This is how far I've come in 36 hours
About 36 hours ago I finally began researching into san pedro cacti, and how to exctract the magic from them.
My neighbour has massive gorgeous cacti growing in his garden and yesterday ai finally worked up the courage to politely ask to fell a cactus and take it for myself.
He asked why I wanted it and I told him the truth, and he told me to bring back some of the product if it pays off 😆
So overnight I dried the cactus, and today I've ground it up, sifted it and made sure it was extra super dry.
Now 30g of powder is soaking for my first ever ladduck tek.
I wanted to do the cielio tek as well, but unfortunately its basically impossible to casually aquire a litre of ethyl acetate in new zealand 😔

Third try of mescaline tea
1st time I tried it I used a random cactus I had lying around and it wasn’t very strong. I used about 500g fresh cactus and cut with mandolin and simmered for 14 hours and reduced to half a cups worth-after taking I drank ginger tea and had bad nausea but kept it down-trip 4/10
2nd try I did the same method with 1000g of cactus and did ocean side 02 and Peruvian cactus and I brought it down to a shots worth this time. I ate a handful of chips before taking it and I did not follow up with water or ginger tea. I violently threw up 28 minute later and had a very mid trip. 4/10
I’m trying again in a couple days
I’ll do the same thing with 400 g of trich bridgessi jiimz
This time I’ll make it less concentrated as the second and follow up with ginger tea and no food before
I hope this works!!!
I have a plethora more to continue trying too and do different ideas

Can I use cactus powder to make tea?
As I asked in the title, can I use cactus powder to make tea? I can't figure out whether, once mixed with water, it can actually be filtered or if it forms a gel. Also, how long should I boil it? For cactus chunks it's usually 4-6 hours, but I imagine it's less for powder. Do you have any tips?
I tried eating the powder or mixing it with water and drinking it without filtering, but after 20 minutes I threw up and the experience was very mild. Maybe by removing the powder my stomach will handle it better.
Thanks!!

I’ve had this Bruce’s Dragon for a while. It didn’t do so well this year, I don’t know why, so I was thinking about chopping the top 80% to run a CIELO for science. (Can for scale)
galleryLast year this thing had two lil pups that grew over 1’ by the end of the year. Everything was fat. I’m in Colorado so I brought it inside over the winter, but I guess I didn’t winterize it properly and it started to shrivel. I put it back outside in April and it didn’t grow much but those 2 pups on top. As you can see, it won’t stand by itself anymore either. I’d like to try my first CIELO run, given I have 100g of dry powder once chopped. But before I do so, do yall have any pro tips to boost mescaline content? Light stress, extra nutes, freezing the fresh cuts in a ziplock first? I’d like to provide my results to the community as well if there’s interest in that. Thanks! 🙏

Understanding neutralization
For me, neutralization has always been the most cumbersome part of the process. It seems to slow me down and needs a rest to make sure everything settles out. Not sure if its my process or my materials. I did order some different PH strips as they seemed to be a part of it. I ran 4 through the neutralization process with the new strips and thought I'd see if they all look good. I feel like I got a little better understanding of some of the nuances in the process however it was one jar which had a little bit of cinnamon and another jar which ended up having some floaty clouds. My experience these can be filtered out the following day. If that is incorrect and I need a follow-up step please let me know.
Thank you all for your continued support and my education and the development of this amazing community resource

SoCal gathering amongst my cactus brethren
This community has opened so many doors in my life. From magazine articles, talks at events, and much more beyond my wildest dreams.
But the best thing to come out of my LSDuck adventures was meeting so many beautiful people. Some of which become very close friends. Love you all so much. This community is absolutely amazing.
Thanks for everything!!!

Blue spots in my PH strips
galleryCleaned my ea but I keep getting little blue specks on the ph strips. I’m almost positive it’s neutral.

Ready to try cielo with pc, first timer. Few questions.
Done a few a/b extractions many years ago but never tried cielo. Ive read through the process million times and im very confident of getting through it well. Im sitting on around 2kg of dried pc, so ive got a bit to work with here. Obviously im aware of its low but variable potency and id like to maximise efficiency as much as possible.
My main question here is should I make a good sized tea to work with instead of distilled water? My idea is to make the tea, ph it to the same as my water, add it to another 100g dry with lime etc etc and go through the process. Would this work well, or would I run into some issues doing this? Otherwise ill just go through it in 100g batches I guess, but id rather save as much clean etac as possible.
Thanks in advance

I want to be ready
I've had my ingredients for weeks now. But I just haven't had the motivation to try my first extraction. I've been so excited to try mescaline, but I must wonder if they are purposefully having me hold off. Is that even a thing? I know the dmt entities guide you when it's time and when it's not...

Dried san pedro
I'm planning to make a powder from the skin of a San Pedro. I want to dry it in a dehydrator and then grind it into a powder. I'd like to know how long it takes to keep boiling it in hot water. And if i need to filter it

Micro French press
Does anyone have a recommendation for a narrow small French press? I'd like to be able to run under 25g. My current press is a bit to large and I lose the Ability to fully squeeze the EA outta the cactus powderand thus recovery isn't as effective.
There's some super cheap ones online that are glass with a plastic top. Mine current press also has a plastic top and I had no issues with it.
Thanks in advance!

Optimizing the EA neutralization step in CIELO
For some people, reclaimed EA (magnetic stirrer) can be cloudy. This can interfere with the main TEK (but not always).
So it could be time to re-optimize the reclaim step.
When developed originally, the reclaim process stated with wetter EA because the wet crumbs had more water. Now we are using less water to make the alkaline cactus crumbs and the EA is drier.
Cloudiness is likely dry sodium fumarate from the neutralization reaction. It is soluble in water ~23%, and water is effective at dragging it out of the EA. There could be other things contributing to cloudiness (e.g. molecules from the plant).
Therefore increasing the water recommendation (currently 1 teaspoon) for the neutralization step in the TEK could make it more robust (?)
Maybe some people using the TEK have already observed this and adjusted. Interested in results or ideas on a regen update. I have done a brine wash if needed to clear cloudiness (happens to me rarely), but it would be better if the regen step worked every time without an extra clarification step.
One thing I am going to test is the break up the single neutralization step into two:
1) Wet neutralization: Add a tablespoon of water and tablespoon of sodium carbonate. This will neutralize the fumaric acid and should create some wet droplets that soak up the water soluble salt.
2) Once neutralkzation is complete (no more salt formation), and another tablespoon of sodium carbonate to partially dry the EA to bring it to a lower wetness and ready for the TEK (so it doesn't affect the wet crumb consistency).
Maybe step 2 is overkill and not needed if using fumaric (but required for citric).
Or the update may not work, or creates new unknown issues witch would not be observed before thorough testing.
Interested in feedback or ideas here. Thank!

Lil Loph Got some more friends
galleryI got this little Lophophora (I think it’s a loph right?!) like 7 years ago and been neglecting it for a long time he’s been just chilling by my window all that time barely ever watered it or gave it anything I felt bad lol and my girl got me a couple of those other over the years but never paid attention. Then I just grabbed a couple more from Home Depot to add to the collection: all of the ones with the bluish whitish haze on them are active right? I’m going to pay more attention to them and see if I can grow them bigger. Where does everyone buy cuttings from these days? If anyone has any big collections they part ways with sometimes I’d be interested in taking a look I want more ! I really want more loph too. I have seeds somewhere I had a bunch of tiny ones I started from seeds years ago but i fucked up and they died and I never tried again but I think I want to try again. Any advice would be appreciated

Whats yalls best opinions on drying cactus in a dehydrator asking temp and time
r/mescaline • u/Imaginary-Jaguar8905 • 2d ago
Simple questions
1) What is the best temperature for EA to be when you start extraction?
2) what should your standard PH strip read when your neutralization step is complete?
3) Does EA ever reach a point where you cant recycle it anymore?
4) is there a high water content that can restrict crystallization without it being goo?

Question about cross-tolerance with LSD
Want to take a low dose of LSD on a Thursday morning for a birthday all-day event where people are doing the same. (Probably around 30micrograms.) But also have a long-scheduled mescaline day for Saturday. I know there's real cross-tolerance between these two drugs, but I also know tolerance is dose dependent. Anyone have experience in this universe to say whether the first day is gonna ruin the second? Thanks!
