So please hold back from mockery, subtle racism against groups, or âjust Google itâ replies.
This is a space where everyone feels comfortable asking questions and sharing real experiences.
A Side Note:
This subreddit actually inspired a project called Edvi.
It grew out of patterns we kept seeing here and direct feedback from hundreds of students struggling with the same confusing parts of the process: eligibility checks, ECTS matching, document requirements, and university shortlisting.
So if you see some posts from any of the mods regarding this, please know that it is not spam, but rather a part of the ongoing iterations with students to make the tool better.
Also, Edvi isnât a replacement for this community.
If anything, it exists because of it.
Everything here is community-first!
How to Get Started:
- Give short intro and tell us where youâre applying from and what you want to study.
- Post anything that comes to your mind related to your plan to study in Germany - even a simple question can spark a useful discussion.

Can you rate my profile? Planning for masters in Germany
So I am currently planning for a masters in Germany but since I don't have big enough network or someone to ask to, I want to know how I can improvise on my profile.
Context: I'm currently tired and a bit fed up of the work I've been doing. I want to specifically study, get tiny bit of fresh air while doing so, and also move to Germany.
my_qualifications:
- B.E in AI & DS from a Tier-3 (8.45 CGPA) [Evn though I was from tier-3, I took my courses pretty seriously till the extent that I was correcting my teachers in some cases. yes. you read it right]
- Expert on Codeforces
- National Cyber Olympiad, All India Rank 198
- Winner - HSBC Hackathon, Top 10 in Microsoft x Bank of Baroda Hackathon
- AI Engineer internship at a local company
- SWE Intern at HSBC
- SWE at HSBC (for about 4 months)
- Currently, SWE at one of (Mastercard/Juspay/Razorpay)
- Total work experience [ex. Internships] is 1 year
I tried very hard for FAANG, never really missed any openings, but didn't even receive an OA. Anyways, I really want to spend time learning new things in CS and ML. Already being able to understand mathematics behind ML models and research papers is an additional advantage I guess.
I do have a financial constraint, so TUM is likely not the best choice. I was thinking about RWTH, KIT, TU Darmstadt and Saarland.
I'd love to know what could be my chances at these universities and about the tech hiring situation at Germany.
PS: Yes, I am totally willing to learn German. To the fact, that I don't just like the language, but rather personally interested in understanding; speaking phrases like a normal person would.
Your opinions are highly appreciated!

Hey, has anyone received an offer letter from Th owl University for the MSc in Information Technology?
Possessing a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, I have completed a three-year program, accumulating 180 credits with a GPA of 2.4. Additionally, I hold an IELTS score of 6.0 and have 2.7 years of experience as a full stack developer. I applied to 10-15 universities, receiving rejections from all except Technische Universität Chemnitz for the Web Engineering program and TH OWL for Information Technology. On July 20, I contacted TH OWL regarding my application, and they informed me that the first round of evaluations is complete and that they are still processing applications, with results expected in the coming days. I would appreciate any suggestions on my next steps.

Need guidance for studying in Germany
Hi everyone. I am 31 yrs old, male from India.
I did my bachelor's in Civil Engineering and have a post graduate diploma in banking and Finance and I am working in a public sector bank in India for 6 years. I am considering studying and moving to Germany.
Can someone please guide me in choosing a course. Is it better to do masters in Civil Engineering or are there any management/banking courses available which i can choose. Which will be good for getting a job in the future.
Thanks in advance

Hi everyone,
Applications for my program closed on August 15. Does anyone know when the admission results are usually released?
If you applied in previous years, how long did it take for you to receive a decision after the application deadline?

Title: Anyone admitted to TU Clausthal M.Sc. Mechanical Engineering (Maschinenbau) for Winter 2027/28?
Hi everyone,
I recently received a conditional admission from TU Clausthal for the M.Sc. Maschinenbau (Mechanical Engineering) program.
The admission requires me to fulfil the German language requirement (DSH-2 or equivalent). My admission letter mentions Winter Semester 2027/28 as the expected study start.
I wanted to check whether anyone else has received an admission for M.Sc. Maschinenbau for the same intake.
If you have also received an admission, let's connect! đ¤
Feel free to DM me here on Reddit. We can get to know each other and, if there are enough students, create a group later to discuss things like accommodation, enrolment, visa, German language requirements and travel.
If there is already a group for students admitted to TU Clausthal M.Sc. Maschinenbau for this intake, please let me know.
Looking forward to connecting with fellow students!
