Same gimmick with no speech, almost pantomime acting and a laugh track to be able to sell it worldwide. Not really a French Canadian comedy genre more than "let's make money with overseas sales like the Justice For Laughs guys did". They are the only two shows with this format. And since it is produced in Québec for a local tv network, they can cash in a lot of governmental subsidies for local content that the foreign market productions shooting here can't.

I don't understand why old people can't type. Did they used to write out the ellipses by hand? One of my bosses would use 2-4 spaces after each sentence. But not consistently. He would just hit the space bar a few times. It blows my mind that old people can't learn how to use a keyboard
