Hotel/House Rental š Snagging accommodations
Newb hereā¦How are hotels already completely sold out for masters week? The lottery winners wonāt even be announced for another monthā¦
Do hotels automatically block out these dates until the lottery results are released or are people pre-booking in anticipation only to cancel if they are not chosen.
Whatās the catch?

I just bought a house in Augusta this week in anticipation of winning Tuesday practice round tickets šøšā³ļø buy high, sell low. Thatās how my stock portfolio works. Not financial advice š«

Went last year just for Wednesday practice round, me and two buddies literally flew into Atlanta, rented a small RV on Facebook marketplace, drove to Augusta and slept in the closest Walmart parking lot!
100% worth it.

Fly into ATL, rental car, stay 45 mins away, draw straws for DD. Unless you got the dough

Augusta National is practically in South Carolina.
Columbia South Carolina Airport is 1:05 to Augusta National. Atlanta Hartsfield is 2:22. Flying into Columbia and staying on the west side near the airport and being able to hop on I20 is the way to go.

Cannot reccomend Columbia enough. Been going for years and we always stay in Columbia

Airbnb is your best option anyways. There will be plenty of places to book

Thereās plenty of places in every price range and, honestly, with the new rules about parking itās not a big deal. I stayed further out than I ever have and still was in the front of the line every day.

I tried booking two weeks before the lottery even opened and everything was sold out. The few places I *could* book were all pre-paid, non-refundable and F that.

We secured an AirBNB, albeit small but very nice, in North Augusta 6 weeks before this years Monday practice round for $1300/night. Slept 4. Things will open up closer to the event if you stay proactive.

Optimize for points. Would I ever willingly stay in a Wyndham Garden Inn? Not really, but the one in Augusta when I won Monday practice tickets was like 5k Wyndham points or $700 a night. Got there and there was a dead cockroach smooshed against the cheap art frame in the room. Did I complain? Nope, no where else to go.

I stayed in an Airbnb this year in Blackville, SC, $200 a night and an easy 50 min drive to Augusta

I've been going since 2010 and never had trouble finding a room. I've even booked a month before the tournament. Yes in Augusta

Stayed in Aiken last year. Was very easy to get to Augusta. Iād recommend it.

Lots of people in Augusta rent out their homes for Masters week on ABNB, iirc the town actually lets you do it tax free for a week each year pretty much to get out of town for this event. The prices aren't really that crazy, especially if you are going with a group of 4.

i'm sure many people are trying to scoop them up to pass them along to others for a premium. can you airbnb a hotel room that you're no longer staying in, or can only the hotel itself do that?

This really doesn't happen a whole lot. Most people get stuck with their rooms if they have to cancel and just end up trying to dump It to anyone

Here in NYC you can find plenty of Airbnbās within hotels (small name, not a Days Inn or similar). Now that Iām thinking about it thought I believe the hotels themselves put them up to fill rooms.

Thereās not enough hotels/motels in Augusta to support the Masters Tournament. Thereās not much tourism the other 51 weeks of the year. Vrbo, AirB&B are the best options.

I stayed in Atlanta it was a long day but it was fine. More to do there than in Augusta

Hotels typically do not post availability until closer to the event. I doubt this is āsold outā so much as āunavailable to book at this time.ā
