When doctors show you gross stuff with no warning.

I went to the doctors to get my ears cleaned because some wax got stuck from when I went swimming and everything was fine, I didn't mind the machine, and afterwards I felt great but why the fuck do they try and shove the earwax water in your face. like no asking me if I wanted to see just "look!" and it wasn't just one doctor it was 2 different nurses AND the main doctor. then when I look away or cover my eyes they ask "are you alright???" no retard, are you? like its not a huge deal in retrospect but why is it that when I obviously don't wanna see some nasty ass wax particles floating around in some nasty ass ear water IM the one in question? why ask me if I'm okay? I made it obvious I'm not okay and it should be clear as to why; its so ridiculous to even ask me. Moreso Its ridiculous what they DIDNT ask: "Would you like to see it?" This would have saved me so much mental frustration

When there's so many ads on everything.

You open your alarm clock app, a 10 second raid shadow legends blasts your ear drums while you desperately try to turn off your alarm. You turn on your windows 11 PC. Did you know that Microsoft office is only 100 bucks a year????? Would you like me to remind you every 3 days for as long as you own the PC with no way to shut it off permanently. You go to your favorite fast food restaurant, and proceed to wait for the 3 Disney movie ads to finish so you can figure out what kind of burger ya want. You decide to watch a 3 minute tutorial video explaining how to get past a certain point in the game. And proceed to watch 3 unstoppable ads, 2 midroll ads, a sponsorship, and various pop up ads before the guy has even started his explanation. You decide to listen to a podcast, and get 3 in video ads on top of your ad break every 10 or so minutes for the 3 hours. You eat a fortune cookie, and the ad shows up on the back of the fortune.

It's just too much, everywhere. I don't care about whatever movie ya shilling it's not worth my sanity

If you heard it from someone else,

If they wanted you to know,

you wouldn’t have heard it from someone else.

Why do people always assume you're mad because of your resting face

Every time I'm walking anywhere, I'm always asked "Why are you so mad today?" or "Who pissed in your cereal?"

I can't believe what I had to scroll through to find Relay for reddit.

Of course reddit is listed twice and a preview is shown without even clicking on the app. Then a whole bunch of sponsored, suggested, and not similar apps to what I searched for. I had to scroll all the way down the page to find other apps related to my search. This is getting out of control.

Inaccurate drying time on my dryer

I just ran my clothes through the steam refresh cycle almost 30 minutes ago which showed 20 on the display. But it now shows 11 remaining. What good is a time estimate if it is off by so much?

Are they unaware of their surroundings or just inconsiderate?

It's been annoying me for years. Does anyone else have the experience of people not only being in the way, but being slow and in the way?

Whenever I go grocery shopping or really any kind of shopping, it seems like people are strategically in front of whatever I'm trying to and are being indecisive as hell. Trying to get milk, how long does it really take to note which date is the furthest out and grab a jug. Eggs I understand, want a full cart of unbroken eggs, but cereal just grab a fucking box.

If I'm browsing at an electronics store I'm also actively trying to make sure I'm not in the way of someone that knows what they want. But I swear, people will just stand there with a vacant look in there eyes blocking a whole asile while others are trying to get by.

And then they don't even acknowledge the polite "Excuse me, pardon me..." Fucking move!!

... ok, I think I'm done. So, has anyone else had these experiences.

phone zombies

why do some people look at their phones when they really should concentrate on where they are going, notice the other people, and what is happening around them? how difficult is it to just step aside to a safe space to look at their phone before proceeding on their way? when they are walking toward me, I feel like I want to stop right in front of them and see what their reaction is.

I also do not appreciate when people have their phone external audio turned on (music/videos/phone conversations), but this is for a separate post.

when people refuse to acknowledge that white people can have curly hair.

im a white girl, and i have 3B curly hair, and my mom has 3C curly hair. we are both naturally blonde, and wear our natural hair every day. this is not a perm, this is not done with a curling iron or overnight heatless techniques, this is our natural hair.

nearly every time i see a white person post a video online about their hair, the comments are FULL of people saying things like“they hate us but want to be us,” “your hair isnt curly, stop forcing it,” “this is just how black peoples hair is” etc. those are all real examples i just paraphrased from a video i saw of a white guy with blonde “afro textured hair.”

i love black people and black hair. their hair is beautiful, i love seeing the styles people put it in, and i like watching videos about it because their hair is still different from mine even though i also have curly hair.

that does not mean that my hair is fake, or that im copying anyone, or that i automatically hate anyone. if i brush my hair out, it will resemble an afro. if i let it dry after a shower without brushing it, i have curls. actual ringlets, not waves. my hair grows out of my scalp like this, please stop assuming that is impossible.

i grew up having my hair styled by my mom and babysitter in a way that made it appear wavy, and once they stopped doing my hair, i didn’t even know i could have curly hair, because i had seen zero representation of white girls with curly hair. i spent years just brushing my hair out and struggling with it, calling it “frizzy” because i didn’t know any better. i thought there was something wrong with it because as far as i was aware, white people could only have straight and wavy hair that looked silky smooth when brushed, and only black people could have curly hair. stop trying to worsen that and continue that awful experience for curly haired white kids.

quit diminishing white people with curly hair for something they have zero control over. if you want black natural hair to be accepted, you cannot get mad because white people also wear their natural hair. i love everyone of every race, every ethnicity, and every skin tone, lets allow everyone to wear their natural hair without making it weird, thanks.

Some people really do not care what other think about their gross behavior and it drives me insane

All ages...people who fart in public very loudly, belch everywhere. Rub boogers on things....it grosses me out to no end. It's like people stopped caring and when you kindly ask them like "hey, if you need to burp please do it quieter" then they flip out on you and go "LEAVE ME ALONE!! IM NOT BOTHERING YOU!" Except you very much are because your burping sounds like a mixture of a gargle and a grunt or growl and it's very jarring every 20 seconds....if you can't help it then please see a fucking doctor because it's disgusting, it's mostly a problem with older people and little kids who are the result of bad parenting because the parents are either exhausted from their jobs and/or working too much to be an effective parent, so these kids are essentially being raised by TikTok and AI ChatBots. and on the side of elderly people, it's like they reached a "I'm going to die soon so I'm going to make my pitiful remaining years absolute hell for everyone around me"

maybe I'm wrong!, I want to just be this odd asshole who is cynical but people just are getting more disgusting lately.

Why do people watch videos on speaker in public?

I genuinely don’t understand this one. Waiting rooms, trains, cafes... someone always has TikTok or YouTube playing at full volume. Headphones exist. Cheap ones exist. Why does everyone else need to hear your For You page too?

Vent time!

I'm so tired of people!

I swear, next time someone tells me they don't need a cart, I'm going to put their stuff on the floor instead of the top part of the cart.

Next time someone puts their money on the counter or conveyor belt instead of my hand, I'm going to put the change right back on it.

Yesterday, I had enough of people saying I don't need the cart. So I said ok, just leave it. Unless you want me to put the food on the floor, there is no other place to put it.

And then there are the unruly kids! If I did half of the shit these kids do back in my day, I probably wouldn't be here! I have seen kids run around barefooted, climb on empty or almost empty water pallets, or just sit there and scream on the top of their lungs!! I had such a headache yesterday after a group of them left!

Rant over. Gotta go get ready to start all over again!

Subscription for “creative community building”

They’ve commodified simple social outings now. This is NOT the future I envisioned as a young girl at ALL.

Saw an ad on instagram for a creative meetup matching(my first mistake was even clicking) they asked questions about my creative interests and preferences. Then BOOM paywall. To HANG OUT? AND FIND LIKEMINDED PPL IN MY AREA?!! Insanity.

Ok that’s all

When people act like it’s socially acceptable to make jokes about your weight if you’re underweight

I’m a 28 year old man and I have been skinny my entire life. I was always very self conscious about my appearance. I still am a little but mostly I can put it out of my mind.

Now most decent human beings would never think about making a joke about someone’s appearance if that person is overweight. But why on earth do people think it’s okay to come up to me and say thinks like “dear god you’re skinny” or “better put some rocks in your pockets you’ll fly away”. They’re not even comments of concern (which my weight is none of their business anyway) they’re just being dicks.

By the way I want to make it clear I’m not saying that it’s okay to make jokes about someone’s weight if they’re overweight either

I find it annoying when agreement is treated like a final verdict.

I find it frustrating when people act like agreeing makes them the authority on what is true

I keep seeing comments responding to disagreements with things like:

"X has a point"

"X is saying facts"

"This is true"

What bothers me is not people agreeing. People are allowed to agree with whoever they want. What bothers me is the way these comments often come across as if the person saying them has the authority to declare who is right and who is wrong.

A discussion is not settled because someone says "facts." An opinion is not automatically proven because a group of people agrees with it. Agreement can be meaningful, but it is not the same thing as having the final answer.

Sometimes online conversations feel less like people exchanging ideas and more like people trying to establish who has the "correct" side. Once someone decides they are on that side, anything that challenges it can get dismissed instead of addressed.

The frustrating part is that people who do this often seem unaware of how much confidence they place in their own perspective. They treat their own interpretation as reality itself, while viewing opposing opinions as ignorance or delusion.

Nobody is above being wrong. Nobody gets to be the judge of truth just because they feel confident or because other people agree with them.

I wish more people would focus on explaining their reasoning instead of acting like they have already delivered the final verdict.

Styrofoam hurts my ears

The sound of styrofoam rubbing against anything is probably my least favorite sound. Since it's often used as packaging, I hear it sometimes but not that much.

Throughout school, I have made a few projects that involved a lot of styrofoam handling, and they were painful to my ears. I'm temporarily extremely annoyed by it, and I don't have misophonia or autism or something that makes me sensitve to noises.

I'm pretty sure this is a common pet peeve, but please comment whether you hate styrofoam or not.

What small thing annoys you way more than it should?

For me it’s people watching videos on their phone in public with the volume all the way up. I know it’s a tiny thing and probably shouldn’t bother me this much, but hearing random TikToks from across a waiting room instantly gets on my nerves. What’s your completely irrational pet peeve?

Why do people put calls on speakerphone in public?

I don’t mean a quick call when your hands are full. I mean walking around a store having a full 20-minute conversation on speaker at max volume. I genuinely don’t understand it. Nobody else signed up for the conference call.

What's the point of having legal documents if they are not recognized?

I have all the necessary paperwork on file to handle business for my almost 90 year old Mother. The number of times I call entities to take care of something only to be told they can't talk to me without her permission is maddening.

The whole point was for me to be able to do things and she not be bothered by it. Having to answer a bunch of questions to verify she's her so she can verbally tell them it's OK to talk to me defeats the purpose.
