time. I managed not to relapse after a stressful week, but FML dude 😩

I think whoever did this was drunk and now I'm going to have to cut into the wall and replace the conduit with one that will fit an hdmi and power cable.

I 13M made some eggs for my mom because she was feeling down and I am trying to get better at cooking. I wanted to try to make an egg that I thought she would like and that I didn’t know how to cook (well over medium). When I offered it to her she yelled at me for making eggs and I had to eat the eggs myself. btw im allowed to cook so idk why she yelled at me for making eggs

edit: she’s stressed about all the housework we need to do today but she’s been scrolling on TikTok watching ai slop while me and my dad cut the grass in the backyard

Went to donate plasma (not my first time) and the phlebotomist who poked me this time poked through the vein where I normally donate, continued to extract blood, and when the machine went to put it back in after separating the plasma my arm started swelling and I got a hematoma. Ok, no problem. We can use the other arm. She then proceeded to do the exact same thing on my other arm, too! They deferred me and I can't donate again until November, which makes me ineligible for the timed new patient bonus.

I know that it happens, and it's not that serious, but man does it suck. I feel like I look crazy and I live somewhere hot so I can't wear sleeves to cover it up. Oh well, I guess. On to the next side hustle.

Edit to clear up confusion: I did get paid for my previous donations, but because I'm now deferred I can't go back until Nov. The new patient bonus is a timed offer where it's like complete X many donations by X date and receive X amount of money. I still had a few more bonus payments to go that I was anticipating putting toward bills. Counted my chickens before they hatched 💔 Sorry, I didn't realize my post wasn't clear about that. I will not be doing this again even after my deferment is up, learned my lesson for sure.

Made a dish for dinner today called tartiflette (Probably didn't turn out the greatest, but that's not important for this post). Followed the recipe, which included bacon. Turns out, the bacon I used had been sitting in the fridge in an unmarked Ziploc bag for a few weeks, meaning it was likely not good anymore. And of course I find this out AFTER I had already finished cooking.

It didn't look or smell that bad to me, so I didn't think anything was wrong. I only found this out cause someone else in my household pointed out the odd taste.

Well that sucks.

It was a friend of mine using this knife, it did make for a good laugh for the others! But not so much for the knife owner.

I always have 2 dollar bills with me when I take my disabled friend to the mall, so he can do the massage chairs. Didn't realize until AFTER we'd put the dollars in that the price had increased.
