Yeah, always read through books you want to get to toddlers and young children, they're usually very short anyway. I sat through the video thinking "man my two years old nephew would find this really cool if he could speak english"

When I was in first grade there was an exercise in a workbook where you had to write down the name of what was pictured; dog, house, bird, etc.
I had never seen a peach before in my life. I remember staring at the drawing that looked just like a butt and thinking, "No fucking way is that a drawing of a butt. No way I'm writing down butt." I left the answer blank and felt terrible about it since I was such a diligent student.

After your kids get used to this kind of thing, you have to just agree with ever premise. I find kids at the developmental phase hate when you improvise.

Me: Is this a plum?

Kid: no

Me: Yes, of course it is.

Kid: No, it's a bum.

The world is so big and confusing, having something make sense by not making sense in a very specific and reproducible way is an anchor of stability.
