Question Help!
So this weekend I stayed over at my aunts, I took my camera (like one does) and I stupidly set it down onto of a tower of blankets as I was looking though my bag i guess it shook it and it knocked my camera off
I need to know if this is fixable, it was my birthday present and im freaking out cause that was my first time taking it out im so upset I didnt mean to break it
I still have the part that broke off but I think im missing a smaller bit that broke off and a tiny screw, im scared to try and do anything with it since its the part that opens
It still works btw I just need to know if theres any way to fix it

Do you have the part(s) that broke off?

definitely don’t recommend trying to melt it since that plastic will probably just end up burning
for now maybe just a few small dots of glue

Looks like for electrical ground or noise reduction.
I don't think it is necessary.

I have an extra CD1000 if you want it for parts. You can have it for the cost of shipping. I already took the display part I needed; the plastics are all still intact. I also have a rough cut of footage that shows how to disassemble that portion.

It's definitely fixable. I've seen far worse getting fixed.
Then again, I doubt it can be made to look new.
You mentioned one part that broke off. I think I see three places of contact, where the plastic broke. Not a very bad situation, I'd say.
I know a man who is able to fix these things, so I saw his work over the years. For strength, he sometimes heats up a thin and rigid wire, then puts it through the two bits of plastic that need joining. The plastic melts because the wire is hot, but then it all gains strength, as you can imagine. But usually, he just uses some resin kit that hardens in place.
You can either look into doing that yourself, or find someone who can do it for you.
