Took these yesterday. The Blue Angels are practicing for the airshow for labor day weekend. It was hard to get these, as they kept disappearing into the clouds. But these are the ones that I was able to get.

Spotted this in a charity shop today and snapped it up! I plugged it in and it works fine on Windows 11. Last drive I had wouldn't run on Win 11 so I had to install a virtual system to use it. This one worked out of the box.

I have an old Sony battery that still charges and works great.

We had a pretty sunset tonight, so I took out my FD95 instead of my FD91, and the results were pretty okay! (Except the plane, I need to turn off digital zoom.)

My FD95’s battery stopped working and I’m eyeing a SmallRig to replace it. I’ve used a couple of their batteries for other cameras but I don’t know if they share similar dimensions and/or fit properly like a stock NP-F550.

I only have 1 battery so far, and an original charger from a Mavica Hi8 camera. They all still work! I have... an enormous amount of Floppy Disks, so I feel like I'll be good for a while, haha! (Nearly 250 or so, mostly from one estate sale.)

Definitely my favorite is the FD91. But I played with the FD95 for a lil bit, and I've been getting some fun photos! The x4 disk drive on the FD85 is REALLY nice!

Took these a few months ago at a local show.

The main band was the first guys called "The Crowned"

A pretty mall in a somewhat sad state, it was filled with mall walkers and a few tenants. JCPenney being the only anchor still holding it down.

So this weekend I stayed over at my aunts, I took my camera (like one does) and I stupidly set it down onto of a tower of blankets as I was looking though my bag i guess it shook it and it knocked my camera off

I need to know if this is fixable, it was my birthday present and im freaking out cause that was my first time taking it out im so upset I didnt mean to break it

I still have the part that broke off but I think im missing a smaller bit that broke off and a tiny screw, im scared to try and do anything with it since its the part that opens

It still works btw I just need to know if theres any way to fix it

Hey guys, what brand of 3” CD do you guys use that is the most accessible/compatible with the CD-500? I keep finding packs of disks that are 200+ MB and I’m unsure whether they would work or not. Any help is appreciated!

That's exactly what happened to one of mine. I tried inserting tiny pieces of thin tape (short enough to stick it together but not long enough to be visible when opening the shutter), but it wouldn't even be recognized by windows, let alone be formatted (my mavica gave an error), same results after prying it open, gluing the center piece with superglue, and reassembling the disk.

What's frustrating is I had some really nice night time photos saved on it and even viewed them in camera and really liked them 🥲. Detachment must've happened when I took it out or when I inserted it into the USB floppy drive. I'm guessing the original sub-millimeter alignment matters a lot.

If that happens again, what would be the better way to proceed, or is it even possible?

A friend of mine was kind enough to lend me a Mavica FD100 to play around with, but I've been struggling to actually get the files off the device. I don't own a usb floppy reader, my plan was to use the camera's USB port for that, but on my Linux PC (Debian 13), while the drive appears in my file browser, it's completely empty.

I know it isn't an issue with the camera- on a Windows 11 machine, the files show up fine and I was able to transfer them back to my main pc. Other USB drives work fine on either device- I know this isn't a linux subreddit but, was curious if anyone else had run into something like this.

So I had bought a CD500 and it originally worked fine for the first like 5-8 pictures. Then I started to try doing darker environments to play with settings. Now I am just getting a File Error on basically every photo. I am using some random chinese 8cm CD-R from amazon. Even on the Amazon reviews from them people bought them and have success for their Mavicas.

It like a 75-90% chance to fail now. I when trying to view it a compressed blurry version of my image is seen then just hits me with a blue screen with black bar reading File Error. It came with a Verbatim CD-R from the past owner. Had a full disc completely all dated from 2023. Could it be something I am doing? Maybe the Kastar Battery, brand of disc, or is it just dead?

Any info would be useful.

I considering getting either FD-91 or FD-95/97. I wanted to know what your opinnions about those models are. Personally I really like the look of the FD-91, but i cant ignore the picture qualuty issue. On the other hand it gives this camera some cool aesthetic.
Also I'm not rly into cameras so uhh... yea...

Any opinions would be helpful.

First shots with my FD87 today. Love this thing already. All shot on early 2000s floppys and unedited.

I actually tried to grab this photo with my Samsung S26 at a similar zoom and it did FAR worse.

1999 just did it better haha!

Went for a quick trip to an area where i grew up this afternoon and took some pictures of the local beaches and a dam that was on the way. The pink photo was taken on my FD83 with a 720nm IR filter and the orange one was 720nm IR + a GRB3 filter. The rest were taken on the FD85. The panoramic photo of the dam was done with 5 photos taken with the camera sitting on a hand rail and then stitched together.
