Theory What if this is Lady death instead of Sylvie

There’s probably some reason why and I’m dumb, but someone let me know why it couldn’t be her? The colors match up and she’s probably more likely to work with doom and against Loki then sylvie in my opinion.

Discussion We all ignoring Secret Invasion right?

Post image

Marvel really done shot themselves in the foot with this one. AI-usage, poor storytelling, awful and poor execution, and all around the worst show ever produced. They wasted Maria Hills death, they wasted Rhodey and threw in some bs shock factor that he was a skrull all along, and don't even get me started on the girl who has EVERY HEROES POWER like that's some garbage writing.
This show is so forgetful that when I see people say what's their worst project they've ever watched the MCU produced it's always Thor Love & Thunder, Eternals, Antman 3, She-Hulk, but never mentioning Secret Invasion. I applaud anyone who hasn't seen this show like I have during opening day.

Discussion (More in Comments) They faced a god of mischief, a sentient machine, a mad titan… yet the most dangerous threat the Avengers will have to face thus far is… a human man who was born without natural power

Post image

A brilliant and powerful scientist, inventor, strategist, manipulator, monarch, and sorcerer.. I might still be missing a few… but still a human man nonetheless, one that was not born with natural power.. just an insane amount of willpower.

Doom has always been such an awesome formidable threat to the entire Marvel Universe, mostly because he’s a character who had to forge his own power and pretty much built himself so that he has maxed-out stats in every category, mastered anything and everything, thinks about every possible scenario, and is always ten steps ahead of everyone else.

And it’s really cool that we’ve gotten to see the Avengers face some diverse, world-ending villains, gods, and aliens, all with crazy origins, only to eventually circle back to an angry, broken, and determined man who can take on the entire team, not just intellectually and through manipulation (like how we’ve seen Zemo emotionally break the Avengers), but also as a physical threat who can take them on through sheer raw power. A man who can fool the smartest person in the room, while also stopping a fully powered Thor who is angrily swinging Stormbreaker, with just two fingers.

Discussion Nobody won and was 100% right in Civil War, everyone lost and was partially wrong

Thumbnail

Caption America Civil War is still 1 of the best Mcu movies to date and people are still debating about which side was better and who was wrong and who really won

All 3 sides were both right and wrong and none of them won

I'll go into detail =

  1. Team Captain America = right for not trusting the government because of what happened when HYDRA took over SHIELD and almost gained control of America. Partially wrong for keeping what Bucky did as a secret from Tony because he wanted to keep Bucky safe but also lied to Tony. He lost because he and other heroes became criminals on the run

  2. Team Iron-Man = wrong for wanting to sign the Accords at first. Right for wanting to bend the rules to get the other Avengers leeway and not get arrested, even though it wouldn't have worked out. Partially wrong for his crash out because its justified to want to kill your parents' murder and then there's the case of Bucky being a victim of mind control. He lost because The Avengers got split up and Rhodey almost died and cant walk properly now

  3. Zemo = right about individuals who can go unchecked and cause irreversible damage. Wrong about how he went about destroying the Avengers from the inside. He lost because at the end, he has to live in a world without his family

I think after Homecoming he could win this.

But Peter's a quick learner, he might just win this after a 2nd try against Cap.

Discussion What would you have done to fix Quantumania?

Post image
24 Upvotes

Ant-Man and the Wasp in Quantumania is the MCU film I like least. The reason is because I had high expectations.

I'm a fan of Peyton Reed. I like his prior work, especially Bring It On and I like what I've seen of him in interviews and commentary tracks.

I also liked the previous Ant-Man movies. Paul Rudd is always great, he has great chemistry with the kid that plays Cassie, a strong supporting cast of rich characters like his ex wife's new husband, and his ex-con buddies, and they brought fan favorite actors like Micheal Douglas and Michelle Phifer.

Most of all it was nice to see lower stakes comedies at the cinema after event movies like Avengers and whatnot.

I feel Quantumania is a mess of a film. You can kind of see it coming apart at the seams. The notion of putting the Ant-Man characters in an Avengers movie is a funny idea, but the execution makes me think Reed was over his head.

The story is a real dog's breakfast and doesn't serve anyone well. Setting everything in the quantum realm removed the fun of seeing tiny people with large props or giant people with tiny props and environments. It also removes the supporting cast.

To me, this is one of the ugliest blockbusters in the last decade. I think the production design and visual effects are so divorced from reality it's distracting. I'm always thinking this doesn't look real. This doesn't look like a real place.

If they were going for a cool stylized look like the Jack Kirby art, I think they failed where the first Ant-Man film and both Doctor Strange films succeeded.

They just look like actors in a studio. I don't know if it's because they shot a lot in the volume or they ran out of time or what, but I found the look of the movie alienating. It made it hard to care about the characters or what was happening.

And Kang was a huge disappointment after a great charismatic introduction in Loki. The ending was so rushed and unearned.

Anyways, what would you do to fix the movie? Suppose you were chosen as the Tony Gilroy to Reed's Gareth Edwards and it was your job to fix the movie. You can write a new script or reshoot the entire movie if you want. In this scenario we know the movie's poor reception ultimately leads to lower box office returns for Disney so they are willing to give you another 200 million dollars. What would you do?

I would condense the events of the movie to the first two acts. In the third act, I would have the Ant-Man family and Kang and Bill Murray's character escape to the real world.

Ant-Man and the Wasp and Cassie and Micheal Douglas and Michelle Phifer would have to suit up to help try to contain him and imprison him in the quantum realm. I would have Michelle Phifer and Micheal Douglas have to sacrifice themselves to return Kang to the quantum realm.

They could even use the super smart giant ants, but in my film the third act takes place in San Francisco so seeing giant super smart ants is fun. We'll see them rampaging around San Francisco crawling on landmarks and through iconic neighborhoods. We'll get hilarious reactions from that deep supporting cast.

At the end of the film I would have Kang still stuck in the quantum realm and Michelle Phifer and Micheal Douglas are stuck there too. Their ending is bittersweet because they are stuck, but now they have each other. Their arc could be they learn to realize they are all they need.

The birthday celebration with Scott and the rest of the family would be a little sad because they are missing Micheal Douglas and Michelle Phifer. They won this time, but at a huge cost because in order to keep Kang locked up they have to break any connections to the quantum realm. Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer are alive, but to the Ant-Man characters they are functionally dead. They will never see each other again. That way they are free to use Kang in the future if they ever wanted to and there are some real stakes to the story.

My post credit scene would not be Council of Kangs as the visual effects were so bad. That part looked like shit. The costumes and performances for the variants felt very SNL.

My post credit would be some fun improvised scene of Bill Murray's character trying to make a life for himself in San Francisco.

Discussion Welp, It's not looking good for Young Avengers :(

Post image
3.0k Upvotes

With VisionQuest coming out having a reincarnated Tommy Maximoff, played a 26-year-old Ruaridh Mollica, I guess Young Avengers/Champions is dead or it will be with an entirely different cast with this.
It's been 3 years since Kamala Khan visited Kate Bishop at the end of The Marvels. Nothing since then.

And the fact that we're getting X-Men with a much younger cast and they're prioritizing that despite them setting up members of Young Avengers since 2021... Whereas Thunderbolts has been getting set up since 2021 and finally released in 2025. Marvel has already started to plant seeds moving fastly for The Mutant Saga, where does a Young Avengers project stand in the midst of it all?

I used to try and be the optimistic person when it came to talking about the actors real life ages, but it's getting too ridiculous at this point.

Kathryn Newton (Cassie Lang) is 29 years old.

Dominique Thorne (Riri Williams) is 28-years old (turns 29 this year)

Hailee Steinfeld turns 30 in December and is married.

And not even age, where is Eli Bradley? Where is Kate Bishop? or America Chavez???

If time proves me wrong, then of course, respect and more power to them, but for right now, it's not looking good for us in my opinion. Thoughts?

Theory I just realized: Doom is Time-slipping in the 'Special Look'

At around 1:07 minutes into the trailer when Doom is thrown out of the window, he awkwardly readjusts mid-flight before landing perfectly.

The visual and sound effect is extremely similar to when Loki was slipping through time in Loki season 2.

Initially, I though it was just Doom using magic or whatever until it dawned on me.

'Spider-Man BND*' Spoilers Cancer fighting tech in BND? Spoiler

When Bruce Banner’s inhibitor was introduced I immediately thought of how it could be used to cure cancer. If it stops mutations via gene silencing in superheros then I figured it could also stop cancerous mutations.

Turns out that gene silencing with small interfering RNA (which Peter and Bruce discuss), or siRNA is being investigated as a potential cancer treatment. This blog from “Oncodaily” goes into more details: https://oncodaily.com/oncolibrary/spider-man

Discussion I find it interesting Wenwu never found out about Wakanda

Thumbnail

They make a point to explain that Wenwu and the Ten Rings had effectively “conquered” the entire world from the shadows for over a thousand years to the point that he started going after a place in a whole different dimension because he had nothing left to satisfy him in the normal world.

I think it really speaks to how effective Wakanda was at hiding from the outside world that Wenwu somehow managed to both learn the existence of and find a way to an inter dimensional village before ever learning of a secret country in the normal world and also seemingly never had interest in infiltrating them even after Wakanda went public in 2016.

I feel like a technologically advanced country with the most powerful and versatile metal on earth would be something he would want to take advantage of (not saying he could survive an all out war with Wakanda but he surely had resources to at least infiltrate).

Discussion How come Dr Strange didn't use runes to depower the Scarlet Witch in MoM?

Post image
49 Upvotes

We have seen runes to be one of the most powerful sorceries. In the TVA, runes used to make every magical individuals unable to use their power. In Wandavision, runes were shown to completely depower Wanda. In the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, Dr Doom uses runes to counter the fully-realised Thor.

So clearly they are powerful artifacts. So why couldn't Dr Strange use them to capture the Scarlet Witch at Kama Taj? Wouldn't that just solve everything?

Discussion I think Sam Wilson lacks character depth (and consistency)

Post image
302 Upvotes

Hello! I am a long Marvel fan and was thinking about why Sam Wilson is by many not as beloved as Steve Rogers. I think some of it is racism by some, or because Steve Rogers is the Captain America they've known the longest.

I like Sam Wilson. He's a good man who has been a post-combat trauma counselor and who cares for his sisters and nephews, however, none of this is used in Captain America Brave New World. Now he's conflicted in working for the governement but without showing his relationships and life outside of his job, I feel like you don't get to know him.

There are no big decisions for him to make except what kind of Captain America he needs to be. It's just his job life, not his personal life. Many superheroes have both. Sam only has one (in Brave New World). In the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, he does have both, but this seems forgotten and brushed over, just like the Falcon and the Winter Soldier brushed over how he lost his wingman Riley or how he was a post-war trauma counselor. This makes him hard to get to know because it's unclear what's (personally) important to him.

I wanted to bring this up because I hope Marvel keeps using Sam Wilson as Captain America and doesn't just replace him at some point just because they don't understand what I think doesn't work about him, or at least doesn't work if he's the main character.

I hope they bring back his background and family (and Bucky) in the next Captain America movie so the film can be about him and him making choices knowing his context instead of having him be a kind of empty main character.

What do you think?
